Ivan and Kim are gifted in their craft. Believe it or not, I came in w/purple bangs, dark roots and blond ends. They have dyed my hair pastel pink, blond and now a copper hue, all within this past year. They also cut my kiddos' and husband's hair to perfection. read more

Amazing couple who are so genuine, hardworking, and talented. I did a walk in on a Saturday morning and was seated in 10 minutes as they were working with another client but was recommended by the wife to call for appointments as they get really busy! They are the only ones who work there and have 3 chairs but are really efficient with their time and clients. According to their menu, women's haircuts start at $25. I got a wash + cut for $45 before card fees and tip which is incredibly affordable and worth it compared to the majority of other salons. I definitely will be going back and I really recommend everyone to go to them! read more

You will not regret it! I will ALWAYS come back!!! This was my second time in their chair. The very first time was a quick trim to remove all the dead hair and weight off my shoulders. And they were so quick to accommodate me in as a walk in between their appointments. I had called before coming and then I was in. This was a year ago! Now I had called in before coming again and they fortunately weren't busy so they had me come in. Usually passing by on times I would think about going in, they always had people waiting for them. I hadn't gotten my hair cut since my first visit with them so I absolutely needed a refresher. Kim and her husband are AMAZING. They're sweet and knowledgeable and they make you very comfortable. And they definitely made me feel confident! They know exactly what they're doing and what works for you. I had told him a sort of idea, but no reference pictures for them and they still NAILED IT!! I requested a butterfly cut with curtain bangs that had face framing layers. That's it. Just know, I will be coming back for that Keratine treatment and highlights! They absolutely have me forever. I will be referring everyone I can!! I cannot say enough THANK YOUUSSSS!!!!! Btw I could not get a good picture, it doesn't do it justice! :( my husband loves the haircut! ~Also I saw the husband cut his own hair my first visit AND another guys, so this is the place for everyone! Need to get my husband in their chair too!! read more

I found this hair salon on Yelp in January 2025. Kim and Ivan welcomed me into their hair salon. Today, this is my 2nd time coming here. Ivan did an amazing job on my hair and trimming my beard. I love it! And I couldn't be more happier! Thank you! read more

I was introduced to this salon from my coworker who talked highly of them. This couple were amazing and were quick to response. I messaged on Wednesday and got an appointment that Friday. I was unsure what color I wanted to dye my hair but knew I didn't want bleach. He showed me what color would fit me and it turned out better than I expected. I usually cut my own hair but decided to cut my hair here and it did not disappoint. The haircut was just like the pictures I had on my phone. I found my new place to get my hair done read more

Found this place on yelp. Took the chance from the reviews and I have to say I love my cut. He took his time and you can tell he loves what he does and makes sure it's perfect! It's a small shop, but it has everything. I just needed a cut and call to see if they were open since it was memorial day weekend. I was able to make an appointment for the afternoon since they open later. Ivan cut my hair and I wasn't very iffy about it. When he started he did such an amazing job. I love my cut hair so much. He knows what he's doing. read more

Very hair cut that I've gotten by Kim at D&D Salon has been excellent. She asks me how I want my hair cut and then cuts it just like I requested. Kim and her husband really cleaned up the space and keep it clean. I'm a regular now and I highly recommend making an appointment with D&D. read more

This entire experience was a positive one. I wrote a request off Yelp for a last minute coloring and cut and the owner responded within minutes. They took me in an hour before closing and not only cut and colored my hair but wash and styled it. It is a mom and pop shop with an accessible parking lot. They are super friendly and want to make sure your hair is exactly what you asked. Very clean and nice interior. Highly recommended immediately to friends and family and would recommend coming here to any stranger that asks. This place is nice, clean, friendly and the service is affordable and nicer than anywhere that I have ever been. I'm definitely coming back here for anything regarding my hair! read more

Followed Ivin here from when he used to work at Studio 8 Salon in Elk Grove. It is easy to schedule an appointment with them via phone call or by text. My hair needed a major upgrade, so I visited around July; I had a lot of stuff done. The salon is small and the ambiance is nice, they played old love songs. The prices are so affordable!! It was $165 with tip for hair dye (root smudge, colored dye), hair trim (long layered cut), and hair styled (curled). I believe they still currently have a 20% off your total purchase promotion right now since they recently opened in June 2024. Please support this husband and wife duo! They are so sweet and welcoming and know their stuff (see the attached pictures). I have recommended this place to family and friends :) read more

