I will keep it short. Flavor is ok, it is like homemade fried chicken, quite salty goodness. My issue is w lack of transparency on price listed inside the store and the website. Add about extra $2 +tax to the listed price. I placed my 12pcs through the phone. When I paid, I wasn't paying attention to how much it was ($21.19). Then, later on she said she charged me for 8pcs, I paid more($13.49). Then I questioned how much is the actual price. I looked at my credit card charges to find out and she gave me cash back $2.86. I get that price is subject to change, but you need to display current accurate price you charge, not outdated price ($27.99). This place looks like a local favorite. They even sell their chicken by 50 or 100 pieces. A lady before me ordered 50 pieces. A local favorite. read more

I ordered chicken for lunch and an 8 piece to go. The chicken was delicious, hot, fresh, juicy and crispy. It lives up to the hype.

Step over 5 Guys and let the 3 Ladies running this place take over! Awesomeness in stopping here, had the Reuben and chicken cheesesteak both with fries! Incredibly well made and the fries were better than any we've had at chain locations. Found this gem while geocaching, and if you are near, do yourself a favor and stop for a sandwich or snack! The place may not look like much from the outside but the food inside is excellent! read more

Best carry out fried chicken in the area. Got an eight piece with two of each piece and ordered one more thigh. Got three sides: pickled beets (I love them and am the only one in the house who eats them), potato salad (delicious), and banana pudding (my husband and daughter LOVED it). Service was fast and with a smile. I called ahead and it was ready right on time. This is a great option on an evening where one feels like taking the night off. You can also take a walk at the nearby Monacacy Aquaduct before picking up. read more

Wasn't too far from Dickerson's Market, so decided to grab some of their fried chicken that many people in the area rave about. It's located in a gas station, so can't be bad, right?! Dickerson Market didn't disappoint! Ordered a 12 piece bucket ($21.99), bacon cheeseburger special (which came with fries and a fountain drink), two slices of pizza for the little ones, and grabbed macaroni salad and coleslaw from the fridge. Luckily they just finished cooking a batch of chicken, otherwise my order would have taken an additional 20 minutes (order ahead if you can!). The burger took a little bit of time, but wasn't too bad. The 12 piece bucket came with a mix of chicken breast, thighs, and legs. It was cooked well, not oily, crispy, and super juicy. Dickerson Market definitely gives the Amish market (which isn't too far away) a good run for their money when it comes to fried chicken! I also tried some of the bacon cheeseburger, which was good, but on the smaller side. Definitely don't expect a big, meaty burger here! Fries were good, but pretty standard. Didn't get a chance to try the pizza because C & N finished their slices by the time we got home, but I'm assuming that's a good thing! Service was friendly, with the cashier not rushing me as I was deciding what to order. Since this Dickerson is located inside of a gas station, there is also a mini market available (snacks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages). Parking is available right outside the market, but there's only a few spots available. This could possibly be an issue with the post office is open. If you are in the area and craving fried chicken, highly suggest checking out Dickerson Market. read more

I grew up in a small town and this feels familiar in a good way. Friendly people with a welcoming attitude. The fried chicken is some of the best I've ever eaten. Food is fresh and delicious. read more

Two thumbs up. The chicken. Ahhhhh the chicken. Ambiance ? It's what it should be. Not forced at all. Nothing fraudulent about it. Classically unique. Staff is friendly and warm. read more

The fried chicken at Dickerson Market, at least the thighs that we had, is as great as I've been hearing for years! Sure, the market doesn't have much in the way of vegetables, but that wasn't why we finally stopped there during a leisurely drive up route 28 that included little 30mph (watch your speed!) Dickerson. We were there for their justifiably famous chicken. The thighs were crisp and so juicy even though we got them from the warmer, so I can only imagine how they'll be when we order ahead next time. The first bite gave a delicious hit of salty (but not too salty) chicken juice that threatened to run down our hands in the car where we were eating since there is no seating in the market, so we'll be sure to have plenty of napkins the next time we're in Dickerson. Oh yeah, great service from nice people. read more

Do you want a Real True to Life little Country Store, you have found it. Because it's in the weeds of Montgomery County, and very nearby the MONOCACY AQUEDUCT, meaning the conjunction of the Monocacy and Potomac Rivers. Beautiful, quiet, great catfish fishing, hiking on the C&O Canal. It's all maybe two miles away HOMEMADE food, everything in the store. Bait, Beer, Barbecue, babes behind the counter (always in the eyes of the beholder ). They have everything you might need on a fun time, or if you need fuels read more

Great fried chicken. Homemade potato salad and pasta salad were also delicious. Didn't need gas! Would definitely eat again if I was in the area. read more

Stopped by this gas station to check out their rep for great fried chicken. Do not hesitate to follow my actions. Call ahead and pick it up fresh out of the fryer. The smell, the flavor, the crunch - omg, the best chicken I can remember having had. Combine it with their great cole slaw and you're all set. I'm hungry now. read more

Hidden gem with amazing fried chicken if you're in the area. Crispy chicken, flavorful skin, not dry and pretty fresh. The sides were decent but the star here is the chicken - will definitely stop by next time/every time I'm in the area read more

