These green beans are then blended and roasted fresh to order at our Australian roasting warehouses.
The company established a Green Bean Purchasing division - My Crop to Cup in 2010, dedicated to pursuing ethically responsible direct trade opportunities throughout the world's coffee growing regions. This program enables the company to work one-on-one with farmers, sourcing the best quality beans and purchasing them directly from the farm at prices that reflect the high quality of their stock. Founded by Phillip Di Bella in 2002, the company has grown from a boutique coffee retailer to a national company that supplies coffee to more than 1200 cafes throughout Australia, New Zealand, China and India.

Founded by Phillip Di Bella in Brisbane in 2002, Di Bella Coffee was first established as a small coffee-roasting operation in the suburbs of Brisbane. In the beginning, Phillip Di Bella walked the streets, knocking on doors to get cafes and restaurants to buy his coffee. Phillip quickly caught the attention of local cafés with his enthusiasm for not only his product, but customer service as well, and quickly became a key player in the local coffee scene.
Throughout the following 10 years the company proceeded to expand at an extraordinary speed. This growth was even recognised in the BRW Fast 100 for 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 and Di Bella Coffee is the only coffee company to make the list in consecutive years. More recently, Phillip was a finalist in the 2012 National Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards and Di Bella Coffee continues to triumph year-after-year at the prestigious annual Golden Bean Awards, regarded as the largest coffee roasting competition in the world.
Meet the Business Owner: Phillip Di Bella D.
Phillip Di Bella's love for coffee stemmed from an early age, when he would prepare and serve Italian-style coffee to guests at his family's Brisbane home. His natural people skills led to a career in hospitality and nine years at Brisbane landmark Cosmopolitan Cafe where he earned a reputation for his coffee skills and outstanding customer service. In 2002, Phillip's passion for coffee and entrepreneurial spirit led him to start up a small coffee-roasting operation in the suburbs of Brisbane, leasing a roaster part-time, working nights and going door-to-door to attract clients by day. While steadily building up Di Bella Coffee's wholesale customer base, Phillip sold his house and established a commercial premise in Bowen Hills from which to run the operation, living onsite and dedicated all of his waking hours to building the business.
Today, Di Bella Coffee is one of Australia's most awarded specialty coffee companies, with the company recently expanding into India and China.
