Hygienist and doctors are skilled & knowledgable. They have provided quality care and ongoing clear communication. Paperwork is complete online prior to appointments or in-office with a tablet. Not many people understand what it's like to parent a special needs child. In our case, every day is different and many times good oral hygiene is a struggle, leading to many, many teeth and gum issues. We have taken our daughter to over 20 dentists in the Birmingham metro area (yes, early on, we called UBA and the wait was a year for anesthesia), and Brocks Gap is THE ONLY DENTISTS who were willing to save our daughter's teeth. THEY CARE. Dentists, hygienists, DAs, managers, receptionists, etc. are there to help, but this is how they feed their families and they must be paid (this is a finger shaking to the negative reviewers who are angry that they charge a late or no-show fees). They went above and beyond to help a middle-class family who did not have all the funds to give their daughter a new start with her teeth. They are working with a new company that doesn't focus on credit score allows patients to make monthly payments for dental work, so if you think you can't afford to go to the dentist, give them a call. They have so many options for struggling families just like us. If you have a fear of dental work, you can even request anesthesia, which is a must with our child, who has extreme anxiety and could not tolerate the time sensitive and lengthy dental care she needed. If you have a child who is autistic, you will be in VERY SAFE HANDS at Brocks Dental. We will be letting families everywhere know that there is a dental facility that can care for the whole family, but ESPECIALLY our autism babies who need the kind of care that they give. We will never, ever forget the compassion and empathy given by each person who makes Brocks Gap what it is, a place where parents are not judged, and a true love of children and their well-being is so very apparent. Thank you to everyone who has greeted us with a smile, understood when we needed to reschedule due to melt downs or blown tires (we drive over an hour to them, because it's worth it). given patience to a very sensitive 16 year old and still helped us when Mom has had stress induced breakdowns. I went to several consultations over the years, but it was not until a few months ago that I decided to finally do something about it. On September 1, 2020, I went for a braces consultation here. I knew that Birmingham Orthodontics does same day braces so I had my teeth cleaned by my general dentist a couple weeks prior. At the consultation, I had X-rays, pictures, and an examination of my teeth. After that, the orthodontist told me I was a good candidate for braces. He also said I could get my braces same day, which I chose to do. I paid and then I got my braces on. It was an easy process. I was not in any pain during or after the braces being installed. I have been back twice since my braces were initially installed. Each time, the staff has taken precautions for Covid-19 and has been prompt and professional. When I ask questions, they have been answered. My treatment so far has been great! My teeth are moving well! I'm looking forward to this journey to straighter teeth. The orthodontist we had was a very nice older gentleman that takes the time to understand what is needed and quickly determines the path that is needed... and if you are ready, and they can fit you in they can put them on right after the initial consult. That is what we opted for... now as far as the "tune ups" every 6 weeks, these are pretty quick as well. My daughter is only back there for about 15 minutes. Now not knowing anything about braces as I never had the opportunity as a child. Needless to say braces are a lot of work as well to maintain. My daughter was not fully prepared but is finally getting the idea. I will say do your research on additional items you need. Like little brushes for "in between tooth paste brushing. Also listen very close to the instruction, these are not a suggestion but mandatory. If you do not take care of these they can actually damage your teeth... all of this information is give. To once the braces are on. As far as cost... yeah it is kinda expensive, but if you need to you can finance them... All in all we are really happy with this place, and I would recommend anyone here to get their teeth straightened.
