Worst groomer ever! She cut the beard off of our Giant Schnauzer and then charges $140 for the service. Terrible. Woman at the desk acted as though they cleaned her beard up. She is cleaned, brushed and any knots or tangles are cleared weekly. Her beard needed nothing more than a trim, now its up to her chin. read more

My mom took my dog in for her normal $25 dog bath. She left with an $80 bill and they asked if she wanted change from her $100 bill, meaning they expected a tip! They didn't tell her the price increase before hand and I hate people taking advantage of my 75 year old mother. read more

I was a little hesitant to make Mr. teddy here because of some reviews but I am so glad I took the chance! They did a great job proportioning his legs and body. I do wish they would have made his face & ears more rounder but I am willing to go back again to voice my concern and let them take care of it next time. I will say this was the most expensive groom I've ever paid for teddy $91 + tip. (Full groom, bath, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, paws shaved, anal shaved, & teeth brushed). However I do not care about the price as long as the service and quality is excellent! read more

I love that they offer walk-in service for nail trims, but they need to update their website. It currently states 8 AM to 6 PM Tuesday through Friday (and 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Saturday). I rushed home this afternoon, loaded my dog's large crate in the car, and then loaded my dog in the car...a dog who hates to ride in the car (hence the need for a crate). I arrived at 4:40 only to find out that the website is inaccurate and that they close "when they are done for the day." The receptionist was still sitting at the front desk and there were a few people in the back cleaning. Apparently they closed about 10-15 minutes prior to my arrival. I realize everyone wants to go home, but seeing me there with my dog -- and especially hearing that I had checked the hours on the website -- you would think they would have served me. I wasn't asking for anything more than a nail trim, which takes about five minutes. I am not faulting them for the quality I usually receive, but for the lack of customer service I received today. I will give them another try, but their website should be updated so that other customers don't face the same frustration. read more

Make sure stylist is clear about hair cut. I asked that a little be taken off my Sheltie. She went from beautiful to an all over military style buzz cut. I just assumed that she would stick with Sheltie standards. I am sickened to have paid so much for s'thg so completely ugly. read more

I am usually never one to write Yelp reviews, but I felt that in this situation, everyone needed to know how horrible this place is. My sister and I have twin Pomeranians that we got from the same litter about a year back. I decided to take my Pomeranian to get groomed at this place and I specifically asked them to "trim her down a little bit and also do some de-shedding on her" I specifically told the girl I didn't want her hair to be too short but just enough to keep her cooler during the summer. When I went in the pick my puppy up, I was horrified! They had taken a razor and shaved all of her hair completely off to the point that her stomach was red from razor burn. On top of that, they said my total was going to be $70 and I immediately asked to speak to a manager. The girl at the front desk walked back and told the owner that I wanted to speak to her, but the owner was in the process of grooming a dog at the moment so instead of stopping for a minute and coming to see what I needed, she made me stand there for 15 minutes until she was completely done grooming the dog and then walked up with an attitude and asked what I needed. By this point, I was beyond pissed so I informed her how upset I was and how inhumane it was for them to do this. It's a known fact that you should never shave a Pomeranians hair completely because the undercoat will most likely never grow back the same. The owner didn't seem to care that much at all but she did give me a refund after I threatened to write a bad review on yelp. Her excuse was that the lady misunderstood my mom when she dropped her off and that she thought we wanted a full shave. The first few pics are of what my baby looked like before we took her in. The next ones are what she looks like now and the last one is her next to her sister after getting groomed. She hasn't stopped scratching since we got home and we have to wrap her in a blanket to keep from shivering. Please don't ever take your dog to these people. read more

My dog died while in their care. Healthy King Charles Cavalier, dies. He got a bath, was put in his cage after bathing, and when they went to get him for trimming he was not breathing. This is the second incident I have heard of. Most of the people there are very caring (one of the technicians rushed my pup to the nearest vet, and was visibly upset when he did not survive). Some are less than caring. I wonder what was done to him. read more

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes they do a very god job, and other times my poor shih tzu comes out with a mullet. If you need to schedule an appointment, make sure you call at least a week in advance. The chances of getting in quickly are slim. read more

We have gone to Designer Dogs for 9 years now. They have always taken the best care of my 2 dogs that they have groomed. Three weeks ago they called while they were grooming my dog to make me aware of something they had found on my dog's foot. We knew that he had something wrong but, our vet couldn't find anything. After going to a new vet and getting second opinion, we found out that it was cancer. I am so thankful that they took the time to call me, not even waiting until I got there to pick him up, to let me know of their findings. They have always been great at communicating and showing wonderful care for my dogs. read more

You guys are completely unprofessional when it comes to your employees. I brought my dog there and the ladies up front wouldn't listen to anything I had to say about my pet. They not only cut his hair wayy too short but they also didnt clip his nails as i had requested. Our precious shitzhu, only 6 years old, has never had any previous health issues prior to us moving to Designer Dogs. The family has noticed a recurring theme as every time she gets groomed, she develops another health issue. First, she developed a gruesome anal abscess that bled and caused her extreme pain, and cost a high vet bill with a collection of medications. We learned that these form due to poor cleansing and bacterial growth of the anal glands, which the groomers are responsible for expressing. The next time, she began to develop the same abscess, but this time we recognized the symptoms, also immediately after being groomed. This past time, our sweet dog contracted a horrible UTI which cost another hefty vet bill including antibiotics and painkillers. The veterinarian informed us that, these too, are caused by bacteria and poor hygiene. Without any other changes in her lifestyle, we have no choice but to believe that Designer Dogs is responsible. It's a shame because they have always done a great job and have great service, but must have extremely poor hygiene for our sweet girl to suddenly become so sick immediately after every visit. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Employees are inexperienced and rude- I had my dog groomed and they shaved off his whiskers (I did not ask them to do that) and the cut was uneven/had gaps. I paid to have my dog's nails cut and they failed to cut them- and still charged me the same price. Children bathe the dogs. Employees ignored me and gave me attitude. I have taken my dog here for about 3 years and today was the last day! He is a rescue and has always disliked having his feet and face groomed, which I tell them every time I drop him off. Today, however, I was charged a $10 handling fee out of the blue because they said it took two people to hold him. They tell me it takes 2 people very time, so what's new except their surprise extra fee! The groomer even called to ask how short I wanted his hair around the face. There was plenty of time to tell be about an extra charge. I even called to pick him up an hour early, and still no mention of an extra charge, until I am standing there to pay. They have already increased their rates by $10 since we started. Then I was asked for a tip on top of that! It cost me $70 to get my dog shaved and he is a small poodle. Never again! That was a very poor way to treat a repeat customer who has also given them referrals in the past. I will take my business elsewhere and I recommend you do the same. read more
