We have lived at the Devonshire for five years. It is a safe, clean building that was fantastically run by a kind man who really looked after residents. Since Bozzuto has taken over, that has gone out the window. There is construction noise constantly, sometimes so deafening we can't hear each other from a few feet away. At $4k+ a month, I expect Bozzuto to do something to make up for the inconvenience. Taking a percentage off the rent would have been a good start. The staff are generally very nice, but very little mask compliance by the front door staff during COVID-19. Changes to the administrative tasks have been horrible. Residents frequently wait three hours to a full day to receive packages because Bozzuto management overloads the package handling on one staff member. He's a really nice guy who deserves better. The apartment itself is just fine. Secure and comfortable. Air conditioning and heat work very well. However twice now black mold has grown under our floors and is rapidly spreading. My husband has a severe mold allergy and even I am starting to feel unwell. Most recently maintenance visited us four days ago and assured us they would be in touch about a repair. As of this writing, there has been zero communication. We have loved living at the Devonshire for all our years here but it seems that it's joined the march of developers cutting corners and charging excessive rent. We won't be renewing our lease. UPDATE ON REPAIRS: We have now been forced out of our apartment for nine days. Management has put us in a guest apartment which has cost us a ton of money in groceries and supplies. There wasn't even soap provided for us. This is day three of management and maintenance assuring us that the repairs would be done today. I just walked in to find that the repairs that originally took place in the hallway have now extended to our bedroom. During a pandemic we've now had workmen handle our dresser, bookshelf, and most disgustingly our *bed linens*. Communication has been like pulling teeth. No updates when promised, no repair progress as promised. This is pathetic. DON'T MOVE IN until someone else takes this place over because Bozzuto is a joke.

No filter, no lie. Photo from 30th floor apartment.

I'm finally moving out of the Devonshire (and out of Boston). I've now lived here for 2.5 years and in 3 different apartments, and I've loved every moment of it. I'd still give it a 5 star and if I'm ever back in Boston, this is the only place I'd consider.

    570$ for this? Joke

We got here less than a week before before the COVID shut downs so we didn't get to use the amenities like the pool, gym, BBQ area but it all looked nice. While the apartments are nice, I would say the construction of the cabinetry or the appliances aren't quite the best quality, it all looks nice and it all works which is the most important thing. I've lived in apartment complexes before and some of them bank on hitting you for fees especially at move-in and move-out. This is not the case. The staff from the maintenance people to the management are attentive and actually care. A case in point: we had a cat which is $50/month pet me. He was an old man and got sick. We had to put him to rest. We had already paid our rent and they had no problem crediting back the monthly pet fee and adjusting the rate. There is a package locker here but most of the time the Amazon workers don't care and dump the packages in the lobby of the building you're in. No amount of correspondence from the management here could ever possibly rectify that because the people delivering the packages don't get paid enough to care. As a result, some packages end up in weird places. On a couple occasions someone from the staff had actually brought over some things outside our door, which was much appreciated especially during the height of the COVID outbreak when we were limiting our entrance and exit through common areas. The one time I had to file a noise complaint it was handled immediately. This is the place where you're walking around and the maintenance staff will ask you how you're doing. Stop and ask to see if everything is all good and make sure nothing doesn't need to be fixed. We moved out because we found our perfect home. We didn't hold our breath thinking they could re-lease the unit but we were able to get off the last month and one week of rent owed because someone leased the unit we vacated. We had no issue getting the deposit back - minus the replacement cost for the blinds our toddler broke. We really liked the short distance to the ALDI and Stop And Shop and other places. Would've loved to have been able to frequent the bar up the road, it was just opening up its outdoor space by the time we moved. A+ no regrets. Thanks Todd, Craig, and everyone else.

Long and thorough review alert!…read more About Me (what type of renter am I): With my job I relocate every 3 months and for the past ~2 years I've had no desire to stay at the same place for longer than 3 months. The key things I look for in an apt is safe, clean, affordable (can you even say this in MA lol), free parking, and my own bathroom (typically live with roommates). Wellington Place: I moved here Mar 2020, to take over someone's lease that lost their job. It fit the bill of what I was looking for, in addition to being in walking distance (within 10 minute walk) of my top grocery stores: Aldi, Trader Joes, and Stop & Shop. Its approx 15 min walk to Assembly Row, 5 min drive to Target and Costco, and 5 min drive to Wegmans. Its by far the most convenient location I've lived in within the US. Its a quick drive to Boston about 15-20 min drive and about 20 min drive to Burlington where I frequent for work. Lastly, its about 5 min walk to Orange line Wellington T stop. If you have a car, parking is plentiful here, no long treks to the car :). Aside from location I loved that they have trash and recycling drop off on each floor; hence, you don't have to worry about stepping foot outside to throw away trash. I'm an avid recycler so I loved that they had this option available (my previous apt in Burlington didn't). The rooms are huge. I have my office inside of my bedroom and a queen size bed and I still have more space. I also have a good size walk-in closet. However, my roommate's room and walk-in closet is much bigger than mine (I'm sure she can fit in addition to a desk a small couch in her room). When it comes to cost, they are very affordable for the location. I try to keep a hard cap on living expenses (no more than 1,500 a mo. including utilities). Lastly the staff from the maintenance team to the leasing office are customer-centric. I had initially told them that I would be moving after 3 months once I moved in but I fell in love with the place. They provided concessions to ensure that I was a happy a customer. Maintenance staff are very responsive and do a good job of following up after they fix items to ensure it works. I honestly wish that these were condos instead of apt because I would definitely look into buying here. If you're looking for an A1 experience I highly suggest Wellington Place :).

The gym can be a bit tight during peak times but that is infrequent. The rooftop deck is always in good order and was my favorite part of living at Chroma. The package concierge is also incredible! Location: Unlike the other reviews, I was reliant on my vehicle rather than the T. Being close to the pike was very helpful and the community was vibrant but also quiet (except the rooster nearby which we occasionally heard - still wondering how that pans out). I liked it overall. Overall, I moved out due to extenuating circumstances but once my current lease expires Chroma will be right at the top of my list. Everything went well from a warm welcome to a fond farewell and hopefully you'll find the same pleasure and comfort which I did.

Window cleaners were positioned directly outside my unit without any prior notice. I walked out of my bathroom in a towel to find individuals immediately outside my windows. This was an avoidable and uncomfortable invasion of privacy. When I raised this with the management office, I was told I may not have been included in the notification because I am vacating at the end of the month. I was then directed back to the leasing office without any meaningful acknowledgment of the issue or accountability for the communication failure. For a building at this price point, basic communication around vendor access and resident privacy should be non-negotiable and consistently applied to all residents, regardless of lease status. This experience fell well below expectations and is worth considering when evaluating management responsiveness.
