Ah Cirrus, you took more money off me than any other commercial venture in the history of my existence. And you know what? They were very welcome.
Perhaps it was my own fault to take my then-fiancée with me to a jeweller, instead of picking out something myself. She made trying before buying into an art form and, while I love you, dear, it was, ahem, very trying. They were the most un-boy hours of all time. But as soon as we visited Cirrus, everything seemed to click into place.
It's a diamond vendor first, and while complete rings are available, it's really about picking out a stone as an initial step. The staff were patient, helpful, appreciative of the emotional and financial leaps being made and had an eye-twinkle to match the diamonds. It really felt like a personal service, complete with a call they'd promised to let me know when the finished product was ready. It was all turned round quickly and available for collection when they said it would be. Best of all, through sheer experience, the staff had been able to glimpse something hitherto only perceivable in my now-wife's subjective and, at least to me, unknowable, mind's eye.
