Botanica la Luz is not only locally owned, but we had such an amazing experience not only with the owner, but with the selection of teas and product as well! We were in the area grabbing a coffee from a local coffee truck and this botanica shop was right next door! Of course the purple ambiance outside is what initially drew us in! And I am so glad we did! The shop has everything you would need for a spiritual cleanse, from herbs you burn, to herbs you drink! We initially went in with curiosity, but ended up leaving with some herbs for our nightly tea (6.99) and my now new favorite mug for my morning coffee! I will also note, if you get a chance to speak to the owner herself, she is truly a gem! She helped my partner pick out the perfect tea herb to go with our now nightly routine and she was very knowledgeable about the health benefits of each herb! Overall a 10/10 experience and I will definitely be returning!

They were informative whenever you asked questions and were very sweet. The altar cleansing room was delightful, ancestral & beautiful. The tea bar is also very beautiful and I'm sure once it's more finished we'll stop by to make our own. We felt like a kid in a candy store, so many goodies. This is more cultured rather white washed kind of spiritual shop. They are orisha friendly and that was my favorite part. We will absolutely come back because this was a 10/10 experience.

Another missing review!!!…read more Over 30 years ago I discovered Chango Botanica. Chances are if you aren't familiar with this type of shop and their offering then Santeria is not on your radar. An African diasporic religion that developed in Cuba in the 19th century. A mixture of West African Yoruba and the Catholic form of Christianity. This shop provides the necessities for followers or believers as they are called. In May of 2014, Roxanne K mentioned in her review, the patriarch had passed and the son intended to carry on. I talked to his son today and he continues his commitment to carry on his father's legacy for the family in supplying the needs of the Santeria community. This is a Santeria shop catering to the needs of this Afro-Cuban religion. These people are serious about their offering and surprisingly serve a large community. The upward pressure of real estate values in this area has forced a lot of businesses to cash out for huge sums. For now, this tradition continues, and its a good thing. Better than another CVS which bought one of my favorite old Mexican restaurants down the street that was 70 years old and tore it down. Whether you have Santeria needs or not, stop in and check it out(respectfully). I'm sure they will welcome you.

Absolutely obsessed with this crystal shop! 10/10 recommend visiting if you're in Bishop Arts!…read more My friend and I stopped by and were immediately greeted and walked through all their offerings. Everyone working there was super helpful and friendly! They had a tarot reader in-store doing readings which was so fun! Like the Bishop Arts store, this is easily one of the best smelling shops I've ever entered. The…read moreminute I opened the door the great scent just drew me into the shop. Upon entering there were candles, candles and more candles. I usually frequent the Bishop Arts location but getting there is challenge due to the construction in the area. Also, since I was in the area doing some other things I decided to stop into this location. While the layout of the two stores is similar, this location is more spacious which allows more for more comfortable shopping experience during the busy periods. Also, because of the larger space, they have more product in the store and ready for purchase. Something to note is that while both locations carry the same items; because of demographics availability of certain items may be more readily available at one location than the other. Thankfully, my two favorite candles were in stock making my trip a success. The staff as this location are very welcoming and friendly. The person I worked with was very helpful in pointing out the candles I went for. Of the my two, I was worried that they didn't have one of them and she pointed to where they were and explained the labeling has changed which is why I walked right past them. Having covered a few of the similarities between the two locations; one area where they differ is parking. This location has a huge parking lot (it is shared with other businesses in the area) has plenty of parking. While I don't mind street parking (and walking), there is something to be said for a parking lot as it adds a level of convenience to the shopping experience. Because this was my first visit (I was unsure of the exact location amongst all the other shops), I ended up parking a distance away from the shop and walking to it. I will probably continue to do that as it allows me to still get the walking experiencing. If you're not into walking there are plenty of spaces right in front of the shop. I have been a huge fan of Society and their awesome candles for a few years. While this was my first visit to this location it will not be the last; I foresee many more visits in the future. If you are wanting some nice smelling candles or looking for a unique gift for someone I highly recommend you 'check-in' to Society.

I wasn't sure if it was a home decor shop or just candles, as I found out they are also a design company. Turns out this is their second location, the first being in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. This is just a candle boutique, not a home decor or design store. But the owners are designers and have an office elsewhere, if I understood correctly. I loved the look of the store and the salesperson was friendly and helpful. Their candles are pricy but LOVE all the scents and they make a great gift. Oh and I had to buy one for me too! I asked the salesgirl what scent was the most popular and she said No. 2 so that is what I bought for both me and my sister. She wrapped my sister's in a separate bag with tissue so my gift was ready to go! She also gave us tips on how to burn our candles-first time let them burn for 2-3 hours so they burn evenly and don't "hollow" out. Also cut the wick next time I use. I love my candle, I am burning it now! And my sister loved hers too! Will be back, this store is unique!

I wish I had gotten a picture of the sage. I bought one for her dad and it is huge. It will last him quite a while. Hmm...should have gotten one for myself. Smh.

Checking out right now and my head is spinning - definitely need a grounding after being around all this energy. I came with a list and filled it plus some more that I couldn't leave here without. I'll definitely be back - not for the rock (pun intended) bottom prices but for the knowledge and variety. They offer classes and trainings and I'll be here for all of it when I can. Highly recommend!
