Drink selection could have been better (what is it with Budweiser being the preferred tap beer of Paris?) At least they had Jack Daniels. But a real No BS, very welcoming vibe, all about the music after dealing with utter douchebaggery at another venue around the corner. There is a reason this place is an institution for electronic dance music in Paris. Not the 'new' place, not the 'hot' place, just THE place to party if you don't have the time to venture out to some of the far industrial areas of Paris I love Le Rex.

Well, given that those with a membership can enter from 6p-11p and enjoy it privately and the public can enter after 11p and the public that lines up beginning at 11p kinda ruins the whole vibe, the answer would be a hard no. We arrived and on one side was a line for the dreaded "bottle service" - those willing to pay hundreds and thousands of €, to sit inside a velvet roped area inside the club, Gross. Strike one. We got into the line on the other side, where the bouncers were acting like it was a cross between Studio 54 and an exclusive rap club. They were hassling locals, making them sweat to get in. Then, when it's our turn, they immediately recognize that we're non-locals and speak English to us. They were actually cordial, but said "Good evening sir - - €25 each!" Ugh, strike two. After descending into the cavernous space, which is actually pretty cool, you quickly realize it very small and the seating is all bottle service/"VIP". Then you also realize the crowd is not the hip, creative cognoscenti of Paris, but rather the Parisian version of frat boys and sorority girls, that have zero interest in art, culture and likely have zero idea who David Lynch is. Strike three. Am I glad I went to see it, sure, but I think we stayed 45 mins tops. Ugh.

The majority of functions happen n the evenings, however, there is an afternoon Tea and Tipples every month on the weekend which is always amazing.
