It is an honor to be squeezed out once spring rolls around so the high school can practice from 4 to 6 PM but otherwise the courts are generally available and well visited. One of the great local pros Amanda runs tenacious groups from 12 to 2 and you can easily learn something by playing in an adjacent court. The rates seem reasonable, and the people all seem to know each other well and enjoy their time together as well as improving, smash his doubles strategy and coming to the net. It's not uncommon to find someone claiming to be the local marshal of the place cleaning up debris and letting the participants know of upcoming schedule changes. I find the nets somehow are always the right height. The active bocce ball and wall climbing chords immediately north of the tennis courts, as well as the birding new swimming complex that has been under construction for at least the last three years make one feel that this is the center of physical activity in North Albuquerque. The people are all very friendly and somewhat competitive. There isn't a lot of dispersion in talent among all the people who play there, but there seems to be a fair amount of good Nature competitiveness and play and I think that is one of the hallmarks of Albuquerque outdoor it seems to me that no matter how much the city has invested its citizens have reaped and 10 times that amount in their enjoyment, their longevity and their cardio

He's been skateboarding for 50+ years and can teach and coach anyone from international competitors to my (at the time of her first lesson) 3 year old daughter. He's patient, highly skilled, and gives simple targeted cues that are progressive in nature and help skaters improve their technique quickly. This park is lovely! It has a three different playground areas. One is specifically for kids 2-5…read moreyears old and the other two are for kids 5-12 years old. There's also a skate park, a couple volleyball courts and a baseball field. You have to bring your own net for the volleyball court. The baseball field has real bathrooms, but looks like they're locked when there isn't a baseball game happening. There was also a fence around most of the park. There's lots of covered picnic tables, shaded benches, and trees that create lots of shade. There's are shade structures on the playgrounds, but they don't really cover any of the equipment sadly. There's also a working water fountain. Some of the covered picnic tables also had some charcoal grills available to use. When we visited, there were also two porter potties, but I didn't go in them so I can't tell you how clean they were ... but they're porter potties, so ya know. lol. Also worth mentioning that I only saw two homeless people at this park. They kept to themselves and it didn't seem like they were doing drugs.

I really don't know why this place wasn't packed. Really. This place has a ton to offer to the community. We were there for the pool, and it cost $2 per person to swim and use the water slides. The snack bar was closed in the middle of the day for some reason, and they seemed under staffed, but maybe with so few people using the center it was enough people. There is a very impressive skate/bike park out back that three teens were using. Apparently the ice rink is a big draw, but it was under repair while we were there.
