It's a 45 min mat pilates class taught by Abby and Melanie. May 30th was their last rooftop class for now until it gets cooler out again. My cousins happened to find the event and 4 of us joined since there was a 2 for 1 deal (about $11 each!). It was my first time taking a mat pilates class and I loved it, minus the burning sun part. If this were in spring or fall, it would be perfect! I parked one below in the shade and as soon as I walked up, I could already hear the music the dj had on and it was just my kinda music. Surrounding the grass area were different vendors including Starbucks, a matcha bar, skin care, tarot, gummies, protein bars, bread and cookies, women's health, massages, IV shots, health coaching and merch. The details of the event didn't say to bring our own mat so two of us forgot to pack one. Luckily, the instructors had a bunch of extras for anyone who forgot. They also provided bands for everyone. Those bands killed us. You'll feel the burn the next day. In fact, my whole body was sore for a few days and I started feeling it already that same night. After the class ended, we browsed the vendors. I purchased some gummies (hair/nails and energy), had a quick tarot reading done, grabbed some freebies and 2purchased matchas. For some reason the cashier called the owner at her home to discuss what to do. WHAT TO DO !!! ???? She was impatient and offered no help - wanted my cc # or whatever for a very unique product . I left with no credit, no refund, ZIP ZILCH. How about "no worries lets get you something else" THE RESPONSE elicits how a customer feels, responds, and maybe reviews on platforms that have a big influence on diners, shoppers etc. The owner called me out on my review saying I was threatening yelling, and scaring the employees. I am 70 and injured with a smashed shoulder, four broken ribs and a brain bleed. The last time I yelled at any employee was probably 1980. And I am harmless - never did that. The owner is a FIRE STARTER and would do better with people if she was an Amazon Warehouse worker and not a front facing small business owner. This is a bad ending and the fire will burn because she is a fire starter. BAD ENDING FOR HER and the fire is going to burn.

I noticed a lot of teenagers walking around, and the whole place feels lively in a way that teenagers would love. The outdoor areas, the open walkways, and the spots to sit or take pictures don't cost anything at all, which makes it easy to have fun there without needing a plan. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and saw how welcoming and upbeat the whole marketplace feels. It surprised me how comfortable it was to just be there without feeling rushed or overwhelmed by the crowds. Even though it's a shopping and entertainment center, it gives teenagers a great place to hang out, take photos, listen to music, or just be creative while exploring the different areas. I only visited Desert Ridge Marketplace one time in my life before making this review, but it ended up being one of the most enjoyable and youthful places I've been to in a long time. I never doubted that the experience would turn out the way I hoped it would. I've lived for 24 years, but in the summer of 2024 I learned that I'm still physically and mentally 18 years old, and that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than the average 25‑year‑old's. Maybe that's why I connect so much with places that feel playful, social, and full of energy. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to this marketplace because it gives them a fun, open space to enjoy themselves, walk around, and feel creative. Earlier this week, I met a friend for lunch at a restaurant in The District and then walked around and went into a few stores. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do. The Desert Ridge Marketplace is known for some great restaurants. While they have less in terms of fine dining, there are many great casual or upscale casual restaurants, national chains, and local chains. There are also some good fast casual restaurants to go. Some of my favorites include Islands, Tikka Shack, The Keg, Cafe Zupas, Fly Bye, and Flower Child. You can then grab some treats to go at ITSUGAR or Cold Stone Creamery. There are also plenty of shops from casual ones to nicer casual. You'll need to head to nearby Scottsdale Quarter or Kierland for the upscale shops. My wife and I frequent Barnes & Nobles, Bath & Body Works, Five Below, Kohls, Target, and DSW the most. Decent selection of stores, but not too many good restaurants, mainly overpriced chains. There's also an underlying snotty vibe at this mall. It's got Scottsdale vibes but none of the actual glam of Scottsdale. I prefer Chandler mall but will go here when needed. It can be pretty at night time, but it's usually decently hard to find parking.
