No signs of wear and tear here!

I am finally picking up the pieces of my TERRIBLE experience with this "stealership". This review is lengthy, as was my terrible day yesterday with this corrupt business. After searching for a pickup truck online for months, I came across a Ford Ranger listed at Devaney. After 3 calls to them, I finally spoke with John when I requested some additional photos. I told John that I'm from Buffalo, NY (a 7 hour drive) and to please send detailed pictures of the truck along with ANY scratches, rust or dents so I can be well aware of what I'm buying before making the hike to Rhode Island. He sent me a total of 5 photos, begrudgingly, and aside from some small cosmetic flaws he said (and the photos showed) a really solid truck. He said there wasn't any rust and it was "the best Ford pickup truck we've gotten in a long time". We agree on a price, I let John charge a $400 deposit to my Visa. I book a one-way ticket to Boston and then schedule a one-hour ($96) Uber ride to the dealership. After all, John abruptly told me they "don't have time and staff to pick people up from the airport". Hmm, ok, Mom and Pop business... no problem. This is where it ALL went south; after a long morning traveling, I arrive at the dealership (read: a glorified mechanic shop with 5-6 cars for sale on a busy road) and see the truck. I immediately knew I was the brunt of a bad joke; I saw rust spots all over, overspray where many body parts were obviously just painted (directly over rust, mind you) and an interior that was so dirty I didn't even want to step foot inside. John makes an ironic comment that "I'm ballsy for coming 400 miles to buy a car" while I tell myself that I'm overthinking things, get the keys, and take a 10 mile drive up the road to talk myself out of RUNNING to the airport and flying home. The truck squeaked, smelled like burning oil, the entire roof of the truck was littered with deep, pitting holes of rust. The windows rattled, the gears slammed. He told me he replaced all of the brakes, meanwhile they were so rusted that I couldn't even make out the age of them. He said he flushed the fluids, which I could see were blown all over the inside hoods cloth cover, probably by the serpentine belt. I pulled over into a parking lot to book my flight home before I even got back to the stealership. Then, in that lot, John calls me to say that his receptionist was hungry and asked me to hurry back to the lot so she could process my payment. Ha... I felt like I was going to lose my lunch, glad she was ready for hers! I get back, politely explain to John that A) I'm not going to buy the truck for any amount of money, B) would like an immediate refund of my deposit and C) feel that they should at LEAST provide me with $100 towards the $196 in Uber fares I was to incur. After fumbling a few sentences, John tells me that the car does have normal rust as a "New England truck", that he sent me pictures of the truck (yeah, just not the shitty ones showing the 50+ rust pits) and that the owner (who he said was golfing, away from his phone) would "never ever allow me to pay for your Uber". Okay, Mr. John from Providence, I've taken an entire day off to buy this truck, traveled across the Northeast US, and spent $650 to be here, buying this. I told him to call the owner, of which he didn't, and instead made me sit there for 15 minutes like an idiot while he "texted" him with no response. I ordered my Uber to Boston airport, walked outside & realized I had the key to the truck in my pocket. As much as I wanted to throw it out the window on the highway and make him play Frogger, I decided to be a decent human being and walk back inside. I again asked John to please help me pay for my Uber to the airport, of which he said no again. I hand him the key and told him that in exchange I'd be sure to share my experience online in hopes that someone else won't make the same mistake I did. John - You SUCK. Your family business sucks, and you are the epitome of a "used car salesman". I hope none of your customers ever go through what I just did. Go to hell! Update: After about 5 seconds on Google, I realized that John IS the owner of the business and was full of crap when he said otherwise. Ah, how naive I was. My sentiments stand... steer clear of this crook!

I went to school for mechanics and when the job is too big or I don't have the time I 100% trust these guys and their prices.

There was even a Groupon for One Deluxe Exterior Hand Wash for SUV for $19.99. We snagged the Groupon deal. The following was included: Soft lamb's wool mitt hand wash, Complete chamois hand dry, Deluxe wheel wash, and Ultimate glossy tire shine. When we arrived, we showed our Groupon and were told to wait. Another man came and I showed him the Groupon on my phone and was redeemed. Service was quick and they mostly did a good job, but there were some streaks that were not fully cleaned. It seems to be a popular spot since there was a car ahead of us and a car came after us.

He quoted me $530, when I showed up for the appointment it went up to $2400. He said he didn't realize I wanted it waxed. He came down to $1200 when I said I wasn't going to pay that and said some special wax he was going to use on the front to help with the bugs costs him $550 (bs). When I went to pick it up they didn't use the 303 cleaner/wax which I provided on the fiberglass roof. Then I see they broke the windshield. The boss isn't around. I went back the next day wondering what did they hit it with, it would take quite a force to break this. The boss acted like he had no clue and said let's look at the video surveillance. He all of a sudden left to look at a picture one of the employees had on his phone. It showed the worker standing on a pallet on a fork lift truck pointing to the crack. My thought was there is what hit the windshield and why is he on this next to the RV when there is a 10 foot ladder on the ground 5 feet away. The boss then says there, it was broken before and you couldn't see it because of the bugs. The crack is right in front of the drivers seat, you couldn't miss it. Three days later it rains and the white milky oxidation from the roof comes over the sides, this is why I requested them using my 303 cleaner/wax for fiberglass. Now we got the windshield replaced and see the lettering on the front is messed up. One letter is missing and another one is right next to another one, it is suppose to read ALLEGRO. You can see the picture was taken at their business. I can understand accidents happen but when they are not accountable for their mistakes, you don't want anything to do with this business.

My top concern were…read morethe tints passing inspections but more so the back window, which you could hardly see out of. They stated they couldn't do much to the rear without ruining the defroster; the whole point of going to a professional is that they could do this. So, seeing out the rear is still difficult. Also, the windows now have a fog. My other main concern was a weird scent in the carpets. I waited a few weeks to post this so the invasive spray they use could dissipate, to tell how good of a job they actually did. The weird smell is still there as if they didn't wash anything at all. If anyone cleans something well a perfume should never be needed. The truck wasn't dirty otherwise but they didn't clean the cup holder that I had spilled something in the day before. Lastly, it was never conveyed to me that they didn't have a waiting room or that it's drop off only; I had the displeasure of sitting in a Dunkin' Donuts for over 4 hours.

The different types of coatings can be overwhelming to understand but Ray took the time to explain the process to me and what my options were. We set an appointment several weeks out and I set about waiting. Naturally a few swirls and even a scratch appeared while waiting but when the day finally came, Ray assured me he would be able to take care of everything. I expected to be without my car for a week but to my surprise, he said it would be done in just two days. As promised, the car was done in two days and of course, it looked amazing. To the untrained eye it probably wouldn't have looked much different if he'd just washed and waxed it though since it's a brand new car. To me, it looked so much better! The paint was deeper and reflected clearer. The finish looked flawless from every angle: not a swirl in sight. He had also cleaned the interior, coated the glass, and the wheels (including barrels). If that was all he did I would have been thrilled but.... I then received an in-depth explanation of the steps that were taken, the products used, how to care for it, the additional services (both complimentary and paid) that would be done to maintain the coating, and was given additional product for wash and finish. In addition to quality work I received high quality service! Price was exactly as we agreed and was more than fair for the work performed. Final note about ceramic coating - this is not your father's carnauba wax. Water seems to be completely afraid of the paint and it runs off in sheets. Picture below tries to capture it but it has to be seen to be believed!I
