The $5 lunch special at the Penthouse Club is quite simply the best deal you can get in a restaurant that doesn't (directly) involve methamphetamine. There's no cover to get in, which is already a pretty good deal, given that there's a show going on (if you're not hungry, you could just sit there and look at naked girls for free for hours on end, albeit from a distance), and there's a list of $5 lunch specials which includes an 8 oz. New York strip steak. Schnucks will sell you a garbage-quality 8 oz. New York strip steak for $5, but you gotta cook it yourself and you may or may not be able to get a girl in her underwear to bring it to you. It doesn't come with a baked potato either. You can get a big-ass bag of potatoes for not much money, but what do you need with an entire bag of potatoes? Given how I've been treated there, I doubt you could talk them into just giving you one for free. Also, in the interest of fairness to the Penthouse Club, which has done so much for me this weekend, I should point out that the lunch special is actually less than $5. It's $4.99... for both a steak dinner and a show. It really is the best lunch special you can get at a strip club. My homeboy Jimmy looked at the websites of all the area strip clubs. The next best deal was $5.99--a full dollar more. Walking in the front door, you're greeted by Scatman Crothers from the Shining. Even though there's no cover, they make you sign your name to a clipboard, so there's a permanent record of you having visited (and eaten in) a strip club at 11 o'clock in the morning. If you're not carded (we must not have looked young enough), you could just sign someone else's name, but if you get caught they probably take you out back and break your legs. If you're not planning on running for the Senate, I'm not sure why this would be an issue. Business was surprisingly brisk, given the time of day, not to mention the fact that it was Black Friday. There was a couple of tables of girls, who, presumably, were there to take advantage of the prices and not so much what was going on down on the stage. Both groups left without going down to play feed the kitty. For most of the time we were there, there was no one down in front of the main stage funding college educations. While this was tragic for the performers (I'm pretty sure they don't get paid at all if nobody tips), it was ideal for those of us at the tables a few rows back, because there was nothing obstructing our view. At one point, one of the last surviving members of the Greatest Generation went down to get some glitter on his face. He may have had a Pavlovian response to the song "Lit Up" by Buckcherry. I was glad to see a man that age still out here giving back to the community, but it kinda ruined the (free) show for the rest of us. (Members of the Black Keys, close personal friends of mine, will be pleased to know that I heard a few of their songs, and I was only there for like two hours. Though I'm not sure if they get paid for that.) My little brother, who'd probably been planning this for weeks, as if it were a bank robbery, thought to order fried shrimp and buffalo wing entrees for the table. This was an excellent idea. For $5 apiece, i.e. only $1.25 per "gentleman," you're adding two different kinds of protein--surf and air, in addition to turf--to your lunch, which is something you should do whenever possible, as a matter of principle. And because 8 oz. is not the biggest steak in the world, you might want a couple of chicken wings to go along with it, lest you end up getting temperamental later in the afternoon. Fried shrimp is fried shrimp. Unless the shrimp is fake shrimp from China, I'm not sure if you can ruin it, it being deep fried and all. You get a decent quantity of them for (less than) $5, and they're bigger than the fried shrimp you get with the Endless Shrimp deal at Red Lobster. The buffalo wings were among the best buffalo wings I've had in a restaurant, both in terms of the size of the wings, which were ginormous, and the preparation. They were deep fried to the point where the exterior was crisp, but the interior wasn't all dried out. The latter may have been a benefit of the size of the wing. The quality of the $5 steak makes me wonder what the full-price steaks are like. I might try to get my parents to take me there for my birthday. I requested, and received, a legit, well-prepared medium-rare steak. The interior of the club was a little on the dark side to get a sense of the depth of the pink in the center (ayo), but I could kinda taste the blood, which was delicious. The cut was a little bit thinner than I prefer, but it was still a pretty decent-sized piece of meat (ahem) and more filling than I expected. The three beers I drank may have also helped in that regard. read more

We drove for two hours reading reviews and thought that we would have a great time and while the food was terrific and the bartenders were fantastic. The girls were pretty and danced well they didn't seem much interested in making extra money and in a Friday night that seemed a bit odd. We'll on any night that seems a bit odd. My husband and I sat there for quite awhile after our meal and no one approached us so he did go up to the stage and I followed when invited by the dancer. We were going to talk to her for a dance and she immediately when to the bar and got on her cell phone. Most of the Dancers were talking with each other and/or on the cell phones very disengaged with any customers. We ended up leaving and spending our money elsewhere. I've been coming here for years and I'm tired of seeing of the same malcontent stale dancers that have been working here for 5, 8 and 10 or more years. Especially during the week. It's odd for a strip club not to get new talent coming through the door. I travel weekly for business and frequent many strip clubs around the country and can't help but notice other clubs have 60 plus dancers a night, a wide variety, and a good number who travel from other cities. It's always refreshing to see new, constantly changing talent, and even better when they bring a positive and fresh attitude. I wanted to like this place, but just couldn't. I've been to strip clubs all over the country, and it's clear this one has issues. My wife and I went on a Thursday night while passing through and decided to give it a shot. What a waste. Hope this review helps others to avoid this place. Oh where to begin. 1. Customer interaction- despite there only being like 10 guys in this giant place, the women would not interact. They'd get on stage, dance a bit, then either sit at the bar, or go to a regular and spend an hour there. Not making money for themselves, or the club. Every strip club I've ever been too the girls are encourage to walk around and great guests, especially when it's slow. I'm a regular at the club I go to, but girls still walk around to try to make money instead of spending the entire night with me, because it's a business. Want to socialize go to a normal bar. I don't know how this place stays in business. 2. Members Area- apparently you can get a membership to a specific area so girls would get off stage, and go there or back stage. So if you're a normal person, good luck. This is not disclosed when you walk in, or offered to you either. You just have to sit there being ignored and watching dancers disappear. 3. On stage- I guess it's different here, but basically one guy would tip, grope the shit out of a girl, and then she'd ignore other guys or drive them away because of that. Not classy at all. Makes you wonder if they are allowing that on stage, what would they allow in private? 4. Private Dances- at no point did the dj, managers, or dancers push for private dances. They did no dance specials nor did they ever announce how much dances are. I had to ask the waitress. 5. Costs- $11 to get in was a joke. for one thing, make it $10. Even round number. Also drinks were way to expensive. $7.50 for a bottle miller lite? wow. 6. bathrooms- things were gross and falling apart, non of the stalls locked, and they were dirty. You have this giant space that actually looks pretty nice when you're in it, but then you go to use the facilities and are just grossed out. 7. Smoking inside-i'm so glad to live in an area where you can't smoke in bars anymore. This place is huge. If you're going to allow that, have a designated smoking area. I don't smoke, and neither does my wife. I shouldn't have to be sitting there and some asshole light up next to me making my experience worse. We ended up just leaving and going to the place next door, as well as several other customers. read more

