Took my son to get a perm and he loved it. She is very knowledgeable regarding perms. It is very hard to find someone that has the expertise in that area nowadays. Again, he is very happy with the curl. We ended up doing a mixture of gray/white rods. He wanted the top permed only and then she cleaned up the back and sides. He went to his barber for the final touches. Sharon is straight-forward and will ask you a lot of questions to make sure you both are on the same page. read more

Can't believe how unprofessional this stylist is. She asked to move my appointment up a few days. I agree, she confirms the new appointment, all good. I arrived on time, waited over 40 minutes OUTSIDE because her salon is tiny, only to have her say she overscheduled herself & wants me to come back in 90 minutes. I got a perm with Sharon & I absolutely love it! The first time I had went to see Sharon she told me that my perm would not turn out how I want because I had previously bleached my hair. Sharon recommended I get a cut & wait on the perm. 1 year & 2 cuts later, I come back with healthier hair & we did the perm. The whole process took about 2-2.5 hrs. I love my perm/curls from Sharon (pictures below). I wanted soft big curls and she made it happen. Sharon really wants to understand what her clients want or what they are looking for. When I sat down, she asked me a series of questions to make sure the perm was going to work on my hair then she asked me if I had pictures of the perm/curls that I want. I showed her a few pictures, and she was honest on what pictures will work because they were perm, and which were used with a curling iron. To get a better picture of what I want, Sharon looked up more pictures to see what I wanted. Also, I appreciate how she asked me how I would style my hair and what I wanted to do in the future with my hair. With these questions, it helped guide her on how to perm and style my hair. Once she understood what I wanted, she quickly started working on my hair. She estimated that it will take two hours and it took exactly 2 hours. During the process, she was careful with washing my hair and putting solutions on it so it doesn't get on me. She also checked in on me a few times to make sure everything was ok. At the end, she told me how to take care of my perm. I really can't recommend Sharon enough. Her work and service is superb! She made the 2 hours go by quickly through our pleasant conversation as well. Btw, her address is no longer in Elk Grove so when you contact her, she'll provide you with the new address or ask her. 09/15/19 Just wanted to update my review. I've been going to Sharon for about a year and a half for my perms. And she still knocks my socks off. I decided to do something different this time and I went shorter and tighter in curls. I showed her a reference picture and she made it happen. It's been a few days and I'm loving it. I've gotten two perms from Sharon and I've loved them both! Earlier this year, about march, I decided I wanted to get a perm. I did a lot of research on perms: how they were done, how to manage them, people who did them, etc... I found Sharon through Yelp and I saw some of her pictures but she didn't have much posted then. I really wanted this perm so I trusted my gut and texted her. Sharon replies really fast each time I text her and is also super sweet. I sent her pics of my hair and she gave me a consultation and estimate over text. My first perm: When I came in, I knew some about perms but I had little knowledge on Olaplex perms, which is what I got. Sharon explained everything she was going to do before she did it. She answered all the questions I had and more. Sharon told me that since my hair was bleached that it might be a little harder to perm than the virgin part of my hair. (which is HUGE if you want to perm your hair!!! Works best on VIRGIN HAIR!!!) Knowing this, I understood why it took a long time for my hair to perm/develop. I was quoted a price of $140 and that included a haircut. The process of perming: wash hair (she washes your hair which is the best part of the whole process in my opinion), hair cut, hair in rollers, perm solution, wait, wash hair solution, unroll, wash again, done. Even though my hair took a little longer to perm the whole process was about an hour and a half. I loved the result!!! The only thing that sucked was that my head was super flakey afterwards for the next two weeks, but since I got another perm I believe it was just my scalp reacting to the perm solution. My second perm: I wanted to go curlier. My first session was nice, but it was more waves than curls. I scheduled another perm session at the end of July. Same price, $140 includes a haircut. Sharon originally told me that gravity would pull my hair down and I understood. So this time I went with smaller rollers to perm my hair. And I also chopped my hair to my shoulders. Knowing the process already, the second time was much quicker, probably about 45 minutes total. I believe chopping off 95% of the blonde gave my hair a wayyyyy better curl. In fact, it was way too curly at first. Yup, I really tried to like it but I confessed to Sharon and told her that the curls were too small. Sharon was a lifesaver and told me to come in and we chatted. She gave me something called Olaplex No. 2 and told me to apply it to my hair after wetting it and leaving it in, and rinse when dry until I liked my result. This worked WONDERS!!! First of all, my hair got like ten times softer. I googled what she gave me and this stuff is EXPENSIVE so it MUST be magical!! I offered to give it back after only using like 5 pumps to achieve my desired curl but she insisted that I kept it and just used it every now and then. I love my hair more than ever!!! Currently, my hair has grown out about 3-4 inches so I'm due for a touch up haha. See you next time Sharon!!!! read more

