DESIGN lab Birghton!!!!!
Worst customer service I have ever received (from JERRY the owner/manager I'm not sure as he would not convey this to me)!!! If you are the owner you want to be ashamed of yourself hiding behind the age old I'm just the manager routine!
I recently bought two pairs of GSTAR jeans from this store (£120 each so a real treat for myself bought out of my hard earned) and one of the pairs had a hole in the crotch where the stitching had not been completed properly. No problem I thought, these things happen (I live in Manchester so logistically a bit of a nightmare but no bother) I'll just call the store to sort it out! So thats exactly what I did and I spoke to someone at Design Lab who could not have been any more accommodating towards me. They went and checked the stock confirmed that they had the same size and colour and told me if I could get them back to the store they would put the new pair in the back simply exchange them for me. Brilliant (£6.70 postage for the trouble).
On Monday I get a call from the person who I had sent the jeans to (a family member who very kindly volenteered to go in for me to exchange them) saying that Design Lab wouldn't exchange them as GSTAR would not accept them back and that was that, implying that I had damaged the jean! Plus now all of a sudden there are no more pairs of that style of jean left in the store HUMMMMM? (I'm not sure about Brighton but all the reputable clothing stores that I shop in have good enough relationships and credit lines with their suppliers that exchanges are met with no FUSS or attitude (the kind that I experienced from this store). 'Jerry' let me know that he had been in the GAME for over 20 years (is it time to get out of the game mate if your selling dodgy goods and not honouring the SALE OF GOODS ACT 1979)??????
If anyone else has bought any dodgy gear from here that need stitching up my Nan is a whiz on the machine and she would be more than happy to do this for you. If you could email ahead to designlabgran@bodgeit.com
Safe to say you wont be receiving any more custom from me when I visit Brighton again (great town by the way shame about this experience) and Design Lab is cutting corners and cheating customers really a viable, longterm business plan cos in these recessionary times customers dont want to be RIPPED off (quite literally)!
