This was my first visit to Destination Daytona during a major event ....and wow! Traffic was backed up for at least a half a mile; but so much to do & see once you get in and park; you could easily spend a whole day here! There is a HUGE Harley Davidson store on site, and for shoppers like me a Harley Davidson Outlet too. (This way I could shop for clothes, boots, and gifts while my husband looked at bikes and the dozens of motorcycle related vendors. ). There were beer tents all around, (but I wouldn't suggest bringing kids or going if you are offended easily, because there were some bar girls that weren't wearing much more than glitter & bikini bottoms!). There is at least one really good sit down restaurant/sports bar on the premises & there is a Clarion Hotel on site too. (I prefer to stay near the beach, so I assume this is primarily for vendors or folks who don't want to experience any other parts of Daytona/Ormond Beach.)
The best part, and the reason we came out, was because they have a huge pavilion & they feature some pretty awesome musical acts there. It's covered but open-air with 2 bars with bar stools & several high top tables with bar stools. (Although I don't think they had table service; we had to walk to the bar to get drinks.). We saw 2 amazing cover bands: Great Scott, (A tribute to Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver,) and Nirvanna, (the headliner and a tribute to Nirvana). We go to a lot of concerts & both bands were amazing! (And the best part...FREE!). This is truly a great place to see a show and have reasonably priced drinks. Next time we head to The Daytona area we will definitely check the event schedule and make a day of it! read more