Great country market that has a wide selection of convenience products and snacks. All kinds of jerky too, I believe they had elk last time I went. Friendly staff and homely atmosphere. And the Reubens and pulled pork sandwiches are fantastic! read more

I recently tried the chicken at the Dickerson market. The chicken traveled well and stayed crispy. The flavor was real nice as well. The reason for the 3 stars was the size of the pieces of chicken. For each person I ordered our usual quantities of a wing and a breast plus an additional half dozen wings. We finished it and I was left checking the fridge for something lease to eat. read more

Cheapest gas in Montogomery County. Very friendly service. Old style gas station in a rural hamlet, lovely drive there and back. read more

Best traditional "Southern Fried Chicken" in Montgomery County. I am so thankful that someone hasn't forgotten how to do classic fried chicken! The coating was moist and flavorful without being greasy, just like I remember from my youth. Not that greasy, crunch crust you get at Popeye's or Kentucky Fried Chicken, or the Asian fast foods sprinkled around the urban areas of Montgomery County. They have great burgers and pizza, good prices on gas and a great assortment of beer and drinks! Don't forget to try their homemade soups! read more

Simple local deli, no frills. Decent breakfast sandwiches. It can get really busy on weekends when ordering food. The absolute best part of Dickie-mart is the fried chicken. Some of the best I've had! Yum! They also have a case of frozen meat from local farmers Savage and Sons. It's not always replenished but it's really quality stuff! read more

Lucious fried chicken: Juicy. Tasty. Hot. Fresh. Took it to go for a picnic. Will be back again!

Excellent! They also brought our order out to the car. The food was great (ordered turkey club sub, sausage & green pepper pizza, fried chicken, fries, macaroni salad, potato salad, and coleslaw). Nice ride in the country. Will be back! read more

Dickerson Market is one of the few places left these days, were you just feel welcome and the food is always good. The staff is friendly and the ownership is not some corporation in some big city but a local who simply wants to satisfy her customers and produce good food. The fried chicken is better than anything I could ever make and they take large orders of chicken for big events! If you are on your way south or north on Rt 28 you must stop and say hello to the folks at Dickerson Market....and have some chicken! read more

My dad and I made a tradition out of coming here for the egg salad sandwiches. Always hit the spot

This place is like a mom and pop 7-11 (gas available) with a food counter inside. The chicken was indeed good, I give it a B+. A single chicken breast was $2.25 and it filled me up for lunch, I noticed other chicken pieces inside a display window looked meaty. They do sell by the bucket. Some very limited seating inside the place and outside picnic tables. I'm not from the area, but seemed like many regulars inside the place. Not far from MARC railroad station (Dickerson) and bike trail. read more

I've been hearing about the fried chicken here, and finally gave it a try. Wow, it's so delicious! I live 20 min. away but it was still hot when I got home. Service was very friendly. Cole slaw and mac salad were also very good. Will come back sometime to try one of their sandwiches (and more chicken, of course)! read more

Super friendly, helpful staff. My husband stopped at Dickerson Market on a bike ride to Sugarloaf Mountain, and accidentally left his cell phone and driver's license there. Someone from the store called me (because I showed up in the "recent calls" on his phone) and explained the situation. When I said he was biking to Sugarloaf, a customer took his phone and license and went and found him near the top of the mountain! I was very impressed that they took the time to do this for total strangers. Will definitely make a point of stopping at Dickerson Market the next time we are in the area! read more

I was biking in winter and stopped, looking for something healthy so I asked the cashier and she recommended the homemade cabbage soup. I was so surprised - it was great! I have been back many times since. Limited selection but what they do make is excellent. read more

Beware! I stopped in for a small item, paid with a $20 bill, and was given change only for a ten. They said it was recorded and they would look. I waited several minutes, and no response. I eventually had to leave. I am really sure it was a $20, but even if I was wrong, their tactic seemed be to just outwait me. I won't go back. read more

Chicken and good prepared there is very good. The service especially cashier in morning

Well - it's not the cheapest gas in the county anymore, but it sure is convenient if you are out and about in this corner of the world, because there aren't many places to get gas out here. Diesel too! And they have really yummy fried chicken. Totally agree about the staff too - super nice folks. read more

We got the 8 piece fried chicken bucket the other day here. It is really good, possibly the best I have ever eaten. If you pass here every day and have never stopped in, like I have, you have to stop in and get something from the food counter. Delicious! read more

Since the closing of Poole's Store, my brethren and I had to find a new place to dine at the end our days of adventure and camaraderie. The Dickerson Market fills the void, and goes further. The fried chicken is on point. The service is great, and we got to eat and converse with some good ol boys. I can't wait to end another day at Dickerson Market. read more

This restaurant, market and gas station on Highway 28 in Dickerson has two small tables and a menu described by other reviewers. They do not have public restrooms. I asked and was directed to a port-a-potty with no toilet paper and an empty hand sanitizer dispenser. When I returned for toilet paper the clerk pointed at the napkin dispenser on one of the tables. I imagine some customers hands are all over everything after relieving themselves. This place is a disgusting hole. Avoid if at all possible. read more
