My hair needed serious therapy, and so I turned to Monica my trusted source and made a full, healthy hair recovery. The new Detox Salon location is open, and brings in natural light sources to welcome your senses. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. All products here are non-toxic for skin, nails and hair services. Highly recommend treating yourrse to come here!

I love this salon! My cut and color from Christopher Armeno were both 5 star experiences. I love how eco friendly the salon is and the relaxed atmosphere. I will absolutely be back!

Best salon I've ever been to! The salon itself is modern and chic and never smells like chemicals! The staff is extremely friendly and professional and always greet you with a smile and offer refreshments at the door. MOST IMPORTANTLY, my hair always looks great when I leave!!! Stacey always gives me the look I'm asking for whether it's long hair, short, brunette, blonde, red, pink, whatever!! Thank you Stacey and the rest of the Detox crew. You da best!!

Wedding Hair by Monica!

I was in search of a non-toxic salon for my wedding hair and make-up and found Detox through the many wonderful reviews on Yelp. I initially sent out an information request email, and Stacey immediately got back to me. From the beginning, Stacey was very friendly and thorough with her response. I initially met with Monica for a pre-wedding haircut. She did an amazing job with my layers and my hair grew out nicely for my wedding. On the day of my wedding, Monica did my hair and Stacey did my make-up. Monica was very patient with me in placing my hairpiece and when it got to my make-up, this is when my wedding jitters hit me. Stacey was so sweet and offered me some snacks and juice to help my nerves. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Detox salon. The ease of making appointments, the friendliness of all the staff and the experience I have received will have me coming back for services in the future. My wedding hair and make-up came out amazing. Thank you both for the fantastic job you did!

Came in wanting grey silver, left with blue green-ish color. Big mistake!!!

I was once a huge fan of this place. They completely messed up my hair on my last visit. I came in with virgin roots and grey ends. It had been at least two years since my hair was touched with chemicals. I came in requesting grey hair. I told her that if my hair wasn't blonde enough for the grey hair color I would be more than happy to just leave there as a blonde and come back in some months time to get my hair to the appropriate level of blonde before applying the grey dye. They insisted I was ready for the grey dye. Since my hair dresser had other clients come in, they had their receptionist, who is certified to do hair, finish my appointment. After being there a grand total of 6 hours, I left there with green blue hair, no hair cut and severe depression from the drastic change. I came in the next day and had expressed my concerns. The owner was too busy to see me in person so she had to call me back later that day. She did get back to me in an hour but as I tried to explain my concerns I felt as if she became defensive and continued to argue with me that I had already came in with "compromised hair" and that they did the best they could. She wouldn't let me speak and assumed that I wanted to come in for another chemical process when really all I wanted her to do was wash out the blue. They are nice overall and have good products but this was an awful experience. Turning my hair this unwanted color was traumatizing and the owner lacked any empathy for my experience. I spent $300 on green blue hair.

Chris was wonderful!!!! It's been a year and a half since I've had a professional hair cut because I was growing out a pixie. From walking in the door to leaving everyone there was friendly and a joy to work with. I put my hair and style in Chris's hands, he exceeded my expectations. My hair feels and looks amazing!!! The products they use are fantastic, my hair is super soft and smooth. I'll definitely be back!!!!

You will never find someone better at blondes than JAMIE! #princesslife

Ask the Community - Detox Salon

Do you offer Olaplex?

Hi Lee! We do not offer the brand Olaplex, but we do offer a natural alternative that has the same bond building properties.

Can you tell me what hair products you carry and if they are PPD free? I am looking for permanent dark brown hair color to cover grays. Thx

Hi Alexis! We use numerous color lines that are free of PPD. Please give us a call to set-up a complimentary consultation to determine which lines suits your needs best :-)

Do the prices for cuts include blow dry/styling, or are they separate, like $60 for the cut plus $55 for the blow dry/styling?

