One time I had to come for eye drops and one staff member saved me the trouble of going through all 25 different products to inform me there was only one suitable for contact lenses wearers. They sell hosiery which came in handy twice for me when I had managed to destroy mine somehow. You never know when you're going to need the sorts of things a pharmacy offers, tweezers for example, antibacterial wash (uni keyboards) nail polish, they have it all. They also do passport photos. I had mine done here for a new student ID card only to discover after that I was entitled to a free card with photos from the clock tower. Don't forget it is here, tucked behind UBS, and yes if you need them, they can supply you with legal drugs.

I went here to get a prescription and the staff were friendly and helpful and I didn't have to wait long. Or rather, while I was waiting I just went and found other stuff I needed anyway. All your usual over the counter drugs of course, and then pretty much everything else that any pharmacy has (yeah! leg wax!) so you can run your errands in between classes. The other cool thing is there was a bunch of stuff that had campus specials so if you're sans prescription you can still find some non-full-price antihistamines or restock on contact lens solution. When you're a student you know you need every discount you can get.

The prices are generally not too outrageous for a pharmacy, and the service is quick, although the staff at the front till are really less than friendly, the ones down the back who deal with scripts are really nice. I've had some excellent bargains here too, including Dr Lewinn's products for absolutely dirt cheap, and the range of makeup is much better that at other Queen Street parmacies.

I can't be alone in this. Bearing that in mind, the service here is kind of disappointing. I mean not outright rude or anything, but definitely not friendly, and even to call it polite is being generous. I know it must be boring working as a cashier at a pharmacy, but suck it up. The people you're serving probably also work boring jobs (this pharmacy is in town, you know), and they've probably also got hayfever or bunions or something - that's why they're here. You don't have to sympathise with every single one of them, but yawning and rolling your eyes is not helping anyone. You're not too good for this job - you know how I know? Because it's your job.

They seem to have all of the essential lotions, potions and remedies for medical ailments, in addition to a great gift range in stock. They have loads of things to choose from if you are looking for a kid's present like themed bubble bath, soft cuddly toys and other funny cute items. My teenagers are more into the make up now and there is plenty of this on the shelves, nail polish and thankfully hair dyes since they want to be bottle blonds. Top brands are represented in the body lotions and soaps and other gift packs and there is a Natio mineral make up stand.

It's a bit on the old school side with its products and decor - it doesn't seem as up to date as the likes of Amcal and Life pharmacy. The woman who runs it is a bit like that too but is very friendly and helpful. There seemed to be a bit of disparity between the prices of the products there. Some items seemed a bit expensive while others were much cheaper - I was looking for a travel sized shampoo and the one I got only cost $1.50. It's like they hadn't changed the price since the 1990s or something. They do some good gift sets for women here but when I asked if they would be prepared to wrap one for me, they said they didn't do that. It's a friendly little shop but you can't help thinking that whole place could do with catching up with the 21st Century.
