Since I have long hair and wanted spiral coily hair, this took five hours, BUT, Lynn cared for every individual strand! She genuinely took her time grabbing and perfecting every strand. It looked so natural and so bouncy! It felt like such a personal experience, I felt cared for and I do not believe I would've gotten the same treatment elsewhere given my long previously dyed hair. I did research for a few years before landing on Lynn, I'm so happy I did! She even let me go with fruit for the road. Shes so kind and accommodating. She's so precious!!!!

Sounds funny, but eh, at least I don't have the mushroom top head look. My thick hair and the cut I want is not an easy hair cut to do. The description sounds funny, but with gel it's a clean military look or akin to school kids going to grade school. Not my thing but, the maturity aura can be fixed with longer hair on top. Believe the best way to say is it that I have a heart shaped face. That means the top of my hair should look like an egg to my preference. The haircut I want isn't for the faint. Mess up and you cannot fix it. It's why most fades on my hair type sticks out and is not flat on the sides like a flat top. Once Mindy understood I was willing to take the risk, I was rewarded in something that many hairdressers cannot cut and or is willing to do. Which is to fade free hand, then rat tail comb fade the edges on top with a clipper and texture with scissors. Mind you I watched a long time before giving her the go ahead to take the risk. Sounds a lot of work right? Hair dressers will complain doing this type of cut. It's a lot of work, will take time. Mindy does this for me. And for that I tip well. To be fair, I get my hair cut once a month. But it's usually the best way to learn as the hair has grown out and everything needs to be redone again. Note. Tip what you can, I usually tip hourly wage max to half. Mindy gets more, that's how much I like the cut. 15 to 25 percent minimum wage is a good tip. That being said Mindy takes time, is patient, and remembers you. Everything you would want in a hairdresser. I really should come every two weeks but I got things to do. Mindy does textbook style hair cutting. Which doesn't work with my hair cause you don't really expect an Asian with an Afro like hair type, thick, and straight. Takes time to learn cultured hair types. My hair is a rarity. Mindy learned quickly how to cut and tame it. Qualities of a true hair dresser. Note. I got my hair cut by Lynn too. She's good, but she's busy and I believe she understands my haircut and hair is annoying to do. The guy and new girl are good too. Just a preference and patience to be had.

I called Friday for two Saturday haircut appointments and they scheduled me right away. I don't think they have a website or socials so just give them a call to schedule. I was seated with Angie, showed her an inspo picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted, a trim and quick style. After seeing the final results, due to my hair type she recommended trying a new style/cut and I was in the mood to try something new so she went out of her way to re-cut and style my hair. She showed me two styling options and was very patient even though she basically had to redo my hair. She said they also do pre-event styling so if you have an event where you want your hair to look a little nicer, you can schedule with them starting at $45+. I have been coming to Devon for almost two years now, and I am truly grateful to have found her. As a Muslim woman, it is not easy for me to go to regular salons because I wear a hijab and need a private, comfortable space where I can uncover my hair. Devon's private home studio has been such a blessing. It is safe, discreet, and perfectly suited for women who value privacy. For nearly two years, Devon has been doing my highlights and touch-ups every 2-3 months, and I have loved my hair every single time. She is incredibly skilled, attentive, and always takes the time to understand what I want while also caring deeply about the health of my hair. I completely trust her work and her judgment. Beyond her talent, Devon is a genuinely kind and warm person. She makes me feel comfortable, respected, and cared for--not just as a client, but as a friend. I truly see her as a sister, and every appointment feels like time spent with someone I trust. I am more than happy to give Devon a 5-star rating for her exceptional service, professionalism, private studio, and her beautiful heart. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled stylist who truly cares about her clients. read more

I had my hair done in a small town and it turned out horrible. I was unsatisfied. I had 3 l to 4 different colors in my hair after it was done. I couldn't put my hair up or down because there was so much spots and bands. I was in desperate needs to get my hair fixed and reach out to Devon in Elk Grove to see if she schedule me in to get it fix. She was very nice and message me back right away. She asked about my hair history and what was done to it. She told me she will call me after her customer and talk to me in more detail. She did just that! She contact me later that night and was very understanding. She had put me down on her schedule that was convenient for me. I didn't know if my hair could be fix but after she was done explaining everything in detail, I had trust. Every step of the way, she kindly explained what she was doing. I wasn't left to be surprise. When she was done with my hair, it was more than I can ever imagine! It turned out AMAZING! I love it soooo much. She was sooo kind and her work just left me in silent. I was beyond amazed! Thank you to Devon and her time. It was not easy but she didn't complain at all. read more

I am beyond happy with my Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening experience! I came in with very thick, very coarse hair and a LOT of hair, and I always struggled to manage it. I wanted something permanent that would make my hair easier to style and help me feel pretty and confident again. After about 3.5 hours, Devon completely transformed my hair. The result is beautifully straight, incredibly smooth, and so shiny. My hair feels light, healthy, and easy to manage -- something I've never had before. I honestly feel younger, more comfortable, and so confident with my new hair. The straightening looks natural and flawless, and I couldn't stop smiling when I saw the final result. It was my first time getting my hair full blonde back in the States, after a year of growing out my blonde hair from when I got it done in Asia. I would strongly caution anyone considering this stylist. My mother went in for a simple highlight refill and was given a clear price estimate of $86.00 beforehand. When it came time to pay, she was charged over $200--no warning, no discussion, and no approval. That kind of pricing is completely unacceptable and feels outright deceptive. Even worse, the results were terrible. She went in to maintain her highlights and left with hair that looked worse than before. This was not a complicated service, yet the outcome was sloppy and far below basic expectations. Between the inflated pricing and the poor quality of work, this experience showed a serious lack of professionalism and honesty. No client should be blindsided with higher charges or leave looking worse than when they walked in. I would not recommend this stylist to anyone. She lost 3 clients already read more

So it's been over 6 months now, and I am still happy with my Brazilian Blowout hair straightening…read moretreatment. Yes, my hair has accepted being straight quite well. It's wearing off a little, but now it has more volume at the roots and wavy underneath. But after faithfully using the Brazilian Blowout hair care products, it really seems to have extended my investment to it's present satisfaction. Now I can use a flat iron to smooth it out in about 5-10 minutes. We'll see how much longer I can keep going until it's time for my next straightening treatment. In addition to this update, my friend and coworker liked how my hair came out, so she too went to Kathy last week to have her hair done. She just loves how silky smooth her hair looks now and couldn't wait to stop by at work to show it off. She really looks cute! (Well, she is cute anyway). Now she can go on her vacation to Hawaii and not worry about dealing with the humidity. Plus other coworkers have expressed interest in getting their hair straightened too. Eventually we will rid the world of dry, frizzy hair one head at a time!