Hi Mary! Our haircuts include a blow dry and any iron styling that you would like :-)

This was our third visit, and once again, both my husband and I were really happy with our…read morehaircuts. I tend to write more detailed reviews about hair salons because my hair has always been a big deal for me. I have very curly, frizzy, coarse hair that tends to puff up and look much fuller than it actually is. It is definitely not the kind of curly hair that naturally falls into pretty, defined curls. Without blow-drying or straightening, it can get very unruly and hard to manage. I have been dealing with this hair for decades, so I have had more haircuts, blowouts, straightening treatments, and salon visits than I can count. Because of that, I can usually tell when someone really understands how to work with difficult curly hair. I wore short hair when I was younger, but after a bad experience, I avoided it for decades. About six months to a year ago, I decided to try a bob again. At first, I felt like the only way I could really manage it was by getting a straightening treatment about every six months. Since I also color my hair, I did not want to keep combining coloring and chemical straightening because of the damage it can cause over time. I decided to keep coloring my hair and stop the straightening treatments. Once more of my natural curl started growing back, though, the bob became harder and harder for me to manage. I was honestly starting to think I might have to give up on short hair and grow it out again. That was around the time I found this salon. What has impressed me most is how much easier my bob has been to manage since coming here, even without going back to regular straightening treatments. I am not especially skilled at styling my own hair, but after shampooing, I can now blow-dry and straighten it at home much more easily. The cut itself makes a huge difference. It also grows out really well, which is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. -- What really stands out to me is how well Risa listens. -- At every visit, she takes the time to ask how my previous haircut worked for me, what I liked, and whether there is anything I would like to change. I really appreciate that she listens to my feedback instead of simply repeating the same cut. I loved the shape of my last bob, but the back had been cut very short with clippers. Because my hair is coarse and pretty stiff, those very short hairs felt uncomfortable against the back of my neck as they grew out. Since I had not worn my hair this short in decades, I simply did not know my hair would react that way. I mentioned it to Risa, and this time she adjusted the cut and used mainly scissors and thinning shears instead of cutting the back so closely with clippers. I really appreciated that she listened to both what I liked about the previous cut and what I wanted changed. Most importantly, I love my bob again. The shape is clean, balanced, flattering, and very easy for me to manage. I also enjoyed the shampoo service. The brief scalp massage felt really relaxing and refreshing, and the salon itself always has a calm, comfortable atmosphere. My husband had his haircut again too, and his cut came out clean and polished, just like the previous visits. After three visits, it definitely does not feel like we simply got lucky once. The results have been consistently good for both of us. For me, a haircut that grows out well and stays manageable for two or three months, sometimes close to four, is absolutely worth the investment. Being able to maintain my bob this easily without relying on regular straightening treatments makes it even more valuable. That is why I keep coming back, and why I take the time to leave reviews. After our third visit, I feel even more confident recommending Risa.

She checked in with me regarding pressure and comfort levels. I had Risa for my haircut and she delivered, She did a quick consult with me and I let her know I wanted lots of layers. I have fine, wavy hair & I wanted a style that would suit my Asian features. I highly recommend yuji!

Stopped by on a whim since I was in the area and needed a scalp refresh…read more They luckily had openings and I opted for the hair wash + scalp massage for $45 + $10 since I have long hair. Jean helped me brush my hair, put all my items in a basket and headed to the hair wash station in a separate room. They had relaxing music playing in a dark but "galaxy" light-lit room with hanging dividers. There were about 4 stations total in that room. The seats were comfortable, and they gave me a blanket to keep warm while they washed my hair. I ended up falling asleep during the scalp massage :) It was very relaxing. After the wash, she took me back to the front to brush out my hair and there is a blower stand that dried my hair with cool air. I finished off myself with a brush & left when I was done. They also gave me some hot tea and rice crackers while I waited for my hair to dry. I left with a very clean, refreshed and soft scalp and hair!

Both were really nice and attentive to our needs (asking if we're comfortable with water temp, pressure of the massage, etc.) The vibe of the entire place was relaxing and cozy, the area where you get your hair washed is dark with faint water ripple-like lights and relaxing music (binaural?). It was overall a nice experience and I'd love to come back. ALSO I've seen reviews where people say they were required to pay 20% tip, I did custom tip that was less than 20% and the staff still thanked me. None of the staff were rude to any of us either. And nope, I'm not a paid influencer.
