The good: the doughnuts are generally fresh, the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good, and the service is friendly. The bad: the selection of types of doughnuts is extremely limited compared to a lot of other places (chain or independent), the coffee is extremely weak, and the cashier shoveling food into her mouth at the counter while watching television shows on her phone. I might have given Dev's 2.5 stars, but that isn't an option. I like this place, but health and food service codes definitely don't permit the eating of employee meals so close to the food you're serving. That's a major issue for me. read more

Yum! I spent some free time on Independence Day trying to cross off some random Cobb County spots that I had had bookmarked for way too long. After sadly finding out Dough in the Box was closed for the holiday weekend, I checked Dev's Donuts' facebook page and happily discovered that they were open for a half day for the holiday. Wondering what makes a half day when normal business hours are 5am-2pm and seeing the time approaching 11, I set my GPS to Dev's in a hurry. It's in a small storefront in a newer strip mall amidst some residential subdivisions. There are a couple of tables to eat in, but to-go seems to be the way to go here. Sadly, by the time I arrived, they were about to close, and they were down to less than two dozen donuts total, and they only had about four varieties. I went with a glazed chocolate cake donut, and at only 80 cents, it was a total steal. Light, fluffy, and not too sweet, it definitely blows the Dunkin' Donuts competition out of the water. Now, a Sublime or a Dutch Monkey it's not, but neither was it trying to be. This spot does classic, old fashioned donuts right, and at the right price. I probably won't make the drive all the way from Atlanta again (too many other doughnut spots to try!), but I would absolutely recommend this spot to Marietta locals. read more

Great little gem. Went on a Saturday with my two boys wanting donuts with sprinkles. Unfortunately they don't have a wide selection on Saturday, BUT the owner and her daughter are wonderfully accommodating and got my boys two donuts with chocolate frosting with sprinkles. My wife and I also got an assortment of a dozen donuts which included their scrumptious, worth their weight in gold, apple fritters, twist, vanilla cream filled, and a cinnamon roll. We also got two great cheesesteaks. Everything was great. Update: I'm unable to get my favorite donuts :( I drive all the way from midtown and no matter which time I come, they're out. I cried a few times. Bummer. I just moved to the Atlanta area from California. Finding donuts that are not dough heavy has been a difficult transition for me. I am used to the light, fluffy, crispy, and fried donuts. Turns out Dev is from California and makes the most amazing California Style donuts. Great man, will frequent often and use for every company gathering. Thank you so much Dev. Coming from Dallas, Texas, where we have a TON of family owned/run, freshly made donut shops, I was sad to see the abundance of Krispy Kremes and Dunkin Donuts, here in the ATL area. DD is absolutely nasty, with their frozen, shipped in donuts that taste of nothing but sugar, preservatives and frost bite. And KK has gotten way too "big", non-personal and expensive!!!!! So I did a search and found Dev's. I was so happy to find the little strip mall, and walk in and see something familiar! The smells of home. After they gave me a glazed donut to try for free, I knew I found my place. The owners, I discovered, are from Texas, too....which made so much sense that it felt like home. Lol. The homemade donuts, the prices, the employees/owners, are what will keep me going back!!! I've found my place...my home away from home.....even if it is a 10-15 min drive....it's totally worth it!! read more

Bought a dozen doughnuts which included cream filled doughnuts vanilla, chocolate and lemon. None of them had filling in them. I called to let owner know and she hung up on me. I called back twice and hung up on me both times. Have been there a few times and never had any problems. I was only trying to let them know a mistake was made. I will not be returning after this. Love this place and their donuts. They have quite a few variations that i haven't tried yet but hope to make my way through their selection in the future. Currently, I am obsessed with their glazed donuts - so delicious with right amount of glaze! As we order our dozen donuts, we can barely hold our excitement as the sweet fried cakes are placed into the box. Later we bring the donuts to my dear great grandmother and great aunt. We are pleasantly surprised to find a few complementary donut holes filling in the extra spaces! I take a bite into a strawberry frosted donut and my taste buds are awakened with the doughy inside and flavorful frosting. To my excitement, they are also topped with colorful rainbow sprinkles.
