I missed a package on the 29th, I live in an apartment building so they just left a notice on my mailbox. I paid duties online and arranged to have the package sent again on my only day off this week. Waiting at home I was watching the DHL updates on their website. I saw that my package was out for delivery and got my proper documents ready for them. I refresh the website and see that the delivery failed and I was not at home. No buzz or even an attempt to call. Even though all the numbers and secondary contact are on the package. I immediately run downstairs to see if anyone attempted to leave a note or if the truck was still outside. Nothing, no notice. I call support and they state there was NOTHING that could be done, and that I would have to schedule another date to receive the package. They told me that because I paid online and updated my info (to the EXACT same initial info on the package) that the driver didn't know the buzzer code. Buzzer code is on the package, they left a note on the correct mailbox last time so they know the apartment, and the buzzer code is the exact same. Again after talking to the operator that this was my only day off, and having it wasted waiting for a package that never arrived, that I would not be able to pick up the package until the next day. Again repeating that they could do nothing. So my only options are to wait to have my package most likely not delivered and waste another day, or to drive down and waste money going to the pickup location to get my package. Very unresponsive to correct anything. I will never choose DHL as an option again! Too many other companies willing to take the time to buzz my apartment. read more

I am located in northern Canada and I ordered an item from the USA. It has arrived in Edmonton. I have now had 4 phone calls with DHL (Brampton location) advising me that I need to engage their brokerage service. The local (Yellowknife) Canadian border service agency office here in Yellowknife tells me I can handle this myself. They have given me the information to obtain from DHL. No luck!! I have requested the information be sent to me per email and this has not occurred. I am repeatedly speaking with men with difficult-to-understand accents which makes me wonder if I am dealing with a call centre located outside Canada. I am frustrated that I have now been online daily for the past few days and no resolve or assistance as requested. Follow up: Registered a complaint with DHL and received a call (good English spoken) and follow up was promised. The issue has now been resolved. It seems that DHL works well outside of Canada but as soon as your parcel enters Canada it's really bad. I've use DHL and it went bad 2 times out of 2. As soon as something is not perfect (i.e. wrong address), there is no "EXPRESS" anymore. The customer service is from 9 to 5 and by phone which I dislike, I prefer email. There is 24 hours to 48 hours delays to get answers from customer service and their answer made me feel like it's my fault (The provider of goods made a small mistake). I can't even BELIEVE how horrible my experience has been with DHL. I was home, waiting for a scheduled delivery to arrive of a Christmas present. Noticed on the tracker that the shipment had gone suddenly from "Out with Courier for delivery" to "Delivered". No courier showed up, no truck came by, nothing. Figuring this must be a mistake, I called immediately to let them know about the error, and considering it was under 5 minutes from delivery time, assumed they could contact the driver to correct his mistake, as it had clearly been delivered to the wrong address. I downloaded and looked at the signature receipt, which, oddly, was just two lines across the signature section. Strange. I did not know what I was in for. Given a constant run around on the phone. Transferred endlessly to my "Specialist" whose voicemail box was full for a week, then was on vacation, then was out sick, and never called me back once after I finally managed to leave messages. Finally received a call one morning, but I was in the Subway. The message said "We just wanted to confirm you had received your package! Thanks!" which, obviously, I hadn't. Called them back immediately, and was told to disregard that message, and that I would be contacted 4 days later with an update. In short, they didn't contact me with an update. I have had to hound them constantly to get any information, or get anything done, or speak to anyone. They've told me everything from "The package is probably still at the depot" (which, why would it be, because it was marked delivered and signed for? Why would the driver do that?), to "it's probably left around your property, go check!" (umm, my door is clearly labelled and addressed, why would the driver sneak onto my property silently and hide my package like this is an easter egg hunt?), to insisting that it WAS delivered, but was left without signature (which, again, I SPECIFICALLY DID NOT AUTHORIZE, AND WAS HOME, AND NO DELIVERY PERSON SHOWED UP AT ALL). At this point, it seems like they're trying ANYTHING possible to not take responsibility or give me an answer for what happened. I've had to call them every day trying to actually speak with someone, only to be passed around, put on hold for up to 40 mins, told they're waiting to hear back from the depot, the driver, etc, on and on and on. At this point it is