I really am at a lose of words for this place and the owner Deborah. The items at Intaglia are…read morealways very trendy and good quality and such a great deal compared to similar items online. I think what makes this place exceptional is the customer service. Deborah is so responsive to text messages and will send over photos of items based on inquiry. The kindest thing is how out of her way she went to ensure I had a very sentimental gift for my partner for Christmas. I bought a frame with a little quote on it back in March for my boyfriend which ended up getting lost in our move. It was a very special thing for us because of the saying and I was gutted when it came up missing. I texted Deborah and asked if she had any and she went out of her way to go to the store (it's closed for the holidays), pick up the last frame for me and print a new sign for inside of the frame based on our last one. Guys, this little frame is $15 so I doubt it's about the monetary gain here. I'm in tears at the thought of someone doing something so special for another person. Debrorah, if you are reading this - thank you SO much.

This is a breath-taking store with highly well-appointed displays of furniture, knick-knacks (some…read moreof the rustic Americana style, some more stylized and upscale, and everything in between), sofa pillows, throws and other blankets, beautifuly framed paintings, framed prints, picture frames, dried arrangements, vases, candles, candleholders, jewelry, scarves and seasonal items. And probably much more I don't remember. Today, huge pumpkins (papier-mache??) and Halloween glitz decocated the front porch. It was quite inviting. When my friend and I entered, we were both welcomed and offered a beverage (latte or cappuccino), plus there was a carafe of lemonade with cups just inside the door. There's a lot to see in here . . . and a lot you could miss -- wonderful treasures disarmingly displayed as you might display a hutch in your dining room or a cozy wooden table for four in your kitchen. So accessories are everywhere! There were lots of little (and bigger) plaques everywhere . . . about golf, fishing, family and assorted topics. There isn't a "plaque" department -- they're just everywhere, so you could be surprised at the turn of a corner. I don't know where they get their furniture and all the other items they have, but I've never seen the likes of most of these things . . . the craftsmanship, the uniqueness, the originality! A lot of the furniture pieces are quite large, so you'd need plenty of space in your room, and know the measurements you can accommodate. I don't believe I looked at one price tag . . . . except the gorgeous antique dining room hutch, which was in the $2,400-$2,900 range, and you'd need 12-foot ceilings and at least a 20x20-foot room to display it properly, unless you have a massive foyer, and it would work there, too. But I didn't buy anything either . . . just enjoyed the ride while my friend bought some lovely home furnishings and a beautiful pair of snowflake holiday earrings that were maybe $7-$10.

Wife and I have shopped and purchased items from Elder's approximately a dozen times. Yes, their…read morefront is boarded up, but I do not blame them one bit due to the violent enablers that use an excuse to commit hideous acts against small businesses in the name of justice. Those types are despicable and have no place in a civil society. They remind me of the self righteous zealots that history has written about and they never build, only to destroy and force others to conform through terror. Yes, they can be a little pricey but it depends on what you're looking for. My opinion is most items are reasonable and I do some research before purchasing anything so I do not overpay. Wife and I are collectors of vintage and antiques so we can display beautiful items at our house. We buy to save beauty and do not intend to resale and canvas other antique stores in the county in hopes of finding to preserve items from the past. If you are into vintage/antique furniture, crystals, silver pieces, Elder's is a very good stop. We love beautiful handcrafted mahogany furniture and have purchased a couple of pieces from them that we proudly displace to admire. Of course, some TLC was applied to restore the luster of the wood but it was well worth the effort and price. I can tell most of the negative reviews are from the hateful angry sort that have the "conform or else" mentality of the crazy despondents roaming the streets like wildlings. Just ignore them and see for yourself. Oh, I am a minority and care less about loud opinionated people and their rudeness, I only care how I'm treated individually and Elder's has always been respectful and friendly towards me. Even gave us extra discounts for being repeat customers. I patronize other business that might have different political beliefs than me, but I only care how they treat me if I'm being polite and respectful to them. If they conduct themselves badly, I just won't go there again and take my business elsewhere and obviously post a negative review reflecting my DIRECT ENCOUNTER with the establishment, not based on an assumption because I judged the book by its cover. I try to give everyone the chance to prove their worthiness and I expect the same from myself and not be a hypocrite like so many others out there. Grow up people and maybe you'll induce a little happiness into your life...or not lol.

I usually buy smaller pieces here, including old photos (nerd that I am, I look through the ones that have legible names on the back and find descendants of those depicted). They offer a sizeable discount if you pay in cash. No mask requirement, but vaccines have been available for quite some time and the place is big enough to space yourself many feet from the nearest person.

Reclaim Renew offers beautiful, timeless reclaimed barnwood furniture pieces from local barn wood that reflect your unique style and personality. Most of their furniture is created from the wood of 100-year-old barns and is custom-designed to suit any home or office needs. They really offer anything you can imagine, from dining tables to bedroom furniture and everything in between. It seems like they can build just about anything. Their brand new showroom in Kirkwood just opened this month and it is full of so much charm. Walking around I could see how much love the owners of this store have for their craft. Although I wasn't in the market for furniture, it was fun to see the different pieces they can produce and how customizable they seem. For example, on one wall they had every type of table leg they offer alongside their table tops. Mix and match to find exactly what suits your home! I love that concept. It makes your home feel so much more personalized that purchasing a mass produced table from IKEA. I had the pleasure of talking to the owner as well. His energy was infectious! He showed me around briefly and was just a very positive spirit in the space. I ended up buying a new wooden Christmas ornament from Reclaim Renew, and proudly display it on my tree. It's so important to support local businesses like this in St. Louis.

Their candles are 100% Soy and the fragrances are classic and unique. During the holidays, their best seller was, Reindeer Poop. Don't worry, it really didn't smell like its name. One is for display only and the other can actually be used. If you are in my house and don't know which is which, just ask me to be safe. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They do soft selling, so they will not pressure you while you browse.

When the sixth table came in and was perfect, she called us to say it was there. She definitely provides great service to her customers. She will have us as customers forever.
