One can only have so many tacos after visiting Mexico for a week. So from the recommendations of my sister-in-laws, decided to try this authentic German restaurant, in the middle of Zacapu of all places!
The decor of the restaurant is pretty neat and looks like a good place for parties. I decided to order the housemade sausage sandwich (duh), and my wife ordered the wiener schnitzel (aka milanesa).
I was a little disappointed with the sausage sandwich at first. I was expecting a fat, juicy, bratwurst. But after realizing that I am in Mexico after all, I understood that it was made to cater to the local palate. The baguette bread was wonderful and the sausage was small but tasty. It was also dry because they cut it in half (looked like it was cooked this way). It was served with catchup and mayo spread in the sandwich, which is no surprise (remember in Mexico). It was overall pretty tasty, but just not what I was expecting.
The milanesa was actually very good. Perfectly crispy batter and juicy, fatty, steak. Delicious. And the French fries were also very tasty. In-N-Out needs to learn how to make fries like these made from fresh potatoes.
Overall pretty good experience. Would definitely go back. read more
