Terminal C doesn't have the best food options in Denver Airport (IMHO, that would go to Terminal…read moreA), but it is certainly very spacious and clean, with friendly staff who can point me to the right ways. I generally fly in here through Southwest, usually enroute to another city (generally on the East Coast). I stayed overnight in Terminal C when I tried to go find a spot at the rest station in Terminal A, which ended up being completely packed, and a bunch of travelers sleeping on the floor. I ended up returning to Terminal C, where at least there are spacious couches and charging stations. The problem though is that it's brightly lit, there's cleaning staff that cleans after hours, and there are still noisy people. I didn't sleep a wink, and gave up around 5am when travelers started flooding the gates for their redeye flights, and I had to go catch mine anyway.

It's a long walk to the terminal, but they do have moving walkways that help speed up your journey to your gate. There are plenty of food options for restaurants and convenience shops, including a couple of bars if you need an alcoholic beverage. I enjoy flying into Denver, especially with the direct flights available from Fort Lauderdale. Make sure you give yourself time to make it to the Terminal, as you will have to take the tram from the main building where you check in and go through security.

When arriving at DEN, you will exit the airplane into one of the three Concourses listed as A, B, or C. I arrived on Southwest in Concourse C. I made sure to make use of two of those long, horizontal travelators (moving walkways). Then took the escalators down twice to get to the train. Took the train to the Terminal and then took the escalators up twice to get me to the Baggage Claim area. On the plane we were told our luggage would be at Carousel 9, but without notice, they switched it to Carousel 7. A nice man told me there was a switch and my bag was one of four left on the stopped carousel. After retrieving my bags, I had to take the escalators down to get to the Arrivals pick-up area. It is quite confusing! It's difficult to decide whether or not I am a fan of those white pointy canopies or not. From the inside, I couldn't understand the aesthetics. Reminds me of the circus' big top, but with many mini-tops! Those canvas tops represent two things: the snow-capped mountains and the Native American tepees. Elrey Borge Jeppesen was an aviator who set standards for safety in the early days. There's an exhibit located on level 6 at the north end of the terminal. I missed finding it! In one of my TSA pictures, to the left of the American Flag, there's a statue, I think that is where I should have gone. Didn't realize it until I got home and looked closely at my pictures. Jeppesen moved from Salt Lake City to Denver in 1941. He is an important figure in the Colorado aviation history. According to the internet, there are 6 levels in this terminal. As I wandered, it only felt like 3 levels. I was in shock with how crowded TSA was at 9AM on the floor below where I entered after being dropped off. You can get a good view of both sides, North & South. Thanks to my son, he told me I could go to "The Bridge". I stayed on the entrance level and walked over to the bridge and eased my way through the very short TSA Checkpoint lines. Yay!! In going this way, I was already at Concourse A. I only needed to take the Train past Concourse B to Concourse C where my gate was. If you read this and it is helpful for you when you leave Denver, you're welcome! I'm one of those odd people who wants to explore the airport rather than solely use it for travel. I arrived at the airport early for my flight home so I could see the shops! The plane was beginning the boarding process when I arrived at Concourse C! I just about took too long meandering!

I don't usually end up down here but it's way less crowded than any other time I've had a flight in different parts of the airport and I'm loving how they have the seating socially distanced. I'd pay extra to get this terminal again under the same circumstances. Love it. There's also a handful of empty restaurants down here and very quiet bathrooms as well.

Everything was on time and the first flight crew was great. The next flight out, the crew was equally great, the boarding process was fast, and the flight arrived early. Hard to beat that. They also were offering a $1500 travel credit if someone gave up their seat, but on the heels on a fun but mildly exhausting trip, I couldn't rally for it. Just wasn't in the cards this time but I appreciate them not crapping out a low ball offer like I've seen from Southwest where they roll a few points onto your account. $1500 is a real, "we mean business" kind of offer which is a good sign. In an era of consolidated airlines and travel delays, this was a welcome breath of fresh air. I probably need more info to really gauge it, but glad to try them out recently.

I flew one of their small CRJ jets. And while I'm diehard Delta, United's CRJs are a million times nicer and more updated than Deltas. No janky seats that are broken and leaning backward even when not reclined. Nice, new upholstery. Very clean. And a better designed flight attendant galley. They even have an open and free snack shop in first class, with cookies, candy, etc. I didn't check a bag because it was only a 30 hour trip and I packed a backpack. Another nice thing is that unlike Delta's/West Jet's CRJs, you can actually fit your personal item under the seat. Flight attendants were kind and helpful. Pilots kept us informed.

Located on the West side of C Concourse, there is an XpressSpa Massage Center if you're feeling stressed after having a connection flight, as well as landing in. There is a wonderful local brewhouse called "The Great Divide," with wonderful mountaineer themed yeti restaurant. Not feeling very meaty? Continue down to the West side of the gates to C27, and for a Modern Market, a few stop shops with salads and other quick convenient stores. Southwest Airlines is your primary airline at this gate and you will see the gate agents sanitizing everything down.
