As someone without a great deal of artist talent Catherine's warm and encouraging style allowed me to feel comfortable exploring and creating. Some of the other students in the class were very talented artists. The supportive atmosphere she creates in her classes allowed me to benefit from the techniques she shared with them rather than feeling intimidated. I highly recommend trying one of her classes no matter what your level of experience or talent.

While this artist's studio…read moremight have once enjoyed some prominence, it struck us as little more than glorified after-school care...under the eye of a slightly crabby individual who, evidence suggests, has probably been doing this a decade too long. What can we say: at close to $200 for 8 classes, we expected more, especially when said classes are offered for young kids of 6 and 7. When money changes hands, one comes to expect a certain amount of flexibility from the staff and, above all, patience with young, energetic minds that may not immediately fit into rigid routines and methods. We wanted our child exposed to more art, not more rules. Budding artists need to get their hands dirty, to experiment, to try, and to fail. Sorry, but this isn't that place. Onward.

The class itself was structured, there were clear expectations and the teacher gave each child individual attention throughout. Even so, she auditioned and got accepted to advanced ensembles (with two local youth orchestras), playing with full symphony orchestras ever since she was at age eight. When she started WHS, she was a very good player, but no way exceptional like kids from musical families and she noticed the differences herself. However, three years later, our daughter is assessed to be on a soloist and chamber musician track with composition to boot. During the time she has been at WHS, she was given so many opportunities to the music world outside school, such as NEC Prep YPO, Honors Chamber, CHIPS, and collaboration to lead orchestra part in professionally produced operas live with music establishments like Boston Lyric Opera and also has her composition works performed not only at school, summer camp (senior division), but also aired on NYC Public Radio, WQXR, showcased as a young artist. For a high school student, that certainly is unbelievable! Seeing our daughter flourishing into a confident, accomplished young lady, we know without the care and dedication from WHS's beloved faculty members, it probably would have happened at all! With an artshow each Friday, we enjoyed the opportunity to see the the kids amazing artwork on display. We ended up with multiple frame-worthy pieces, one of which the clerk at the frame shop said she'd never have guessed was created by a 6 year old, it was that good. My daughter had a great time, the staff was fantastic, they offered before and after care which was critical for us working full time and we were incredibly pleased by the overall experience. We re-enrolled for February vacation, are planning for summer camp, and see ourselves as lasting patrons for the years to come.

This cute art center has different exhibits but the one I went to was all about the Boston Marathon. I had signed up to do the special package which included a 13 min slide show about the history of some of the statues that are on the Boston marathon course and just some history about the course/ race itself. And then there was a self guided tour to see the winged foot statues and some others as well. And there was a coupon for food at the start line brewery included too. The person who helped me get my tour started was very nice and helpful. This space is on the small side but it is very nice and clean. Feels a bit on the homey side. I would come back here for sure to check out other art exhibits they put on when it's not marathon season.

Went there this past weekend to see a blues concert in which 3 bands performed. The show was…read morewonderful and it took very little time to transition from one band to the next. Seating was on a first come first serve basis, but everything was well organized. There was a dance floor in front which was an added bonus. I will definitely go back to check out other performances. For $25, it was well worth it!
