The…read morefraud scheme they use is old and simple: they give you a dirty car, don't mention all the scratches in the rental papers, and on return quickly look for well know "new" scratches and try to charge you for them. Potentially, it's possible to secure yourself taking photos/videos of a car, but dirt will hide some damages. Unfortunately, I lost the video I have taken and got scammed in the end. The company has security cameras all around their parking and could easily determine how and when these damages appeared, if they wanted to.

First time was for 3 weeks and this past time was for 2 weeks. When I reserve the car I refuse CWD because my MasterCard covers damage and theft. This past rental I took out Tire and glass with 0€ liability. Tire and glass are typically not covered by your credit card. Each time I got to the counter, jet lagged and not fluent in Spanish the agent has tried to scare me into the CDW by telling me that my Mastercard would not cover theft and loss of use etc. CDW costs about 1/2 the price of the rental price and does not eliminate a deductible which is usually $1500. So with Sixt there is no agent to inspect the car with you when you drop it off and both times, without fail, I get an email stating that Sixt found a scratch and I needed to pay for it. The first time my CC coveted it ($160) minus the $35 fee that Sixt charges. This last time Sixt says I scratched a wheel. Seriously, isn't this normal wear and tear? But, I bought tire insurance correct? In Spain tire also means wheel in the definition. Well even though I paid for it the agent had me initial the contract that I was declining all insurance, including tire and glass. So I had paid for it, it was listed on my confirmation, but declined in Spanish on my contract. After a few back and forth emails, btw save ALL your paperwork, Sixt dropped the claim. I firmly believe that with Sixt, if you decline their super CDW they WILL find a scratch or ding and come after you with a claim. Now maybe Hertz and Avis are as ruthless but dealing with a US company when living in the US is a lot easier. I have never had this happen except with Sixt and I have rented a LOT of cars.

This is for their Branch in Barcelona…read more Classic bait and switch scam. I booked a transfer service for 4 people. A short 3~4 miles from hotel to port of Barcelona. Gave them all information regarding the ship schedule. Requested transfer around 13:30 and was "confirmed". By the time I checked into hotel, less than 48 hours before the departure (within 100% cancellation fee time frame) they left a message with the hotel stating that they will pick us up at 10:30 AM. 3 hours early! My ship does not leave until 6 and I had the day planned with friends already. Told them 1 hour earlier was fine but 3 hours and we had to wait more than 2 hours in humid summer heat before ship even lets anyone onboard?? Asked them to send another car and they told us take it or leave it. We end up taking taxis to the port from the hotel. Very difficult company to deal with. It's cheaper to get taxis from any Barcelona city hotels to the port later I found out. Their USA booking agent www.city-discovery.com is no help either. We called all hours of when they were supposed to be open and it took days to get a response. When we went to return the car it took about an hour for them just to open the gate and let us return it. Then they desperately tried to charge us extra for being a little under the mark of gasoline. Total criminals. Enterprise Spain is not like Enterprise USA. Avoid at all costs.

Except when the attendant quickly handed me the contract to sign, it was over double the original price, while I pointed this out and she fixed it, this should have been my first red flag. She then noted they had to place a 400 hold on my card because of the vehicle class, again I didn't think much of this at the time. The real issues come to when I returned the vehicle - everything seemed okay during the return process and the attendant quickly checked the vehicle in, said everything was good and I was on my way. Only after when the attendant emailed me the final receipt did I realize he completely altered my check out contract and charged me a total of 700 euro vs the 233 euro I agreed to. He removed my weekly rental rate, changed it to a daily rate, and then increased the daily rate 3 fold. Not only was the 400 hold not returned, he charged a separate card on file an additional 80 euro WITHOUT MY CONSENT. To make matters worse, I have called enterprise customer service 3 times now and they say while they have emailed the location to correct the issue, they can't do anything else and suggest I dispute the charges with credit card company. If you read the reviews, I apparently am not the only person they have done this to - they fraudulent charged me an extra 500 euro. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION.
