My fiancé purchased my beautiful engagement ring and wedding band back in January and I received it in February (I'm super late on this review, but better late than never). John was the sales person who helped my fiancé and from what I'm told, he had a lovely experience in buying my rings. However, when I tried the ring on it was still too big so we had to come in and get it resized. I was very skeptical of resizing my engagement ring because of the other reviews...BUT I'm so happy to say we had a fantastic experience. We came in to drop off the ring and were helped immediately. We brought the warranty paperwork in case, but they actually didn't need it and the process was very quick! We were told the ring would be ready in 5 days! I've had to resize rings at different jewelers and they've taken months so I was very happy to hear of the fast turn around. Upon pick up, the ladies at the counter were very friendly and sweet. My ring was given back to me in perfect condition and so shiny. I absolutely love my engagement ring and I'm glad the integrity of the piece wasn't faulted during resizing. One thing that stood out about this store is, during our first visit we were not pressured/hassled to immediately make a purchase. The resize was initially quoted for 7 days but ended up being finished in 4 which was nice. Very happy with my experience here. I got my fiancé's her engagement ring here and she absolutely loves it. The only issue I had was that stone was loose in the ring when I received it. But the fixed it and it was ready the next day! The whole staff there was really amazing. I went in here to have my ring resized for the first time. It was funny because the guy was trying to tell us that we had got it resized already and it was noticeable according to him. Me and my boyfriend thought like wow so they sold us a used ring or something since we had bought the ring here. My boyfriend picked up the ring when it was ready and when he came home he showed up with a different ring. I was so furious that I went back and they quickly fixed the problem. Turns out that there were two similar rings being resized when mine was taken in. I left being happy because I got my ring back. Brought a family heirloom here to be fixed. A diamond was loose and up to this point I had only had wonderful experiences with DeVons. The gentleman that helped me insured it would be no problem to secure the diamonds with prongs, it would be $150 & done in a week. perfect!........not perfect. The prongs are different sizes and in no way symmetrical, where the diamond came loose on the ring is now sharp and jagged and catches on everything (hair/clothing/skin/towels/blankets). I am so upset I didn't even want them to try to "fix" it seeing the job they already did. Also, The two times I went to this store (drop off/pick up) the counter glass was disgusting. There were literally 4 people behind the counter, all eating and it smelled like a restaurant. read more

Went to pick up, was givin approx. 75.00 est. Cost, No CHARGE whatsoever. They transposed my phone #. I wanted to love this store so bad because they had the cutest ring! But so many things went wrong! The sizing was not accurate, whoever resized my ring definitely needs to brush up on their skills! There were 4 very deep cuts into the ring after they were finished and to top it off, I wore the ring for 2 days and already had 7 loose stones! I tried to return for a full refund within my 7 day return for the manager to try and belittle me and tell me "your on the brink of your return policy" 7 days is 7 days! I came in on Day 7. Then he tried to charge me the restoration fee. Sorry! I wouldn't be returning the ring if your jeweler didn't demolish it. Finally after a phone call to someone higher up they agreed to return the ring for a full refund. I will NEVER return to this store again! I went in to get my engagement ring resized and my experience was awful. The salesman was busy with a couple, so the cashier girl was attempting to help me. I had a lot of questions that she couldn't answer, so she would interrupt the salesman to find the answers to my questions. The cashier girl interrupted the salesman about five or six times over a fifteen minute period. The salesman was clearly annoyed. The last time she interrupted him, the salesman leaned over the couple he's consulting with and yelled from across the store at me and said, "Umm, you're just going to have to wait!" When I went in to size the ring after getting it as a Christmas gift, it is a very beautiful opal ring with a little jazz of diamond sparkle to the side (0.01, very little but hey it is there). She was very polite added me to the ring account, and sized my hand. I am a size 4. The ring came back a little too big still maybe a 4.5 but it still works on one of my fingers. I understand I am very tiny and petite so sizing can be hard on me! They got the ring back on New Years Eve and I wear it everyday. Walked into DeVons while I was in my search for an engagement ring. I had a pretty good understanding of the 4 C's, but wasn't as aware of all of the rest of the intricacies behind selecting the right diamond, setting, etc. I went in knowing what I was looking for (solitaire, round shape, approximately 1 ct weight, and as good of a clarity and color that I could afford) and was open to suggestion. Shawn showed me quite a few, explained to me their jeweler specific diamond (the Legacy diamond), and other such things. He showed me quite a few diamonds that looked beautiful, however, nothing really struck me as it being, "The One." After all was said and done, Shawn taught me a little more about diamonds, spent time explaining some differences, and was very patient. I would've had no problems buying from him or their store if I was able to find the right stone. The customer service was good from my experience even though I did not purchase anything there. read more

I would give this place no stars if I could..not based on their jewelry, but on the professionalism and tackiness of my experience with them. A week ago I called to get a very ROUGH estimate on getting my engagement ring resized, the girl on the phone said pricing starts at $30. Great, sounds wonderful. I then drove to the jewelry store so they could give me a more accurate price, and see my ring in person, I was then quoted $35-$45. Still great, I'll do it. Fast forward a week, I get off work early and race to the mall to drop my ring off to get resized. The girl who has originally given me my quote was sitting in the back, and a new, very young girl starts to take my info down and prepares a receipt. At this point she has already written down $30 as the fee on my receipt, when a red head man sitting next to her says "how much did you charge her". Girl responds with $30. He says "oh no honey, you need to charge her for this and that and blah blah" bringing my final charge to $65. I told this obnoxious man that I not only called, but brought my ring in for an estimate, and was told $35-$45. He proceeded to tell me that the girls working there don't know anything, and that I should've talked to the jeweler. Ok..first of all, you're a D Bag for saying that in front of your sales people who obviously lack some serious training, and second, they should've gone and asked the jeweler to come out and give me an accurate estimate. He then had the nerve to tell me "I'm actually doing you a favor by even resizing your ring, we don't resize rings purchased from other stores". That was the final straw. I took my ring from them (after he inspected it for 5 minutes for the "integrity" of the diamonds) and told him I am not comfortable leaving my ring with them. This place needs staff training and communication ASAP. The girl I spoke to on the phone even asked if I purchased the ring with them and I said "no". The girl in the store asked if I purchased the ring with them and I said "no", yet they still told me they resize and that it'd be $35-$45. Now I have this man telling me he's doing me a favor because they don't resize outside rings. No thanks!!! Terrible experience from start to finish, and VERY uncomfortable with the two sales girls just sitting there. read more

I was so offended by the people working here. My fiance and I walked in looking to purchase his wedding band and my wedding band. We were definitely purchasing that day because we are getting married in 6 weeks and needed the full amount of time for resizing. We walked in in jeans and flip flops and the salesmen did not give us the time of day. We were addressed by the cashier who was friendly but was not trained to answer our questions. She let us know a salesman would be with us shortly. About 20 minutes into waiting and browsing a middle aged couple walked it, they were seen immediately, then 5 minutes after that another 40 something couple walked in and they were seen immediately. After about 40 minutes of being ignored we walked out and the next day went to the Stockton Devons and purchased our rings there. I was REALLY upset that they were ruining such a special moment for us by PRE JUDGING because we look so young. They missed out on a $$$$ digit sale the the Stockton people came up on.
