One ongoing event that's definitely worth checking out is the Tuesday Dinner & Movie night. For $15, you get a candlelit dinner (catered by Scanoli's Cajun and BBQ Restaurant, across the street) and a classic movie. These days, the movie alone would cost you $10! And that means that the $5-dinner, already very good on the palate, was also quite gentle on the wallet. They also show Monday night football on the big screen. Moreover, for most of these events, the bar is open, which means you can enjoy a drink while you watch the movie. Tell me, where else in the US can you do that! I'm sure such places exist, but they're few and far between. For what it's worth, you can also rent out the space for events such as receptions and weddings. I haven't yet been there for something like that. But if it's handled anywhere near as well as the movie night, I'm already a fan.

If you're entering after 5 pm, you should use the south entrance to the museum, since the canal north entrance is locked. Tickets can either be bought at the ticketing counter or online, but online tickets are also scanned in here to check in. Then, the concessions counter is right by there. The prices for concessions are a little steep, but nothing outrageous. You can enter the theater from the first or second floor. The theater is pretty steep, so there's a bit of stairs depending on where you need to go. There is accessible seating at the very top row of the theater with companion seats. The seats are fairly comfortable but the rows are spaced kind of close, so you can feel people bumping your seat if they are moving about even pretty normally. The staff is super nice - down to earth. They offer a number of deals on popcorn and concessions. The theater was super clean. The chairs are comfortable, but not recliners. There are cup holders at each seat. Our view was unobstructed and noise level was low even though there were a lot of kids in the theater. There is a cute little birthday room set up with deals for the kids to get snacks and see a movie. The restrooms were clean (although a number of stalls were non operational. There was plenty of free parking close to the door. The lobby is filled with electronic games to keep the kids occupied before the show. I can't wait to go back without the kids and see an adult show.

The theaters feature stadium seating so recliners may not be feasible, although there is a flat floor section up front. The theaters have "rocker" chairs which allows the person in front of you to lean back right into your knees. The last time, my wife had a huge guy in front of her that due to his weight was leaning back and practically in her lap. His female companion sitting in front of me was very animated during parts of Lion King, bouncing in her seat (and this was an adult, not a child!) when certain scenes excited her. Luckily she didn't bang into my knees. This would be my second choice for a local theater, only if I can't get the times I want at Eastside.

Decided on a quick pizza slice... and this one was delicious (probably because it was drizzled with hot honey). The thin crust isn't always my favorite but this one was tasty and had a perfect amount of chewiness(not crunchy) . The movie theater we were in was relatively small and very comfy.
