What a fantastic community space and outdoor recreation center! Totally makes winter in Minnesota…read moreeven better. I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. Can't wait for next ski season!

The building is a perfect space for bringing a large group together for games, chatting, eating, and sledding on the snowy hills just outside the doors. They used to serve hot food, but they no longer have that option. The food was not consistent or anything all that special, but it was a nice option. This time we brought Thanksgiving leftovers and some breakfast bagel sandwiches. The space is well maintained and clean. It is spacious and has lots of room for young kids to run around and not be a disturbance. Always look forward to coming here.

I'm not sure where to start with Staybridge. My check-in experience was a 1 star interaction,…read morewhich reflected a staff member who was not the friendliest or most helpful person I've encountered. That being said the rest of the staff I chatted with across a 10+ day stay were all very friendly. The accommodations were sufficient, and it felt like covid precautions were in place. The breakfast was reasonably robust for covid-times but evening social hours had been cancelled. The biggest hang up I had about Staybridge is how outdated it felt. It seems as though the hotel rooms had not been renovated since the late 90s or early 2000s. Finally, even though the room was generally clean, I wiped down the air vents, and the cloths were quite dirty. Aspects of this stay were not great, it overall it was a satisfactory stay.

The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because the housekeeper "Jenni" otherwise, over time,…read moreI'm so irritated of my stay. I had a garage fire just over a month ago, and my ALE (Renter's insurance) booked my stay at this hotel. Apon getting settled, I noticed there was water on the lower shelf. No biggie, I wiped it clean . Well, I ordered a pizza, and the next morning, it was drenched . I notified a maintenance guy about it a day goes by and nothing. 2 or 3 days later talked to Mike or someone at the front desk, and still nothing. So, eventually, I ran into Jenni (housekeeper) and she went directly and talked to management about the refrigerator and I also started getting annoyed of the toilet that makes a screeching noise until the tank is full. Nothing happened until I finally got annoyed enough to contact ALE solutions. I get a phone call back from the hotel, and they went on to say they had no records of myself making any such complaint(s), but they'll get on it.. oh, they did, too. I came back, and the toilet was fixed, and a new refrigerator was there. Now while I should of been satisfied I was so annoyed that I didn't say crap and basically called me a liar. Hell i didn't complain that the room I checked into was pretty dirty as far as the carpet went (looks like that room hasn't been used in a month). Then at one point, maintenance was in the middle of swapping locks from card to card tap sensors, and my door shut properly 60 percent of the time. So finally, I go and ask about getting checked into another room on Sunday and they turned me down. I basically was about to make a call to make other arrangements to go somewhere else, and I get a knock on my door that they'll move me . Okay, sweet. So I moved into this new room and while stuffy I was pretty happy. Well, then I get notified that I had to leave earlier and make other arrangements for another hotel while I was at work . A bit perplexed, I went to the hotel that night, and "Andrew" pulled up my account, and there were no notes, and my stay was approved until the 25th. So this morning, I get another call from "ALE" explaining that I need to be out by the 13th as the room is booked. Hey how about give that room 147 to those people since at least it was okay for me to put up with a dirty floor the first week (I didn't even complain about to you guys about, loud people that stayed up all night doing a boot dance of some sort for 2 weeks. Naw, the only thing of my initial gripe was water dumping all over my freaking food, and eventually, the toilet became ridiculously annoying. Hell I didn't complain about the construction workers using the two rooms and I( also agree with how he has had to do the renovations is the most bizarre way which becomes annoying for guests and difficult for contractors to get work done efficiently). Kim and Desiree didn't bother even trying to make any other arrangements nor seem concerned of the fact of any of the bs that I put up with what so ever. I'll never stay here, and I'll be sure to let others know of 2 weeks of bs I got to deal with. Don't worry, Kim and Desiree. I got plenty of pictures and videos to share with anyone who wants to know what a great 3 star hotel with such a caring accommoding management team you really are. Andrew cool , Anthony cool , Jenni exceptional cool! Decent breakfast though I get up for work at 4:30 so mainly took part of that on the weekends. Otherwise screw this place.
