ooh la la!! i had been told about this club by a
member of the los angeles athletic club, which
has a reciprocal relationship-and that the pool
is good but that the restaurant is outstanding.
and half the price of what you would have to pay
were you dining elsewhere! i was not disappointed.
first, everyone spoke french -duh-meaning i had to
pay attention to elegant french and since i can
clear my mind and hear and understand, it was
really as if i had been transported to another era.
the club, located in the fanciest part of paris if you
ask me is the nec plus ultra in elegance! i ate before
i swam-only took advantage of the salad bar as i
wanted to not overdo the calories, alas, but they
offer a series of buffets which are so appealing.
and well priced. the clientele is beyond elegant-
i was not exactly in my stylish garb but the people
on either side of me, in fine suits, did not seem to
notice and when i left my postcards on the floor
the waitress came running out after me!! i then
went tothe pool which is lovely, but they do not
have lanes, so you do have to be polite and mind
your manners in paris this is not so difficult.
i ran into an english speaking woman named portia
who swims there regularly and i felt as if i could
be in la as well as paris. th edressing rooms have
been redone and are spacious-towels are large
and comfy and i only wish i could have made a repeat
visit for another workout and lunch-the brunch
on sunday seemed to be expensive but i am not
quite sure what is offered. if you have an opportunity
to visit this facility, don't miss it-an old world glimpse
into paris at its best. read more
