The couch and love seat in my house were -- putting it mildly -- pretty beaten up by the attentions of a generation of people and several generations of felines. I could have replaced them with new ones, but the design of these two pieces is suited perfectly to the design of the house and I knew that I wouldn't be able to find new ones that would fit the room so well. The couch and love seat both have a lot of exposed wood, which needed attention as much as the upholstery did after years of use ... by people and cats both. Justin worked hard on this project and made many excellent suggestions as to choice of fabrics, improvements to the style and fit of the cushions, and more. Can't believe that he actually cut out a cushion foam based on his recommendation and dressed it with Dacron so that I could take it home to try. The overall experience was casual, collaborative and consultative. Tried his best to understand our concerns and the ergonomics of our couch relative to our physical attributes. I needed the seat cushions of my 1980s kitchen chairs reupholstered. The original vinyl had cracks…read moreand the foam and wood seats were broken down. I called Brian and arranged to drop off the cushions and one chair frame at his garage workshop. He had a large selection of vinyl fabrics and sample swatches to select from. I brought my paint chip to help select the color I needed. He also had foam samples, so I could select the firmness I needed. Brian was great to work with. He ordered the fabric, created new wood bases and cut new foam for the cushion. He had the four cushions ready in about two weeks just as he promised. The price with labor and materials was $115 per seat cushion which was very reasonable. His craftsmanship is excellent and the seats feel like soft leather even though they are vinyl and easy to wipe clean.
