The one star is only because the owner is a really nice guy. The rest of my visit was a disaster. My son desperately needed a haircut and his normal stylist is booked solid, so I decided to look for a barber. I figured a barber would know how to cut little boy's hair right? He has some crazy cowlicks and needs a specific style, when I saw the good reviews especially concerning kids I decided to try this place. When I called for an appointment I asked for someone who had experience cutting cowlicks and they said no problem. I showed up the next day, and the owner was super nice. Told me my barber was running late...ended up being half an hour late for the appointment they scheduled. I should've left then. When she finally showed up there was no apology or even a greeting. I showed her my son's cowlicks and explained we needed to keep the top long, I showed her pictures of what I wanted. What I got was an absolute hack job. She gave my son an edge I didn't ask for, she chopped his hair short on the top and now the back half is sticking straight up because she ignored what I said about cowlicks, and one side of his head is totally chopped and uneven, there was no blending at all. For being a shop that was praised for being good with kids there was zero effort to talk to my son or be gentle with him. I knew in the shop it wasn't what I wanted when she was done, and I shouldn't have paid for it, but frankly my parents raised me better than that. However when I got home and really got looking at it I saw how epically bad this cut was. My options are to shave his whole head and start over (which he doesn't want) or try and let this mess grow out and hope his normal stylist can fix it when she has time. I'm so disappointed in the quality of the cut and the customer service, which is such a shame because I love supporting local businesses whenever possible but I wouldn't ever set foot in this place again. Yelp you really let me down on this one. read more
