Argyle Country Club - Children's birthday party

Argyle Country Club

Love me some Argyle. Is this Columbia CC or Congressional? No. Argyle has a great vibe and is…read moremuch less pretentious than some other clubs can be, and is within the financial grasp of many more folks than some other clubs. Since the recent remodel, the grill is a fantastic place to hang out and I've noticed the food markedly improved since the arrival of a new chef. It's really very good. The staff is super friendly, even to freeloading guests such as myself, and the pro shop is excellent. The course is typically in very good shape. #5 has been under construction forever it seems. There are quite a few blind shots and there's a par 3 on the back that is my nemesis, #13 I believe. Great place to play golf and hang out. I'm always open for an invite!

This place has improved over the years. Looks like they are redoing some green surrounds and…read morebunkers soon too. I heard rumors they are redoing their fairways next year as well. Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.

When we entered into the hall it was 100 degrees inside the party hall. They switched on the air conditioner after we entered in the hall. Later that day even that air conditioner broke down. The building itself is very well built on a gorgeous wooded land with ample and very organized parking space. The entrance lobby, reception desk, high ceilings, stunning crystal chandeliers, very well made and positioned restrooms and accommodations, light dimmers and bar-room plus various other rooms to include a beautiful special sectioned room with fascinating tall bay windows all in all made Kamran Center one of the best decisions we have ever made. Oh and I must say our deejay loved the place even more than us -something special about the sound and dance floor combination! Our guests loved the place and the ceremony ended up being the dream wedding we had both always pictured. Kamran Center has a great energy to it, go for it and rest assured you and your guests will absolutely LOVE it!! - Payman

My mother was extremely happy, and our guests truly enjoyed the celebration. The event space is spacious and beautiful, with plenty of room for our decorations, dining tables, entertainment, and dancing. Since there was no other event scheduled that day, we were generously allowed to decorate in advance, which made our preparation much easier and less stressful. The kitchen area and available food warmers were also very convenient for serving our large group of guests. Dennis was friendly, professional, and very easy to communicate with. He clearly explained all the available options, answered our questions, and offered helpful suggestions throughout the planning process. Ariana was also extremely helpful. She assisted us with the room layout, open-bar arrangements, and room discounts for our guests. Her recommendations helped us use the space effectively and made the entire celebration run smoothly. We are very grateful to the entire team for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable 80th birthday celebration for our Nanay. We highly recommend this venue for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and other special occasions!

My wife and I worked with Milton Ridge representative Meaghan to make our wedding day perfect. The only issue was due to this being a July wedding, it was extremely hot. The chapel was air conditioned, but I think the amount of guests all in one room made the ceremony very hot. Also there was a problem with the air conditioning in the grooms suite, but since it was recently redeveloped I believe the issue will be fixed soon. The food we served at our reception was fantastic, even though the two of us didn't have much time to eat it since were busy mingling with guests. Overall, my wife and I are very happy with our choice of making Milton Ridge be part of the most important day of our lives. Thank you Milton Ridge, Benjamin Yeager

It has taken me six months to write this review because I wanted to make sure I shared our…read moreexperience thoughtfully rather than out of frustration. From the very beginning, our experience with this venue was disappointing. When we arrived for our scheduled tour, we waited approximately 20 minutes before anyone greeted us. Once someone finally came to meet us, she didn't know who we were or even the year of our wedding, despite us providing that information when scheduling the appointment. During the meeting, we explained our vision for our October 2025 wedding. We also shared that incorporating my Puerto Rican culture into our menu was extremely important to us. We were told that their caterers could "pretty much do anything" and that we would be able to customize the menu with Puerto Rican appetizers and entrées. We also informed them that we had hired our own wedding coordinator. We were assured that this would not be an issue because they regularly worked with outside vendors. The venue itself is beautiful, and that's ultimately what convinced us to book. Unfortunately, the problems started almost immediately after we paid our $1,000 deposit. When it came time to sign our contract, we were quoted a completely different price than the estimate we had received. We later learned that the consultant had mistakenly provided us with 2024 pricing instead of the 2025 pricing--even though we repeatedly stated throughout the meeting that our wedding was in October 2025. The written estimate included prices but did not indicate the year they applied to. When I brought this to the attention of the venue director, I was met with attitude rather than understanding. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, I was told I would have to pay the higher rate. It took my wedding planner stepping in and advocating on our behalf before the venue finally honored the original quoted pricing. Sadly, this set the tone for the rest of our planning experience. Throughout the year, communication was difficult. Questions often went unanswered for days, and when my coordinator reached out for information or clarification, she was frequently met with resistance rather than cooperation. One of our biggest disappointments involved the food. We specifically chose this venue because we were told the menu was highly customizable and that incorporating our culture would be easy. As planning continued, we learned that wasn't true. The only customization we were ultimately allowed was one appetizer. The flexibility that had been presented during the sales process simply wasn't available. We also encountered unnecessary difficulties because we chose not to use the venue's preferred vendors. While we had been told during the tour that outside vendors were welcomed, that did not reflect our experience during planning. On our wedding day, things did not improve. Our coordinator had to push just to gain access to the reception space so she could finish setting up in less than two hours. Throughout the day, no one from the venue checked on us, asked if we needed anything, or made us feel like valued clients. We felt like just another event rather than a couple celebrating one of the biggest days of our lives. Several of our guests were also denied drink service despite not being intoxicated, which created unnecessary confusion and frustration during the reception. At the very end of the night, the only interaction we had with venue staff was being handed a gift and told we were receiving a refund check. When I asked how much it was, I discovered the refund was for one dollar. After everything we had experienced over the previous year, that moment honestly felt insulting. The most disappointing part of this experience wasn't the pricing issue, the vendor restrictions, or even the communication problems. It was the overall feeling that our happiness as a couple simply wasn't a priority. We never felt supported, appreciated, or cared for throughout the planning process. It's unfortunate because the venue itself is beautiful. However, beautiful grounds cannot make up for poor communication, inconsistent information, and a lack of customer care. Six months later, I'm still disappointed by how we were treated. We were happy to invest thousands of dollars in our wedding here, but we never felt like we were treated with the respect and care that every couple deserves. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so future couples have a much better experience than we did.