apparently going to be going on two weeks of this before I actually get any sort of resolution, and they're still giving me a complete run around. I get it's the holiday season, and they're busy, but regardless it's still horrible customer service when they can't resolve the issue, call people at promised scheduled times, return voicemails, and lose Christmas presents. I just want this resolved. I want the huge amount of money I paid them for shipping, duties, taxes, fees, etc. back for a package they did not deliver, can't track down, and clearly gave to someone else. I want to NEVER, EVER have to call them again. I would like some accountability. I guess I'll have to wait and see if I get any of those and just keep calling, because at this point I really feel stolen from by this company. Oh, and to add to this, this is the SECOND time they've done this to a package I've ordered, but the first time I had actually authorized them to leave without a signature so I had assumed something else might have happened. I had placed an order through amazon , shipped cleared customs,paid duties then out for delivery, waiting... waiting... customer refused delivery.... But nobody came to deliver the parcel... ok maybe tomorrow.. then i recieve a tracking update saying undeliverable, nobody came to the house or left a slip in the PO box and immediately no second tries no phone calls no refunds parcel is being returned... Garbage courier. Seriously, avoid at all costs (which there are many of compared to other couriers). Express shipping is anything but. Paid extra for it and it sat 20 minutes from my house for 3 days after clearing customs and paying the duties, tariffs, and taxes other couriers don't demand up front (plus the cost of the shipping). We had a package overnighted from New York to Toronto, and with a misdelivery mishap in the morning, DHL was SO helpful in understanding the urgency of getting the package later that day in a timely manner, and executing the redelivery/pick-up. After numerous phone calls, they were able to contact dispatch, get a hold of the truck driver and have us meet him there to get the package ourselves just in time. Thanks DHL! read more

THIS IS THE WORST CARRIER COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! I understand that it is high season and expect delays for my package but this company has been toying with me EVERY SINGLE DAY!! There was an attempt in delivery last Friday on Dec. 7, however, the driver cannot find the high rise apartment building I live in. So I called Monday to verify all the information and was told that the package cannot be delivered for Tues and I have to wait for Weds. Hello everyone, I am writing this review not on receiving packages but trying to set up an account with DHL.So over the weekend, I sent an email to DHL regarding opening and account and receiving special discounts due to my volume of packages.I told them my discounts that I have been receiving from FedEx(Which were big discounts) and they told me they were happy to give me DHL discounts similar to what FedEx was offering.Later on, I received an email from a kind rep of the name Marc. He was very helpful and was ready to set up the account for me and apply the discounts.Later to find out , in order to actually make an account or to receive discounts with DHL you need to have a registered Business in Canada? What kind of BS is that? So they are pretty much saying if you want to ship small bulk or your family lives on the other side of the world and you send packages to them regularly you need to be a registered business in Canada?FedEx, Purolator and UPS do not even require you to do this.I was so excited to us DHL and then this happens. DHL will loose out on a lot of opportunities if they keep this policy. If anyone is wondering why I wanted to use DHL even though I was receiving discounts from FedEx, it is always better to have more than 1 courier to compare rates and service. By all means I love FedEx but just wanted to try something different from the request of my customers on eBay. In the end, I am not saying DHL service is horrible, in fact the CS was excellent but management needs to make some changes here, for sure. read more

What an unprofessional company. I'm never using DHL again. I sent a package to my home address from China, It arrived express in 5 days. It has been sitting in the DHL office for 20 DAYS! Are you kidding me???? I have lost money by them keeping it there. I paid the duties and taxes and sent them documents to let it clear. Waited a week and called and the lady said nobody was attending my case..... then I had to fill out some other POA form argue that it was for a personal use not a business and not they "reassessed" my shipment and want me to pay another $70 or I won't receive it. I bought some products online and the seller, without asking me, decided it was a nice gesture to send the items through courier, even though I had paid for regular international mail to Canada. They used DHL for shipping and DHL charges a minimum of $14 plus tax in addition to the taxes and duties I owed Canada Customs. So, if you live in Canada, you have 2 choices: keep your purchase under $20 or buy enough to justify paying DHL's fees. Keep in mind they charge 2.5% of the product value or $10, whichever is highest + $4 C.O.D. fee + taxes. And when you call to ask them why are you paying $28 on