The prices for this theater were quite affordable which is also great! Everything went so well though the biggest issue would be how comfortable the chairs are since they are quite uncomfortable, and it would be a nice addition to have more legroom and recliner chairs. Overall I had a great experience and enjoyed that it was affordable.

The Dolby theatre is really awesome. The Batman was the perfect movie to experience it. The seats actually feel like they are shaking. It's not loud. It's more surround sound and you feel like you are right there in the car chase. They have an elevator to take you to the top seats which was great for my aunt and her scooter. The only thing is you feel so far from the restrooms and the movie was 3 hours long. So It made me miss a bit more that I would have liked. But the movies are just soooo long now! The concessions stand was quick and organized. You fill your own drinks at the Coke freestyle machines. I would only see movies in Dolby here though. It was a few more dollars, but we have the A-List pass so we didn't mind since it is all included.

The surfaces look sticky, and there are trails of stepped-on popcorn ground into the carpet. The seats do not recline, so expect an old-fashioned movie-going experience. Although, I've read that if you see a movie in the Dolby theatre, the seats are better, so your mileage may vary. One of the good things about this movie theatre is that it serves beer and wine. I didn't get any during my visit, but maybe I should have. The soft drinks are dispensed at a machine off to the side, and you can pick your flavor of soda. Another neat thing that I noticed: You can order your concessions ahead of time, and they will be ready to be picked up at a little nook off to the side. This would come in handy if you want to skip waiting in line! I don't usually order food at a movie theatre, but I had some food credits burning a hole in my pocket, so I got chicken tenders, mini chocolate chip cookies and pretzel bites for my child. My child originally wanted the Bavarian pretzel, but we were informed that the pretzel is as big as a steering wheel, so we opted for the pretzel bites instead. Who is buying soft pretzels as big as steering wheels? That seems obscene to me. Just make them a normal size? The chicken tenders were actually really good. Maybe my expectations were low for these chicken tenders, but they were fresh and crispy, and you get six big tendies in an order, with your choice of sauce (I chose honey mustard). The mini cookies were served warm, but they tasted a little weird -- almost like they were baked on a pan that had something else on it previously, like chicken tenders. As far as the movie theatre itself: We must have been in one of the smaller theatres, because it felt a little tight in there. But the sound was great, and the temperature was decent, and we generally had a good time.

In other words, it will not be gobbled up by a national chain that requires you to purchase a specific seat (I hate that). The only changes I found this weekend seeing two movies in two days were the butter is now self serve and the refills were discontinued. Wonderful! I really did not want a bunch of drastic changes because I love this theater just the way it is. The old app doesn't work but a new one is coming. The new website is up and running. Plus current showtimes are posted on the windows. Matinee ticket prices are $8 plus our refreshments for two people was only $22.

A family of 4 can see a movie, get popcorn and pay less than $30! Almost unheard these days. Movie sound and audio seemed fine to me. My teenage sons thought so as well. The staff is super nice - down to earth. They offer a number of deals on popcorn and concessions. The theater was super clean. The chairs are comfortable, but not recliners. There are cup holders at each seat. Our view was unobstructed and noise level was low even though there were a lot of kids in the theater. There is a cute little birthday room set up with deals for the kids to get snacks and see a movie. The restrooms were clean (although a number of stalls were non operational. There was plenty of free parking close to the door. The lobby is filled with electronic games to keep the kids occupied before the show. I can't wait to go back without the kids and see an adult show.

One ongoing event that's definitely worth checking out is the Tuesday Dinner & Movie night. For $15, you get a candlelit dinner (catered by Scanoli's Cajun and BBQ Restaurant, across the street) and a classic movie. These days, the movie alone would cost you $10! And that means that the $5-dinner, already very good on the palate, was also quite gentle on the wallet. They also show Monday night football on the big screen. Moreover, for most of these events, the bar is open, which means you can enjoy a drink while you watch the movie. Tell me, where else in the US can you do that! I'm sure such places exist, but they're few and far between. For what it's worth, you can also rent out the space for events such as receptions and weddings. I haven't yet been there for something like that. But if it's handled anywhere near as well as the movie night, I'm already a fan.
