If they are not, I keep looking. There is almost always room to be seen on the same day for a true medical emergency. Dr. Kleiner's emergency medicine training along with his Internal Medicine knowledge gives him in my opinion a cut above your average primary care MD. They have the ability to treat many patient basic needs in the office that other doctors cannot and send to an emergency medical facility. After I had my daughter 8 years ago, the doctor at Mercy Hospital that made the rounds making sure that all recently born babies are health approved for being released, Dr. Watman, examined my daughter and asked who her pediatrician will be. I said uh, I guess you! Luckily her office is located in Long Beach where I lived at the time so it was convenient for appointments. But.... the absolute greatest thing about Dr. Watman was that I could call any hour of the day or night and she herself would personally answer the phone so I could ask about how dangerous it is for my baby to have ingested laxatives or whatever the emergency was. I think they use an answering service now but for when we were patients there, up to when my daughter was 5 and my son was 16 and we moved to Nesconset, we got such attentive caring personable service from Dr. Watman and her staff.

That does not reflect on the doctor or her staff though. Very polite staff, when my daughter is sick and I call they tell me to bring her in immediately. Only one time did I have to take my daughter to urgent care. She is always available. She eases your worries and is very helpful and informative I don't know what else I can say.