a $36 package, they will tell you to take it with the government because taxes are so high. Then they tell you that, if you lived in the US, your threshold would be so much higher so the problem is that you live in Canada, even though the actual taxes are only $12 and the rest are their ridiculous fees. The DHL person I spoke to said they get lots of upset calls about their fees but; from what I gather, people pay them because they have little choice. What is the point of buying things online if you have to pay double the original price in the long run? They already got payment for their services by the seller but I'm pretty sure I will be stuck with the useless DHL $16 fee for simply knocking at my door and spending a minute at the customs counter. I know it's a matter of 1 minute because I have done my own brokerage at customs close to the Toronto airport and it literally takes no time. I can't do that now because I moved to a town 3 hours away from the GTA and I don't drive. Otherwise I would be there in a heartbeat. It's worth the drive just to make a point if you are close by. DHL suggested I should refuse the package to avoid the fees and offered no other solution. My experience with FEDEX and UPS is that they are more understanding and will meet you in the middle depending on what you bought. They do have fees per line in the invoice and other stuff but they understand when their fees are just too high and will at least try and help you out. read more

I never used DHL before, but this time I didn't really have a choice for shipping method. I place my order on Saturday and look online for delivery standard of DHL Express, should be 2 days and since I'm going on vacation for the week I decide to put my secondary address instead, where I'll be for vacation, so I can pick up the delivery in person. Monday everything goes as planned and retailer ship quickly in the morning, DHL pick up in the afternoon and get processed in the evening, move through Italy, Germany and finally the UK before supposedly being exported to canada. Second day, tracking finally update to "Custom Status Updated". Thinking it was finally in Canada, I keep going on my day, at noon I check tracking and it still didn't move, so I give a call to DHL Express Canada. The guy tell me I have customs fees to pay, but tell me there was technical issues so he couldn't look up the total amount and that's probably why it wasn't updated. After that I'm kinda concerned and keep checking the tracking. Wednesday morning I wake up on a text message saying my shipment have $163.39 of brokerage fees, kinda exagerated for a $420 value package, I pay anyway because I just want it to move at this point. No updates during the day so I give DHL another call, we are quick to tell me that in fact it missed the plane in the UK and I would get it by tomorrow by end of the day. I wait. Thursday morning I notice it finally made it into canada in the night and processed at a facility earlier in the morning, at this point I'm awaiting a "Out For Delivery" notification. Instead I get a "Shipment on hold" notification with details stating it would be delivered "by Friday in AM". Friday when I check my tracking again, it's not out for delivery, but tracking stated "Address information needed, contact DHL", didn't really want to call again since I probably called them 15 times in a week, but I called anyway. Guy simply confirms the address with me then say I should get it today. 15 minutes later I get a notification saying they couldn't deliver my package because they can't find my address, I'm pissed off and call back, same guy, confirm address again and he says everything should be okay, I'll get it today for sure, I told him if the driver can't find my address to give me a call, tells me he's going to contact the driver about it. Later I check my phone and notice another package I have coming from DHL express is "With delivery courrier" but my main package is still not coming. Call DHL again, I'm being told it's because my main package only cleared customs yesterday (Thursday) which wasn't true, it cleared customs in the night from Wednesday through Thursday and knew it had well enough time during a full day to process. I'm really pissed, I don't wanna argue with the guy on the phone since he won't do anything anyway. I won't be there to pick up package so I had to change the address, it was meant to be delivered on Wednesday, now it's Saturday I still have nothing and I admit I'm not expecting it on Monday, a delay is more than likely at this point. read more

My pkg took 3 days to arrive from China. Then it took 3 weeks, 8 phone calls, 2 online requests, referred to a DHL agent, 2 calls from China.....to try & get it out to me. I didn't even know it was being initally held & had 30.00 duty owing till I inadvertently checked their website when it didn't arrive after a couple of weeks. So online I paid that & also completed a form authorizing them to leave it at the back door if I wasn't home (they immediately acknowledged both the pymt & the form in writing). Yet every day since there was a new entry on their website, no matter what I did or who I spoke to that assured me it was resolved....that showed they were waiting for me to pick it up. 90 miles away! Wish I could give zero stars. Having DHL as the shipper is enough of a reason for me not to purchase from a vendor in the future. Their customer service representatives give conflicting information, I've called them three times and am still having issues. Their drivers clearly don't know how to use a map or a GPS, or don't care enough to so they just give up on a shipment saying the address does not exist. No other company has ever had this issue - or anyone else who uses any maps program to find my address. I had to arrange to pick up the package myself, and I still have to wait to see if that was done correctly. Clearly not worth the hassle in the future. