I was looking for a jeweler who didn't send rings out to be worked on, but rather one who did the work themselves in store. I found Designs by Aaron online and SO glad I did! I wanted a ring designed for 3 generations of diamonds, my grandmother's, my mother's and mine, to eventually pass down to my daughter. I went in with a design in mind and Frances perfectly created on paper exactly what I envisioned and described. Aaron then created the ring perfectly! It's so beautiful, and I love it!! Everyone there is so sweet, so very good at what they do, they take the time needed to get things just right from design to finished product, and the cost is very reasonable, imo. Went to purchase some silver chains for pendants. Was quoted about $670 for a single byzantine chain. Price of silver today was about $40/oz. Found exactly the same necklace from the exactly the same producer on Etsy for $105. Draw your own conclusions. read more

I had a number of small diamonds. none of which I ever wore. When a friend showed me her custom-made ring, which was beautiful, I thought about my collections little diamonds. I went in to talk to the folks at Designs By Aaron, and I told them I wanted to create a ring where the diamonds were like the stars in the Milky Way. After about 5 conversations with Frances, who was EXTREMELY patient with my questions and evolving ideas, we settled on a design. I picked up my finished ring this afternoon, and couldn't be happier. It's so beautiful, and looks just like what I imagined. Working with the folks at Designs By Aaron was a breath of fresh air. My mom and I both have switched to this jeweler (from a larger jeweler in the area) after a few bad experiences. I cold called them with questions related to repairing a ring, tightening some stones on a second ring and appraising a third. The woman who answered was unbelievably friendly and informative. And available. I stopped by that same afternoon; the stones were tightened while I waited and the other items were done by the end of the day. I needed to have my wedding band resized and decided to stop in here. I dealt directly with the owner who could not have been nicer. He did a great job with my ring for a very reasonable price and while I was there, he took a look at my engagement ring, showed me that one of the prongs was actually loose, and fixed it for free. That led me to ask about the advisability of switching out my setting for a six prong instead of a four prong (to make it less likely I could lose my diamond.) He provided lots of information, but zero pressure to do anything. It was great to talk to someone who is obviously so knowledgeable but who understands the value of not pressuring customers. The jewelry in the cases was gorgeous. If I lived nearby, I'd be in there all the time. Highly recommend. read more