I brought my 15 year old nephew to see Sharon for a perm. It's hard to find people who do perms nowadays. I saw her great reviews on yelp and that's why I decided to bring him there. I learned she is also very experienced and has been doing hair for three decades! She's owned a couple of big salons here in the area as well! Her daughter is also in the business as well! Anyway, nephews hair was super short and extremely straight. To tell you the truth , I thought his hair wouldn't take in the perm because of that. His hair came out soooooo good ! This review is a bit overdue, as I visited Sharon about 2 months ago. If you are thinking about a perm, but are debating on where to go - Sharon is your girl! Prior to visiting Sharon, my hair was unprocessed/not colored, so I was a bit worried about how healthy my hair would be after. Sharon KNOWS her stuff. She is very educated on how hair reacts to chemicals and product. She asked what look I was going for and (with very little direction from me, as I was unsure) gave me her input. She knows what sizes work best for your hair to get the look you're trying to achieve. She is fast at rolling the curlers as well, so you're not there all day. In the end, she gave me exactly what I was looking for and maintained the integrity of my hair. It is not at all damaged/dry/dead and looks very natural. read more

Sharon saved me! I had been trying to get blue hair for months. My last attempt ended in a patchy green mess. I called her up and she took me in that day. I wanted a specific kind of dark blue so she went out of her way to pick up a new brand that had the exact color I wanted. It looked great when I left but a few days later it had all washed out. When I told what had happened she took me right back in and fixed it with a tried and true brand free of charge. The results are exactly what I wanted! Unfortunately since I began coming to Sharon I have to change my previous rating. If you are like me and you are a woman your hair means alot to you. In the beginning of our relationship Sharon did an awesome job at saving my hair from a horrible haircut I gave myself. I told her originally I wanted platinum blonde hair I have dyed my hair for many years using box products alternating between dying and bleaching. The color of my hair was very gorgeous but over a period of time I noticed that my hair started falling out I brought it to Sharon attention instead of addressing the problem she pulled her hair out and told me that it was normal that everybody lost hair. I have lost so much hair now that it caused me to feel less confident and my pride was definitely hurt even now I'm still trying to do damage control. Anyway I cancelled our last appointment and let her know that my hair was falling out and I felt like she paid more attention to the color of my hair rather than the health of my hair. She told me she was sorry but she didn't offer any remedy for my current situation. So that is why I am changing my rating. read more

I had done a review few years back when I first started going to Sharon for my hair at True Salon & Spa. I had given her a good review due to her customer satisfaction and professionalism; however, after my last visit with Sharon I am forced to update my review. I had made an appt with Sharon 3 days before our actual appt for 2 people to have our hair curled for an event; additionally, I called her to ask if she is able to accommodate 2 more people totaling 4 of us. She stated that she will be able to accommodate all 4 of us and will bring help to assist her. When she had said she would bring an assistant, I had figured that her assistant will help the 2 additional people fastening the appointment so my family can get to the wedding reception on time. However, that was not the case, in fact Sharon had provided the worst customer service to my family and I, as she was rude and had refused to fulfill her appointment with us. She had double booked herself that day resulting in her helping the other clients only, and when I had asked her to see if she will do at least my hair knowing that I had been her client for several years now, she bluntly stating that her assistant will help me, When I asked her why she double booked herself, she simply ignored me their entire 3 hours I was there. She had each of us wait till her assistant Jessica was able to get to us. The only positive aspect was Jessica herself as she did a great job on all of our hair and did as quick as she can. We were suppose to be there only 2 hrs max but due to Sharon's unprofessionalism and lack of care and concern, we ran late for our event. If I had known that Sharon would be providing the worst service along with being the rude to my family and I, I would have not taken them there to get insulted. Also, she had decided to tag my sister on her Facebook post by falsely stating that she was there getting here hair done when my sister had decided to go to a different hair dresser. After, the services we had received, I have decided to take my business to some who is professional, respectful, and appreciates their customers. My one advise is when making an appt with her confirm that she will be seeing you that day personally rather than getting a major surprise at the salon. read more