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had. I paid for 3 day shipping. It has currently been 7 business days and I still don't have my package. It was suppose to arrive June 2nd but since then there has been no update on the webpage. When I call the people on the phone can only tell me what I can see on the website or that "we don't currently know where the package is" . For more information I am told an "International specialist" has been assigned to my case. I have never been able to get in contact with this person "Nancy" I have left countless voice mails and receive nothing in return. If will do whatever I can to not deal with DHL ever again. WORST DELIVERY COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER--- I decided to buy my boyfriend a nice gift for his birthday and the company I bought it from uses DHL Express for their shipping. It originally said my package would arrive on a Friday-- I had set the address as my parents address as my step-dad works from home on Fridays and would be available to sign for the package. At 6:15pm on that Friday I received a text update stating that the driver marked my address as "incorrect" and could not deliver package. I called DHL and asked what happened as the address on file was correct-- the rep googled the address and said it was valid and that the address I told him matched the one on file. They apologized for it and said that the driver would unlikely return back that same night to deliver it. I asked them to change it to my address as I would be home for it to be delivered on Monday instead so I could sign for it-- the person I spoke to said it would be no issue. After hanging up a bit later I received a confirmation of my package arrival through email -- it said it would be delivered on Tuesday, not Monday as the person said it would. I called again and spoke to a lady who explained that when you change the address it takes 48 hours to "redirect" the package-- I told her about my inconveniences and she said that unfortunately she could not change in the computer to have it say deliver Monday instead of Tuesday but she said she would make a formal comment to the delivery guys to have it sent out on Monday for me. So Monday rolled around (I made sure to stay home all day) and it never arrived and my tracking said it was still at the sorting facility-- so I called again. They explained that my package was either still sitting there OR one of the drivers picked it up and forgot to scan the package to say it was picked up-- so in other words they had NO IDEA where my package was. They said I would be contacted within 24HRS to notify me of where my package was... I told them that I was supposed to get my package TODAY, so why was I getting a phone call in 24HRS. Finally I got in contact with the Manager of Customer Service and explained what has happened. He apologized and said someone would call me in 2HRS with an update. I got an email 3HRS later stating that they still didn't know where my package was and that someone would contact me soon to let me know. It's now been 9HRS since I was supposed to be contacted and I STILL don't know where my package is and it was supposed to be delivered Friday and It's now 11:00PM on Tuesday. read more

Package was delivered by DHL on a Friday, there were COD charges which I paid for with VISA. The drive was not able to give me a receipt because the machine was out of paper. On Monday I checked my VISA balance online and saw 2 charges one Friday and one Saturday?? Called DHL and was told to email and that I would receive a response the same day, surprise surprise no response. Called again and was told that I should speak to the accounting dept but they are now closed. Called the next day and spoke with accounting, I am told I must provide proof that I have been charged and that they have no way of looking up the information (complete and utter BS). I ordered somethings from Thinkgeek that used this company to ship. Thinkgeek didn't ask for a buzzer code (I live in an apartment), but apparently DHL needs it. They wouldn't deliver it without one, even though my name is on the door. When I called to give it to them I was informed that if I wasn't home to accept it, it would be sent back to a holding center an hour and a half away. There is a center in the town I live in but for some reason they have to send it 1.5 hours away. So now I have to take a day off work to receive the package or drive 1.5 hours to go get it. They would not send it to the depot in my city. They also charged an extra $30 "duty" fee. We got a break down of it and found the following: $0.21 Duty 15.26 GST $10 GST processing fee $4.25 fee for collecting the payment. while half is the taxes the other half is just random extra charges for having to "collect the fee". On top of that it was sent to a workplace instead of our home so we could actually be there to receive the package. They came at 12:30 pm during lunch so I personally missed them, but had pre-paid the duty so they would just leave it. They refused to leave the package and are now sending it to Brampton (I'm in London). Ridiculous. This is my worst delivery experience ever. read more