Went in for a color correction, it was a 5 hour process which is normal for most. Going to a copper color from black. The stylist quoted me 400$, instead of the 300$ primarily. Which was fine to me because I wanted the results. But in between another client and myself had she had someone else do most of my hair. In the end, I was left with multi tone hair, nothing like the picture I had provided. There's spots of dark still in my hair that need to be corrected still which I'll have to pay again at another place. I reached out to the salon the same day with my concerns and got no response to fixing their work or a partial refund to get it fixed elsewhere. I'm expecting a baby soon so it's a horrible experience to go through, I wish I had done more research on the salon before coming to this apt. I wanted to have great results sadly I was disappointed. read more

I never leave reviews. After getting my haircut at D&D though I couldn't keep this locally owned and operated salon to myself. It's honestly the best haircut I've ever had. Amazing service! I found this little gem on yelp and while it had no recommendations something told me to reach out. Wow am I so glad that I did! First off they arranged to meet my on their scheduled day off. I asked for bayalage coloring and a cut for my severely damaged, neglected hair. I arrived and was greeted by a husband and wife duo who were so down to earth and polite. I instantly felt comfortable. I showed pics of what I wanted and they got to work. Turns out they are new to Elk Grove but have an extremely popular salon in the Bay Area. They are establishing new clientele here hence the lack of reviews. I am utterly amazed with their work. One may overlook this place because it's not all glitzy with smoke and mirrors but work is AMAZING. Do not underestimate them prices are beyond reasonable and it's way better than several of the popular salons in Elk Grove. I have found my new go to! Before and after below read more

I'm so grateful for Kim and Ivan for making my hair beautiful again! I was hesitant to try a different salon but I am so glad I did! They immediately accommodated me the next day after I called. My haircut was perfect! Kim is a total professional and did exactly what I needed! Courteous, friendly and very helpful.

This is a locally owned and operated small business. The owners are a couple with many years of experience in the business and it shows! Please check them out. I first came to Ivan and Kim because my stylist of decades, who I was reluctant to change, could no longer see me on weekends. I came in for a color touch up for gray hair and I left a very happy and returning client. I have since got a haircut and style with thinning of my thick hair. Ivan is a pro when it comes to women's and men's hair. He knew exactly what style and color would suit me- I was looking for a natural but healthy look. I have since returned for touch up and keratin treatment. The price is competitive for the quality and years of experience you will get. I noticed that the color is rich and holds longer than other places I have been. The salon itself is a clean and cozy space. So far my appointments have been kept but with many wall in clients, you can expect the couple to work on you while juggling other clients as well. I have not minded so far, although this is a different experience for me. So far I am pleased and will be returning. I highly recommend D&D salon. read more

I found this small and very clean hair salon through Yelp; Kim was very helpful in assisting me with info and prices before actually booking an appointment. Ivan, her husband, trimmed my hair and was very friendly and easy to talk to. He asked all the right questions before going in with the scissors which I really appreciated because I expressed how nervous I was to have a new person cut my long hair. He did exactly what I told him to do! Ivan is a very experienced hair dresser. Loved my experience here. Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend. read more

I recently had the best experience at D & D salon. I have been getting my hair done every 6 to 8 weeks in Bakersfield for the last 13 years.. Unfortunately I haven't been able to travel to Bakersfield from Bishop, Ca., where I currently live, in quite a while. I was in Sac town for a conference recently and booked an appt at D & D for a cut and color. They did a great job! I'll definitely be going back! Thank you D & D. read more

Very professional! This is a husband and wife team. I had cut and color and highlights and was very happy with it!

From Denise: I have been Phong's customer now for over 16+ years. Not only am I a satisfied customer but I am a very happy customer. He is truly very good at what he does. He takes his time & is very detailed when he cuts your hair. When we moved to the Central Valley I really thought I was going to find someone who can do the same thing. But no one came close hence I used to travel to Union City just to have him cut my hair, color etc. His new salon, D & D Salon is so nice, very clean, comfortable and nice decor. If you are looking to get your hair cut, colored or styled I would definitely recommend D & D Salon you will not regret it. Phong & Kim congrats on your beautiful new salon! read more

Loved it here! Got my hair cut by Ivan, much needed. He did exactly what I asked, checked with me to make sure the length was correct. He took his time cutting my hair and going through each section. I have natural curly hair and when I found out that I can get it permanently straightened I was ecstatic. It's a hassle to always straighten my hair after every shower and now I dont need to worry about a thing. I can go straight from the shower and not worry about my hair poofing up. Great price for the service! Your hair is permanently straighten and only when your natural hair grows out long enough is when you would need to get touch up for the root.
