In May I went to Dexascan facility in Encino. The tech didn't know what he was doing and he didn't know how to go over the report and what the numbers meant. I filed a complaint and they refunded the fee. What a difference at DexaMinitor! The tech was very professional and knew what all the numbers meant. Excellent experience - so quick and easy. This was the first time I had ever gotten a DEXA scan. I have been losing weight, and I wanted to get a baseline to make sure I wasn't losing muscle as I did so. I arrived a little before my slotted time at 8:30, and they were just finishing up with another customer. We went into the scanner room right on time. The scan itself took about 5 minutes. Once the scanner passed over my head (probably 30 seconds in), I was told I was free to talk so long as I could keep myself from waving my arms around as I did so. The whole scan was over before I knew it. Then I hopped up and went over to the desk to talk through the results. I thought there may be some catch or upsell at that point, but nope - just a sensible explanation of all the stuff that was on the report with a little friendly advice about making sure I keep getting enough protein in my diet. Got my report put in a nice folder and was on my way out. The report was also emailed to me within minutes of leaving. Absolutely wonderful place and I plan on going quarterly. read more

This is the most valuable tool imaginable if you are trying to lose weight. Scales won't tell you what you need to know. My girlfriend and I went in and had our initial scan. We left knowing to the gram what our visceral, subcutaneous fat levels, our muscle mass, bone density, etc. were. We were given a calorie and protein limit to stick to. The rest was up to us. We started counting calories (forget trying to lose weight if you don't, it is only a pain in the rear the first week, after that you will find it easier). After three months we rescanned. We each had lost 12 pounds, BUT, we also lost 4-5 pounds of muscle. We were given an additional 200 calories a day and the next month we scanned again. We both lost another 3 pounds of fat, but gained back the lost muscle. So if we had just used a scale we would have thought we lost nothing. This is why the scan is so valuable. Five months in to our new lifestyle and we are both down 16 pounds of fat, cut the dangerous visceral fat by 60% so far, and added a few more pounds of muscle tissue. Absolutely do the monthly scan. Every three months or so is too long in-between to catch if you are going off track. You will get sound dieting advice, a metric and accountability system, and a better life!! Plus we save a ton of money since we want to eat out a lot less . More than pays for itself from food cost savings. Wife and I started watching a documentary on Netflix called you are what you eat. The doctors on the show were using Dexa scan and were very reliant on numbers so we wanted an accurate ongoing scans so looked around and found these guys. Scheduled appointments for both of us online and showed up to their office. It's in Suite 105, signage could be better but we found them. Kelly was the receptionist and Neto was the tech who did the scan. They were both very friendly and thorough which made the process much smoother. It takes 5-7 minutes for each scan, tall guys like myself takes about 7 but it's simple as you're just lying still on the bed. The numbers are incredibly accurate and eye opening. We signed up for the quarterly service. If you're looking for accurate readings, I highly recommend this place. read more
