The prices are $12 a pound, which seem fair considering you're paying $7-8 for a small 6 oz pack in the grocery store. Plus, you can't beat picking them fresh. There's a pond and picnic area to enjoy your fresh picked raspberries or a packed lunch, if you want to make an afternoon out of it. Not a lot of shade on the property, so if you go on a hot day be prepared with water at hats.

You have to book parking to be able to pick. Once you book parking, it's like the entrance fee. Then after you pay for the berries per the pound. And it ain't cheap per the pound, but you get to pick the raspberries you like and the fun experience with your family. You can pick as little or as much as you like. It was about $12/pound in July 2025. I honestly like the not so ripe ones, so I picked those. Bright pinkish red versus deep pinkish red. They give you a little orientation at the beginning. You're not supposed to eat the berries before paying. My poor toddler (1.5 years old), we had to try to teach him but he ate some raspberries and even some flowers, bugs, weeds and some dirt... lol. Luckily he didn't get sick or anything. After picking, you pay for it and walk down the food truck to buy a raspberry ice cream ($4) and a raspberry lemonade jar ($12). Both were super tasty, especially the raspberry lemonade. Add a little sparkling water, you got yourself such a refreshing summer drink! Fun event for the littles.

Following their posts is a good way, in addition to the website to get details on ticketed entry, status of the fields and other openings they might have through the year. It's how I found out they'd have an extra opened day on Monday July 3rd. I took the day off and was able to enjoy the fields, crowd free. They do limit the number of visitors and set a 75 timed entry window. You do a complete loop around the fields, but not walk through the rows or have any u-pick opportunities. The location up on a hillside with sweeping views guarantees you a gorgeous shot no matter where you're standing. The folks checking visitors in and running the farm stand were very nice and welcoming. I purchased some lavender honey and lavender scrub from their on-site store. I sampled their lavender essential oil as well-something they are very proud of! It was wonderful. A short tour is offered as part of your admission but I opted out. I didn't think I'd spend the entire time window here but did! Very peaceful and beautiful place. You can also bring a picnic lunch and they have some tables over by a small pond. Just an all around fantastic lavender experience.

While Dear Hubby and I were in Sonoma County for a quick trip, we had free time on Sunday to get out into the backroads and check out a few apple farms. Hale's is close to Santa Rosa, which made it convenient. They were decked out for Halloween, with various areas sporting giant spider figures, scarecrows, skeletons, and much more. Autumn décor, including pumpkins and apples were definitely part of the scene. Adjacent to their barn they had a station set up with very helpful staff offering samples of various varieties of apples. I loved that they had a number of the favorites I've experienced in SoCal's apple haven of Oak Glen (near Yucaipa). Yes, to Mutsu! Cameo! They also had others that I hadn't heard of, and already can't recall their names. Oh good, I found a chart online - Northern Spy is one I tried and bought. Sundance, maybe? Yikes! Hale's claims to grow 30 different varieties, and good for them. Good for you! An apple a day keeps the doctor away, as the old saying goes. No doctors for me for now - I'm enjoying usually one apple for breakfast and one for lunch. Hale's has kept me going for two weeks now. We especially enjoyed taking in their ambiance with my brother and sister-in-law, who live nearby, but hadn't been before. A great place to visit with family! If you're in the area, stop on by and enjoy the fresh air, the friendly folks helping you taste and purchase the goodness of Sonoma County fruit.

Today was almost 100 degrees and they were thoughtful enough to not have any appointments after 11:30am. When we arrived, we were the only ones it seems! We were greeted by 2 lovely ladies at the front entrance and took us on a quick tour of the farm and where to pick. During this month, blackberries, raspberries and apples were ready! We went with blackberries and apples. We sampled some fruits as we picked, delicious! After we were done picking, we were told to check out by the farm store. We went inside and check out the many goodies they sold (hats that turn into a fan, hand held fans, home made soaps, lavender sprays, baskets, tshirts, etc). We met the owner, Pandora. She was very sweet including her staff. Thank you for the most welcoming, intimate, U-PICK experience I have ever had!
