Amazing couple who are so genuine, hardworking, and talented. I did a walk in on a Saturday morning and was seated in 10 minutes as they were working with another client but was recommended by the wife to call for appointments as they get really busy! They are the only ones who work there and have 3 chairs but are really efficient with their time and clients. According to their menu, women's haircuts start at $25. I got a wash + cut for $45 before card fees and tip which is incredibly affordable and worth it compared to the majority of other salons. You will not regret it! I will ALWAYS come back!!! This was my second time in their chair. The very first time was a quick trim to remove all the dead hair and weight off my shoulders. And they were so quick to accommodate me in as a walk in between their appointments. I had called before coming and then I was in. This was a year ago! Now I had called in before coming again and they fortunately weren't busy so they had me come in. Usually passing by on times I would think about going in, they always had people waiting for them. I hadn't gotten my hair cut since my first visit with them so I absolutely needed a refresher. Kim and her husband are AMAZING. They're sweet and knowledgeable and they make you very comfortable. And they definitely made me feel confident! They know exactly what they're doing and what works for you. I had told him a sort of idea, but no reference pictures for them and they still NAILED IT!! I requested a butterfly cut with curtain bangs that had face framing layers. That's it. Just know, I will be coming back for that Keratine treatment and highlights! They absolutely have me forever. This entire experience was a positive one. I wrote a request off Yelp for a last minute coloring and cut and the owner responded within minutes. They took me in an hour before closing and not only cut and colored my hair but wash and styled it. It is a mom and pop shop with an accessible parking lot. They are super friendly and want to make sure your hair is exactly what you asked. Very clean and nice interior. Highly recommended immediately to friends and family and would recommend coming here to any stranger that asks. Went in for a color correction, it was a 5 hour process which is normal for most. Going to a copper color from black. The stylist quoted me 400$, instead of the 300$ primarily. Which was fine to me because I wanted the results. But in between another client and myself had she had someone else do most of my hair. In the end, I was left with multi tone hair, nothing like the picture I had provided. There's spots of dark still in my hair that need to be corrected still which I'll have to pay again at another place. I reached out to the salon the same day with my concerns and got no response to fixing their work or a partial refund to get it fixed elsewhere. I'm expecting a baby soon so it's a horrible experience to go through, I wish I had done more research on the salon before coming to this apt. Followed Ivin here from when he used to work at Studio 8 Salon in Elk Grove. It is easy to schedule an appointment with them via phone call or by text. My hair needed a major upgrade, so I visited around July; I had a lot of stuff done. The salon is small and the ambiance is nice, they played old love songs. The prices are so affordable!! It was $165 with tip for hair dye (root smudge, colored dye), hair trim (long layered cut), and hair styled (curled). I believe they still currently have a 20% off your total purchase promotion right now since they recently opened in June 2024. Please support this husband and wife duo! Amazing service! I found this little gem on yelp and while it had no recommendations something told me to reach out. Wow am I so glad that I did! First off they arranged to meet my on their scheduled day off. I asked for bayalage coloring and a cut for my severely damaged, neglected hair. I arrived and was greeted by a husband and wife duo who were so down to earth and polite. I instantly felt comfortable. I showed pics of what I wanted and they got to work. Turns out they are new to Elk Grove but have an extremely popular salon in the Bay Area. They are establishing new clientele here hence the lack of reviews. I am utterly amazed with their work. I first came to Ivan and Kim because my stylist of decades, who I was reluctant to change, could no longer see me on weekends. I came in for a color touch up for gray hair and I left a very happy and returning client. I have since got a haircut and style with thinning of my thick hair. Ivan is a pro when it comes to women's and men's hair. He knew exactly what style and color would suit me- I was looking for a natural but healthy look. I have since returned for touch up and keratin treatment. The price is competitive for the quality and years of experience you will get. I noticed that the color is rich and holds longer than other places I have been. The salon itself is a clean and cozy space. So far my appointments have been kept but with many wall in clients, you can expect the couple to work on you while juggling other clients as well. I have natural curly hair and when I found out that I can get it permanently straightened I was ecstatic. It's a hassle to always straighten my hair after every shower and now I dont need to worry about a thing. I can go straight from the shower and not worry about my hair poofing up. I was really hesitant to go to a new salon just because i just moved here in sac and this experience is the reason why. Im gonna add that Kim is really nice and gentle when it comes to styling and washing hair. The guy that was doing my hair didn't listen to what i wanted at all and made my hair black when i wanted a brown with honey highlights. I told him if I should go darker bc I have damaged hair and he said no, i suit blonde and he doesn't want me to regret it. We start blow drying my hair and it's literally black with platinum highlights. I wanted to trust that he would tone correctly but unfortantely i was wrong. I'm completely devestated and put on a smile and walked out almost in tears before i head to my family's wedding with this hair. My hair will never be at the healthy condition it was before and will never be as light ever. He was not gentle whatsoever and kept on going on about buying expensive products but didn't use a single product (not even heat protectant) after washing in my hair until i asked him to use oil bc my hair felt like straw. I felt entitled to some products because i'm paying nearly 400$ for him to completely give me the opposite of what i asked for. He was super rough brushing my hair out and even when showing faces of pain he continued to brush so hard so much hair fell out. I've gotten my hair done plently of times with more difficult services and have never seen anyone disregard the integrity of the hair. If you're thinking about getting your hair colored here please reconsider and book with Kim Trang unless you want hair breakage. my hair used to be 3 times more thicker before I sat in his chair. read more