Ordered a package from China, it arrived here in less than a week. Paid all fees requested but canada customs required more info. Thats fine should be easy right? NOPE! Spent the next 3 weeks speaking with their brokerage dept for original reciepts from paypal etc. It took 3 additional phone calls and 4 business days for DHL to even send me the first power of brokerage paperwork! Twice their service rep told me a package would be shipped to their office in downtown Toronto, but it's still in their Brampton location. I phoned them again, and they asked me if I could pick it up in Brampton. What the hell kind of courier service is that, if you have to go pick it up yourself? UPDATE: My couch is now lost. They are "searching the warehouse" for it. No estimated delivery. Nothing. The couch has a tracker on it. How can you possibly lose that? I've never felt the need to write a negative review. As someone that works in hospitality, I understand there are off days, black sheep employees, and all in all dealing with peoples' problems is generally draining. But the horrible attitude towards their customers makes DHL top the list of companies I would write a less-than-flattering review about. I ordered a sofa from the US, and everything started off swimmingly: the order was processed in a timely manner, the shipment arrived in Brampton, and the package tracking was working fine. But then I get an email around 4:30 am alerting me that my package is being delivered later that day. I live alone and work 10-13 hours a day, and so there was just no way for me to accommodate such a short warning. So I called them and asked if there was anything they could do. The best was to strike the current delivery and redeliver on Tuesday, to which I agreed. I was given a window of delivery of 2pm to 6pm, with the fine print that "there is no guarantee it will arrive in that window. It could be earlier, it could be later." Great. Makes the concept of having a window of delivery completely pointless. Not wanting to leave a $700 sofa sitting on my porch, I took the day off from work so I could be there to take in the sofa. So there I waited. And waited. And waited. 6 pm rolls around and I am mildly upset. A 10 hour shift is almost $250 for me and this cost me all of that income, an implied cost for nothing. I call DHL to get to the bottom of this. The gentleman on the other end of the phone has less than stellar English and answered the phone in French. Interesting, since they ask you your language preference at the beginning of that God-forsaken automated answering machine. Nonetheless, he made an attempt to help me. He tells me that the package never even left the warehouse that day. Not only that, but he says it was scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday. Hold the phone, I definitely had made arrangements to have it delivered Tuesday. And they can check their recordings of our calls if they don't believe me. So now, I have a sofa scheduled to be delivered while I'm at work for another 10-13 hours. I ask if there is anyway to reschedule the delivery for next Tuesday (since Tuesdays are the best day for me to take off anyway). I am told no, and that the delivery on Wednesday will continue as planned. Why? I just told you I'm not there, and that the delivery definitely won't be completed, and you insist on keeping that schedule? The package is still in the warehouse for God's sake, you even just told me so yourself. So now they have themselves to blame when this package comes back as a failed delivery. I ask if I can, in any way, have it rescheduled, and I am presented with the option of picking it up in person. Picking up a sofa. From Brampton. In person. Does this even make sense? Why would you even offer that as a suggestion? At this point, I feel defeated and just insulted that they think so little of their customers and how unaccommodating they are to even continue the conversation. I heave a sigh and decide to leave this poor soul alone, cursed with working at this awful company. Did I mention that I never received a single apology along any step of the way for their blunders? If this is how they expect a business to run, they are sorely mistaken. With more reliable competition like UPS, I would never take up DHL as a viable shipping method again, and I urge anyone else considering them as a potential delivery service to reconsider. read more

