The attorneys Connie Lara and Wendy Lara as well as their staff have demonstrated all of those skill sets. I have asked Miss Lara many questions related to my case and she has always been able to explain the law, the ramifications, and solutions at all times. At the Office of Connie Lara you will not only find an outstanding and extremely knowledgeable attorney , but also an amazing person. She's compassionate, honest, forthright, and extremely professional. She's very easy to talk to and cares deeply about her clients. After 15 long years of dealing with others Law firms, the office of Connie Lara, in only 9 months, dealing with a very complicated case like mine, were able to put the green Card in my hands! None of us want to find ourselves in a situation that requires legal advice, however, If you are looking for an attorney, you will not find a more trustworthy, reliable and knowledgeable law firm than this one.

In early October I scheduled an appointment and visited Victory Law Office for an immigration…read moreissue. It was not a complicated one but since I didn't want to spend time for the whole process I wanted to work with an attorney. In the office, first, a paralegal asked me many questions and I spent about 30 minutes to answer his questions because he was a Spanish speaking man and seemed he didn't understand English very well. Finally, he said he needed to call an attorney. I was surprised because I thought he was the attorney, himself. Then, he returned with a male attorney, who asked me the same questions as the paralegal did. However, he obviously seemed unconfident/unknowledgeable about immigration cases. He sounded like he was a new graduate from the law school. As I asked him questions about my case he two times said, "let me see what the law says" as he grabbed a huge immigration law book from the shelf my case was a very simple case and any attorney should be able to easily handle it. I spent 30 more minutes to explain the issue/case to this young very inexperienced attorney. Finally, at the end of our conversation, he told me that he needed to make research and would call me back within two or three days. We never talked about the cost and the charges throughout our conversation. I've been waiting for a call from this young attorney since then and nobody has called me with a positive or negative answer. I called the office twice and the receptionist asked me to leave a message for him. I did so and asked him to call me back. However, again he never returned my calls and told me if he would take my case. I wanted to speak with the director/manager of the office and the secretary said that there was no director to address our concerns and complaints.

I URGE YOU TO STAY AWAY if you intend on a speedy resolution for any of your legal matters…read more I hired them to represent me in my divorce case almost five years ago and I am yet to have a resolution on my dissolution of marriage. I am married with a child and very limited to no assets (No home, hardly any savings). I understand that family matters take quite a bit of time especially when the divorce itself is made contentious by one of the parties involved. Nevertheless, as a client, I have seen how they operate both in and out of the court room. The most troubling issue I noticed during their tenure with my case is the number of different attorneys handling it. I am not just referring to the same two attorneys that you see in the office (Ms. Kayali and Mr. Yasin) or call you to collect fees. In VLO's case, they have had a myriad of attorneys working for them in very short time periods resulting in case attrition in the court room. I took note of this and grew wary about the progress in my case. Thus, without being asked to attend the court appearances, I attended. To no surprise, I stood in the same court room with their attorneys who are "supposedly" representing me, yet never knew who I was personally. You would think that your message as a client and your requests would trickle down to them if they are rightfully representing you, but that is very seldom the case here. They will never ask for you to be involved until crap hits the fan. With several attorneys handling my case, it was made easy for them to lose sight of the progress/direction that I, as their client, desired. With $6,000+ in fees and 5 years later, I can tell you that VLO will not fight for you. Their attorneys merely go through the motions allowing the other party's attorney to lead the case the whole step of the way, leaving you with endless continuations, no final trial in sight and all of the fees attached to their lackluster legal behavior.

During my first divorce court appearance, they stated that I had not submitted my financial affidavit, even though I had provided it nearly a month prior to the court date. This was extremely frustrating and concerning. Additionally, I requested a detailed breakdown statement of services and charges, which was never provided. They assigned me to a lawyer who was never available and did not return my calls. Communication is critical in legal matters, and the lack of responsiveness made the situation even more stressful. To make matters worse, my name was incorrectly changed in the financial affidavit to reflect a female name. Errors like this are unacceptable in legal matters and reflect a lack of attention to detail. I paid $1,450 to begin services, and based on my experience, I find their handling of my case to be unprofessional and unethical. It has now been almost a year with no response, no detailed billing statement, and no refund at all. If a firm truly stands by professional and ethical standards, I would expect them to acknowledge mistakes and address them appropriately, including issuing a refund when services are not properly rendered. I strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to carefully review all documentation and communication. My experience was disappointing and did not meet the professional standards I expected.

My case was the easiest in the country due I came here with a visa, I reported taxes every year, no problems with the law and I always used my social so there should be no problems. Anyways still I had to pay around $6800 for her services with an extremely easy case which I didn't care cause I would get my green card. She "prepared" me for my residence interview with some questions BUT when that day finally came up the questions were not even similar to the ones that she used when we met and when I looked at her or her assistant (I payed for a translator just in case I got nervous ) just to get a hint if I should say YES or No, they were looking at the wall (Anel) and her assistant was almost like laughing at me (making fun of me) cause I didn't know what to answer when the officer asked me "Have you used fake documents for work??? I was in the middle of both and the officer was busy behind his computer, I didn't know what to answer cause I'm not an attorney and I didn't know how much info the officer in his system. I know they are not allowed to help me to answer the questions BUT if they were good people, of course they could have roll their eyes or any other way to help me to answer correctly. I didn't pass my interview so when we got out Anel was yelling at me (honestly I was so sad at that point cause I was waiting 22 years for that interview process and for nothing) and I reacted right away and I was like wait a minute ... I'm the one who's paying for your services and I'm the one who should be msg at you cause you didn't make a good job setting me up for this interview. I was a general manager and I trained managers and I have the philosophy that if the managers I trained fail, that means "I didn't do a good job". For work permits that you have to renew she wants to charge you $400 lol. Something that you or a public notary can do it for $100 and it's safe. I started tracking my case at the USCIS website so I changed my home address cause I moved out and I kept renewing my work permits on my own. I didn't get an answer when I did my residence interview from the officer that day so Anel mentioned it would take a year to get and answer and that the officer will deny it so we would have to process a pardon. Unfortunately for Anel I didn't get that answer after a little bit over a year and I get the approval. When they finally sent my green card to my home address according to the USCIS website, I never got it physically so I just waited 1 month to send an inquiry saying I didn't get so I just decided to get a phone call to Anel for help and I left a msg with her secretary and I got a beautiful and amazing answer : "because I changed my home address in the USCIS website my self she didn't know what I did so she just recommended me to call USCIS or fill out the I-90 form and sent it my self so she wasn't willing to help me with my green card anymore. I changed my home address before and I kept getting my work permits without any problems before I got my residence approval so obviously she was mad at me because I didn't pay her $400 for every time I renew my work permit. Btw before I first met her to present her my case I paid $500 so she would be tracking the billeting visa for me. Such a waste of $$$ for nothing but the worst part is that she treats you like shit or if you were asking for charity. HER and her assistant ROSA are very arrogant people. She needs to learn how to treat people with respect and always take in mind that THANKS TO US the immigrants, she is where it is. Don't waste your money with her and go somewhere else please. I'm not lying .
