The gelato was excellent and handmade (when in Italy, make sure you look for the word "artigianale" which means it is homemade on the premises) and reasonably priced. I think we paid less than 3 euros for two large scoops of gelato. There aren't any seats, this is just a walk-up stand. There were all sorts of flavors available and the employee behind the counter was kind, even with us communicating in broken Italian. This shop is located near the Grand Canal and in a major shopping district yet it didn't feel too touristy (no "tourist cone" rip-off scams here). A great place to stop for a quick bite of gelato.

When we found the source, we dropped in and got some for ourselves. I had cioccolato al latte and cremino (hazelnut with nuts, fudge and candy crunch). It was fantastic and the scoops were a little larger than at other places. My husband had strawberry and banana Nutella- he said both were delicious. Our adult kids both had cremino and one had pistachio (light green color- not fake green you often get). Our son hand mint chocolate which he really enjoyed! Hope to come here again!

I asked for recommendations and his were all on point, including the changing daily special flavor. Today's was dark chocolate and it was the best gelato we have had on this multi city Italian tour, and Venice is city #10 on this tour for us! In fact it was so good my family of four went back after dinner for a second helping and to try other flavors. We experienced the same fast and friendly service from Dennis, and the same outstanding quality and deliciousness from the gelato. Highly recommend grabbing gelato here for anybody visiting.