The absolute worst shipping company EVER. A nightmare to deal with. I ship packages to overseas all the time, mostly documents, prints and sometimes antique magazines or arts. On July 19, 2013 I shipped an express package from Toronto Canada to Tehran which should of been delivered in 4 business days. Tracking showed that my package entered their sort facility in AE _HUB & GATEWAYS on July 23 and after that no further activities were showing on the tracking page. I started calling them a few days later to find out whats going on. Each time they said someone will call me back and no one did. On Aug 1, 2013 i got fed up and called the customer service line and demanded an answer. They put me on hold for 35 minutes and came back to tell me that my package has gone missing... Missing??? how can that be? I told them that the package contained magazines that were worth a lot of money and I find it hard to believe that they have just vanished in the thin air. They said that they just don't have any scans or traces of my package once it entered their facility in Dubai. It seems clear to me that someone had stolen my package. The customer service advised me to start a claim and sent me the claims forms. I filled them out and emailed them to the address on the form, I also faxed them to the number on the form to be safe. Needless to say that to this date (Aug 22, 2013) I have not heard back from them. I have called many times, they keep on saying that their claims specialist will call me back... I keep waiting and nothing... I would never send anything anywhere with DHL again... Their customer service is a nightmare and their employees at their sort facility are thieves... This is probably one of the worst couriers. When I tracked this package Monday I was happy that it was with the courier already. I got an unknown caller on Tuesday and never knew it was DHL calling because there was no caller ID. I dont know whats more obvious but my name actually appears in the intercom system, never left a yellow note at all. I didnt know what was happening until I called on Wednesday and they said they needed a buzz code. So I gave. Then they said I needed to pay taxes and fees on failed delieveries! I did all of these online as well. Thursday I tracked my package and its still ON HOLD. So I called them again and found out that my buzz code was not added to their system so they cannot deliver it that day. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! How many more people should I call and tell the f*cking buzz code. Atleast read the names in the intercom! So I gave the buzz code again to the lady and she said she was going to add it and hopeful that Friday they will be able to send it. If I couldve chosen what courier the online store was sending it with, I will never ever choose DHL. read more

I have used DHL at least three times and have been disappointed the same amount. The third time I used DHL is last winter vacation. This is the case that I decided to show how irresponsible they are. I am expecting a package on the 24 December 2013. Alas, I had to leave on that day for vacation also by catching a bus by leaving at 3.30pm. I had consulted them about the custom fees and they told me to pay online, so I did on the 23 just in case I had something and cannot pay on the spot. Also, I specifically request them to deliver it as soon as possible since I had to leave later on the day. It turned out the package came at 3.40pm. It was 10mins after I left, which I understood since they probably had many deliveries to make for Christmas, but what I did not understand was they did not leave the package to the doorman since I wasnt home to pay the custom fees. It is funny since I called them on the 24 morning to ask if my payment went through and it did. I called them again to specifically told them that I had paid the package and to just leave it to the doorman on the next delivery the 27 since I wouldn't be home and I would not go to their far-away store to pick it up. They said yes they had put the note. On the 27, still they did not leave the package because I wasn't home to pay the fees. I was really mad and called them the coming monday since they are not available on weekends to ask the reason. They said the delivery guy did not know and I MYSELF had to give the receipt to the guy. I was really pi-ssed. What kind of company is that? I paid it a week ago and they dont even have access to it? Also, with all the instruction and calls I gave them they can't even understand the note I gave them? I told them their system is obsolete and I am going to receive it on monday the time I came back the 6th. Still with note to leave it to the doorman. So, on monday early morning I checked the status online and it said it was on hold at 5 in the morning. I smell something fishy but did nothing until 10am since that is the time they usually start delivery (HUH? No wonder we always receive deliveries late but not later after working hours - I guess delivery companies do not have enough brain to satisfy customers). So I called them for 100th time (exagerate also because you have to deal so long with the machine and their add before talking to their representative to ask what happen there. With long connection, it turns out that there is something with the ...holder.. Bla bla bla.. that the shipment is scheduled for TOMORROW. I can't hold my anger anymore!!! So, I called their branch store that is far-away and told them this "I had scheduled a delivery today and I had to cancel all of my appointments for it and you just told me that I had to wait for it until tomorrow? I am telling you, I am really DISAPPOINTED at your service and I don't care you tell you driver to take my package now and put it in the car and deliver it to me today!". Then he said, "Mam, can you please call back in a second!" And he hung up! I called back of course! The next guy then told me that it will be delivered on that day and I will receive it today! I made him promise me that while asking his name. Later that day I received my package without even calling me and without even checking the receipt I left to the doorman. Then on Tuesday they called me to tell me my package is delivered! This time I know I had the right to be mad for this DHL and just so you know I had hold myself from using any dirty words that they deserve in all calls I made for them! Ordered something via borderfree service from the US and was never delivered. After waiting a week or so for the package to arrive I decided to track my parcel. To my surprise the tracking system indicated that the package had been delivered to my house and was signed for it. I looked at the signature and it said NSR. NO PARCEL to be found! I am hoping to speak to someone from DHL tomorrow (when they open) and hopefully they can solve the mystery of my missing parcel. read more