The upscale ($$$$) lounge type of gentlemen's clubs (has a large bar and lots of seating and tables away from the stages). Penthouse even has a true VIP Lounge ($$$$$$$$). Drinks are expensive. The entertainment is more topless, but with $$$$.... The entertainers get women from the audience that are sitting next to the stage up on stage. This can be interesting. I used to work the front door at nightclubs on Washington and this was one of our destinations after work (both men and women). We got to be patrons at a bar with sexy girls walking by in just thongs. If you want to ask the manager about the price of the VIP lounge, you can not afford it. (They want yearly membership) Nice stuffed lion, wood panels, lounges and a true oversized personal restroom is the design. The drink selection is also increased. Bring LOTS of cold hard $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ or pay big ATM fees. read more

I had some friends in from out of town, and we were having such a fantastic time, it seemed that the best idea at 3 am was to continue in consuming adult beverages. What else sounded better than drinking till 6 am at an adult entertainment club. The crowd is actually a pretty good mix of men and women, most of which are hanging at the bar. The drinks are super expensive, and unless you are pimpin here and carry a load of cash, your options are: 1. Hit up the ATM and get charged for a $20 fee, or 2. Use the bars money system, where 20 Us dollars is equivalent to pesos after they tax you. The crowd is usually a mix, business people, tweekers, whatever and whoever may just show up. Just be careful, driving there may be a mistake (Just walk up to a cop and ask to get arrested or a DWI). read more

This is a typical high end club.What I mean is the decor and environment is what you would expect. Food prices are high, and quality could be better. My salad could have been fresher, baked potato not so over cooked, meat without so much fat, etc... Don't bother going early as most of the dancers do not show up until after 9:30 to 10 pm. They will quickly try to get you to agree to a lapdance at the $40 a song price. Some of the girls are very good looking, most are average. For my birthday, we went to the Penthouse Club on Saturday, October 5th. I picked Penthouse because online recommendations said it was "couples friendly," which was as close to "ladies welcome" I could find online. Price: The cover charge was outrageous, as were the drink prices. When I went to the front to get singles, I was told that to get them I would have to buy drinks at the bar (drinks which were, might I add, priced at about a 700% markup). Sitting at a table with two of my friends who were both drinking I was offered drinks every 3-5 minutes. The Dancers: The dancing itself was not terribly good. No one seemed happy to be there. There was no diversity in body types, all but 1 was incredibly thin, most had breast implants. No one made use of the poke as anything but something to hold onto as you walked around incredibly slowly. Sitting next to the stage, the dancer never so much as acknowledged my existence, despite the stack of money in front of me. The Outrage: I had been sitting next to the stage for about 5 minutes when the DJ got on the loudspeaker to discuss his opinion of my breasts. Here's a hint: If, as a woman, I go to a club where beautiful women take their clothes off and pretend to be interested in me, I'm probably not paying the heinous cover charge to be harassed by some dude in front of an entire club of people. I hoped it was over. It wasn't. He kept talking, on and on until I left the stage area, got my friends, and left. When I attempted to talk to the guy at the front desk to tell him what had just happened, and that we were leaving, he didn't make eye contact, did not attempt to apologize, did not offer to comp our cover charges. What he did do, however, was stare at my breasts. We were there less than half an hour. The Bright Side: Afterwards, we drove out to Centerville and patronized the Pyramid of Pleasure, which was both cheaper and far more inviting. All attention I received there was from the dancers. My friends and I spent at least $200 between the three of us, staying there for about 4 hours. I contacted the Penthouse Club via their website contact page 4 days ago. Penthouse is basically the top club now. Hot girls and only hot girls, no playing count the scars, always many girls on too. Multiple stages going anytime it gets at all crowded. Plus the girls that aren't dancing actually go around the floor and bars and talk to you. It does cost but you get what you paid for, never felt like I wasted my money there. Plus their lot security really stays outside where cars are parked, their bar is good for a strip club bar with more diversity than anywhere else local, and the regular staff doesn't seem like they hired them right after a prison stint. Music is diverse not non-stop rap so your ear drums won't hate you. Good place. Check it out at least once if you like hitting the clubs. Plus right now when you're done you're right at the river, don't have to drive through 15min of IL interstate construction to get back to MO. read more

I went last night and there was piss all over the floors, shit overflowing the toilet in the handicapped stall and flies circling the toilets. It was 10 TIMES worse than a nasty truck stop.
