My front yard was struggling, overtaken by weeds, under-watered, and too many grass types in one lawn. He methodically approached my project with a vision that aligned with mine to increase curb appeal. He used product to first kill the yard. Several weeks later after the grass/weeds were lifeless, he mowed, then tilled multiple times to loosen up the old thatch layer. He applied top soil and installed zoysia plugs. Some additional work that he completed was the repair of sprinkler lines to ensure all areas of the yard had good overlapping coverage of watering. He revamped the planter area with some red cinder and installed edging that I selected from Home Depot made of hard rubberized material. Overall, I am thorougly pleased with the final product and would recommend Ernesto Yard Service to family and friends. Our delivery arrives and I'm kind of shocked how much big chunks of mulch there is in the lawn blend. Did our best to just use what we could and rake up the rest of the big chunks. Reason for the 3 stars is we were under the impression it would be comparable to Hawaiian earths greens blend which had no where near this much mulch and doing so it caused more manual labor for us than we anticipated.

They did however give me Leo's contact number. I had to wait but it was worth it. He sharpened the reels, changed the chain, oil, filter and spark plug. He also adjusted the clutch because the reels were no spinning. He told me that I didn't need the knife bed assembly which Waipahu lawn told me previously that I needed. I highly recommend calling him for your service needs and he comes to your location which makes it convenient. He also recommended that I have the P20 serviced every 8 months based on my usage.

I recently learned about the $40 rebated for installing a rain collection barrel in my yard. It's…read moreconnected to my downspout, and even though it's not supposed to rain all that much here, with just four downspouts for the whole house, I had witnessed some serious runoff. I chose to get my barrel from The Urban Farmer Store because they offered a complete installation kit as part of the purchase. The directions and the kit were very easy to understand, but we ran into one snag--I have round downspouts, and the kit is set up for people with square/rectangular downspouts. Yeah...come to think of it, who has round ones?? Me. Anyway, I took a trip back to the store, and they couldn't have been nicer about helping me get a round downspout diverter. Installation was quite easy. If you have the right tools, and know-how, I would say it's a 15-minute job. I had the right tools and very little know-how, so it took me around 30 to 45 minutes. There was a storm coming (the one that also brought hail to many areas) that night and I got the job done. The barrel was 100% full by morning. Ok but I digress. The Urban Farmer Store folks are really super nice. We went there three times--first to just scope out the selection. Second, we inadvertently went to buy our rain barrel right when they were closing, but had no idea. We took a little stroll around the store on our third trip back to get the right part. They TONS of knee pad/kneeling pads, a good selection of garden saws, and a lot of other stuff for installing sprinklers, etc. Things I know nothing about, but they know their stuff. They even gave me the forms for the rebate! There's easy parking, and if you live in town, the place is conveniently located in Mapunapuna.

Everything from stuff in your green trash bin to commercial landscapers who haul away everything from grass clippings to tree stumps all ends up here to be commercially composted. Surprisingly, it is a very complex process of timing and temperature. The soil and compost the material all has to be processed under correct conditions to end up with a commercially viable final product. The great thing is if you are in need of compost soil, it is very inexpensive. Something like 40 bucks for a truck load. They will even load it into your truck for you but you haul it away. I was fortunate enough to be part of an opala.org tour. If you want to learn more about our trash, definitely check it out.
