I have to say - not living in New York any longer, I miss my job terribly. Since 2004 I have not yet found one company like Design Lighting! A company run so well so smoothly and takes pride in all their work & not to mention how well they treat all their customers not to mention his employees! I worked for Mark for many years (over 20) and still would be if I hadn't moved. Mark stands by his work and is meticulous about every job he does. Every job is as important as his first-& he has been in the business for over 40 years. I Wouldn't even be able to mention all the pleased customers I have spoken to after all the years working for this company ~ but my favorite calls were when they would call after the job was completed in one day totally amazed and mesmerized by the transformation of their property in most of the time one day! So imagine you have no lighting in the morning and you come home that night from work and all of a sudden you can see your property like a piece of art! All his customers are absolutely blown away by this!! Those were the best phone calls!! We always aimed to please (I'm sure they still do) and the customer is always right- but usually nothing ever usually was wrong but to their surprise usually ended up being more magnificent than expected! THIS is because he takes his time to design the job in detail for all his employees so the work is completed with ease... everything is put together in the warehouse before he gets to each and every job & by the way he uses the highest quality product and absolutely always stands by his work not mentioning the time factor in which the work is completed is amazingly fast! He aims to please! They also have a great service department that is quick to respond I would recommend this company to everyone! And to say he has competition could never be true because what he does is what no other company can do because he is a true designer and totally prepared. My experience over the last four months on this generator installation has had its ups and downs. A big part of the problem has been the availability issue. Also, if I had to do over again I would not have used a separate propane company, I would have used design lighting for everything. The preliminary installation work was premature as the generator delivery was delayed. The transfer switch for my existing portable generator was disconnected 4 to 6 weeks prior to the delivery of my new generator. This resulted in several short power outages where I had no generator availability. Thankfully, both outages were less than six hours long. The propane company that I chose was unresponsive which created permit problems with the local building inspectors. They also neglected to delineate what responsibilities were mine versus their's. Mark and his team proved to be excellent problem solvers. On several occasions they came to the rescue and took charge of issues/problems created by the propane company. Mark and his crew really transformed our house. Mark did a fabulous lighting design for our new pool and his crew installed in less than a day. Our pool looks great. We had him back out to do the front about a year later and our house always gets compliments from the neighbors on how nice it looks.