I honestly didn't know a person could receive service as poorly as I have with DHL express. This is my very 1st review of any company and felt I needed to warn people and the customer care I have received warrants this action. I had made a purchase from the states and DHL is the companies chosen courier service. on Monday I received a 'sorry we missed you' slip on my door. not a problem as I went on their website and tried to have it rerouted to my work address as to not miss it again. Tuesday arrive home too another slip stuck to my door with a 'last try'. so I contact DHL to find out that their records indicated that the package had been delivery on Monday and the driver signed off stated it was left in secure location WTF!! well why did they try to redeliver on Tuesday then and to think some employee their at DHL had the nerve to leave me a message on Tuesday PRIOR to the 2nd attempt of delivery.... stated package was delivered Monday and I owed the duties and tax money. so for 2 days I have been calling and asking what is happened with the purchase I made and paid for that they were to deliver. they still can't figure out what happened and each time I call they begin telling me it was delivered on Monday until I state 'then why did you try to redeliver on Tuesday' then I get ''''oh that's strange''' placed on hold and then they come back and say someone will be in touch. I have asked to speak with managers and they refuse to allow me to speak with one. At this time there is still no word on where my package is but instead it's a 'we have to find the driver to speak with'. refusals for upper manager (never asked for owner just manager) and total lies on when they will return my calls. DHL is terrible. I have 3 shipments from Amazon Japan, it takes 2 days from Japan to DHL Brampton, and a week so far i still have not received my package. They will not deliver to my first address for some reason, then i changed my address to my friend, but they keep saying address is WRONG, i called many times to confirm, address is correct and representative has no idea why it is wrong. The other thing is DHL driver is really lazy, he probably just drive to your condo and wont even bother to talk to security. He left 'Recipient refused delivery 'twice, but the security says NO DHL ever come. Their custom service sucks too. There is an Indian lady called me just now, ask me to pick it up, she sounds pretty impatient to me, i am the one being screwed, no idea why she is upset. I told her no i cant because the nearest DHL which is Bramton DHL takes me about 2 hours for a round trip. Then she said something i cant understand and hung up. This is probably the worst delivery company in the whole entire world. My package made it from China to Calgary, Alberta in a few days and once DHL got ahold of it every thing went wrong. They had my package for over a week and they needed me to pay import fees, but no one thought to call me. Once I called them and paid the fees that same day, they kept my package for another week. Every time I called they said it would be delivered that day, for 5 days they said this. You could walk from Calgary to my house in 5 days. At one point one for their employees told me "we really don't know where your package is".. 800$ worth of goods that they just could not find. If you care about what you are shipping then do not ship it with this company they are completely incompetent, I would have more confidence in a carrier pigeon. read more

I am not usually the one to post bad reviews, but DHL wouldn't be the company to recommend for delivery services. In our building we had two troubles already with this company. First time, the driver checked online that he rang the bell and that no one was there, while I was there and we checked on the security camera he never even came near the building. And second time, they left the package by the door because no signature was required and apparently this is company policy. Their support is almost non existent. For this second matter, since it was left at the door, a neighbour took my package for safe keeping. In the meantime, thinking my package was missing I contacted them. It has been now 5 days and i am still hearing back for them. And for the support of my first trouble, where I waited an afternoon for nothing, Their answer for the matter, I couldn't make any complain because I wasn't the owner of the account. So if you are the recipient of a package and you have a trouble, know that there is nothing you will be able to do, except hoping the company you ordered with will take the time to try and compensate you.
