I recently used River City Mortgage for a mortgage on an investment property. They beat other…read morelenders in rates. Heather Witt was incredible to work with. I needed a quick close, and she went out of her way to ensure we met our timeline. Her communication throughout the process was great, and she was quick to answer any questions or concerns I had. River City Mortgage will be my first contact the next time we need a loan. The personalized cutting board was a surprise, thank you!

I would not trust this company. From start to finish there were many red flags that I kept…read moreoverlooking due to my situation and application being a tough loan to approve. I continued as I had invested so much time! I started with one loan officer who became aggressive verbally because I had legit questions about my loan that he didn't want to answer. He drove to my home yelling at me in front of my daughter outside of my car, then left driving quickly and yelling all the way up the street! I was then assigned a new loan officer who was very professional and polite the entire process UNTIL 3 weeks ago. I closed on my home 4/28 and moved in 5/1/ 2023. I am shocked and disappointed with certain companies who take advantage of their clients. I am sure it happens more than many realize. To make a very long situation as short as possible, the home I bought was a new build and the prior owner had only lived in it a little over a year, and since property taxes are 1 year behind, he was only paying for land. Dan Hunter assured me that they would access my property taxes as close as possible and between Title and River City not doing their job just to get a sale closed, I am now in a terrible spot due to a huge escrow shortage of 3213.59 and a increased payment of $480.81. Dan and I had several text messages and all he could do is blame the title company. This is unacceptable. I spoke to my mortgage company to where I pay my monthly payment, a real estate attorney, and other companies who are now trying to help me and I have heard the term " predatory lending" multiple times. I spoke with Dan on the phone hysterically crying and he mentioned they would try to help me, even if it meant they didn't make a penny lol, but next thing I know I am blocked from his cell. I called River City directly and ask to speak to Nick Hunter (his son) the owner 6 times. I was told he wasn't in the office, which was a lie. I ask for calls back, which I never received. There is nothing in writing stating that my payment would increase by almost 500.00. I even received a surplus check 3 months after I moved in from Carrington. I ask my mortgage company and Dan about it. I was told to cash it, even though Dan now says that he didn't tell me that. I even talked to the county auditor in Warren county and they said I should have already applied for an owner occupancy discount; which I knew nothing about. They stated that River City should have told me this. Oh and did I mention, that before I even knew that I had an escrow shortage, Dan had text me twice in a 2 week period and was incredibly pushing about doing a refinance for me. The rates he gave me are not found by one mortgage company. I was told, it is a way of these companies selling re fi's by buying points. I was about to get taken advantage of again. Every company I have spoken to states that River City needs to be ethical and make this right and to report them to BBB. I gave them every opportunity to fix this and keep me as a client, and they did not. What company blocks a client and the owner won't get on the phone nor return a call? I would say one with a guilty conscious. Run from this company!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon Amor and his…read moreteam were EXTREMELY helpful, he walked me through each step of the process, he answered the many questions I had, and he went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable with each step. I would highly recommend this lender. It did not matter if I had a question during business hours or not, he was very quick about answering emails and returning phone calls. I am overjoyed with my decision to work with this lender!

After sharing my frustrations with my realtor, she told me to call, Simon, at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. Hands down, one of the best decisions I could have made. Within minutes of reaching out to Simon, he was already reaching back. Our first phone call, even though it was ephemeral, made a long-lasting impression to me. Simon told me he and his company are consistently voted in the top tier of customer service. Certainly a title he wears with pride, and one he certainly lives up to. Here are some of the things Simon did that really stood out to me. 1. His rates. I'm not kidding when I say Simon saved me 2% interest on my loan. Not 0.2%. But 2 full % points. That's literally a savings of thousands every year. No lie. He saved me almost $200 a month compared to my other lender. If that's not taking care of your client, then I don't know what is. 2. His genuine customer service, and unwavering ability to pull a loan together. . I was NOT an easy loan for, Simon. I have enough student debt to buy a brand new Tesla. Not a cheap model 3 either. I could buy a nice Tesla SUV with the amount of student loans I have. I thought I would NEVER be able to buy a home. Yet, here we are. All thanks to Simon working his tail off for me. 3. His genuine customer service AGAIN. (His customer service easily deserves two mentions) My fiancé lost her job due to Civid19 in the middle of our home buying process. That put me, and my student loans at the forefront of the home buying process. My previous lender told me that my student loans would essentially disqualify me from buying a house, because my DTI was too high. But Simon?! Oh no. Simon kicked my student loans right in the face. No mercy. Bruce lee style. Every single issue that came up... I thought.. this is it.. I've lost my house. But not Simon. He would deliver me the bad news, and then come right back with... "this is how we fix it! Get these documents to me, and we will keep moving forward." Here I am. Sitting on my brand new back porch, writing the review for the person who made it happen for me. Simon could have given up at any moment. Straight up. When things got difficult and my fiancé lost her job and my student loans were piling up, he could have just checked out of our deal and moved on. But that's not who Simon is. He works with his clients, and for his clients, and he does so with pride. John Rockefeller once said: "The ability to work with people is as purchasable a commodity as coffee, or sugar, and I will pay more for that service, than any under the sun. Mr. Rockefeller unknowingly wrote this quote about Simon. I would have gladly paid more for his customer service. The best part is, I didn't have to. It all comes along with, Simon. No extra charge. This review won't pay back a 1/4 of what he's down for me and my family. Made what I thought was previously impossible, possible. I can't think you enough, Simon.

I had started with another mortgage company and due to their apprasiers my deal was looking like it was going to fall through. I had started 45 days out from expected closing, and was now down to TWO WEEKS. Now I am sure this isn't typical, but these guys PULLED IT OFF IN 2 weeks!!!!! From the minute I walked into their office I was greeting by a super sweet receptionist who offered me everything but the kitchen sink. Every single person I met and worked with here was so helpful and enthusiastic. It was like being part of the greatest team ever. They explained everything, which was important to a first time home buyer. They gave me lots of updates and never left me wondering where I stood. Once again as I sing their praises from the mountain tops, from the comfort of my gorgeous new home, THAT STILL CLOSED ON TIME, I tell you, USE THIS OFFICE!!!!!
