I used to go to Malinee's when she was located in Oshawa. She had mentioned that she was looking to…read moremove to Ajax and I'd held out hope because it wouldn't be as far to go for her amazing Mussaman Curry. During Covid I noticed that she was no longer open so I assumed she'd fallen victim to the times we were in. Then one day, Yelp decided to send me a notification asking if I was looking for good Thai in my area. I figured I scroll through their suggestions and to my surprise and delight, up popped Malinee's! I wasted no time and hurried in to order her Mussaman Curry. It was as amazing as I remembered it. My husband went with the Chicken with Cashews. Both were delicious and I left with a happy belly. I was so happy that I could even look over some of the cleanliness issues I noticed. It was only a few weeks later when I went again. I went with the Mussaman Curry again but this time, my husband opted for the Beef Pa-Neng Curry. I was somewhat confused by what we were presented with. My Mussaman curry was watery and not as flavourful as it normally is. I'm used to this dish being thick, creamy and hearty but this was lack-lustre. I think the most disappointing thing was that the vegetables in both dishes appeared to have freezer burn and were just store-bought bagged frozen mixed vegetables. Most of the beans were completely inedible. It was very disappointing. Between the inconsistency in food quality and the lack of cleanliness gives me pause. It's such a shame because her Mussaman curry is normally on point but I'm not sure if I'll be back.

The pad Thai was super super yummy Probably one of the best I have tried in a long time The skewers were nice with the peanut sauce and the dumplings had chicken in them and came with a nice sweet Thai sauce The owner/cook was so friendly and super nice Price was super reasonable and portions were good I used to get my Thai food in Scarborough but now that I have found this gem of a Thai restaurant in Durham, I will certainly be going back for more

Beautiful decor, attentive staff, delicious food!…read more I came with an associate for late lunch after a workshop. The staff were phenomenal. Made sure allergies and preferences were accounted for. When I was moving some black sesame on the mango sticky rice for a photo, they even came rushing over to make sure I didn't find anything unsavory in my dish. We all had a chuckle.

We all ordered one dish and the prices range from $18 - $28 depending on the protein. I tried the Pad garlic pepper beef $21. I was very surprised to find out steamed rice (extra $3) is not served with your entree. My wife ordered the Thai basil chicken and mother-in-law had the chicken green curry. Overall the food portion is decent and flavours are alright. The thai ice tea was good as well. In terms of dining experience, we had to follow up several times to get our take out order and containers. I know this restaurant recently opened about 2 months ago so there's room for improvement. In terms of larger groups of 6 people or more the menu indicates a mandatory gratuity of 18%. I am not a fan of the mandatory gratuity and should be left to the client. If you're looking for some Thai cuisine with good portions and depth of flavours, then this place might be for you. Some may find this place on the pricier side.

Steady stream of pick up and takeout orders seem to pile up quickly. We ordered spring rolls, Panang beef curry and Thai chicken noodle soup for lunch and packed a shrimp green curry and rad na for dinner later. The panang beef curry was choke full of veggies and large slices of beef enrobed in fairly mild red curry with a side of rice. This was delicious and definitely will order again. Thai chicken noodle soup arrived with fried garlic bits and a very flavourful darker broth (guessing due to the cow/pig blood & dark soy sauce used) which seemed small when I received it but it was definitely enough food at lunch. Everything about this noodle soup was superb! It was a pleasant surprise to come back in such a long time to an improved food experience. I'll be back for more for sure!

Ive been ordering it from different places downtown and it has been lovely every single time. Tonight I was looking for somewhere open past 11 in North york and this place was the only option with these soups but was 4.2 star.. i decided to trust it anyway.. not impressed. The soup was very watery, very salty, not that deep tom yum flavour it should have . Its like a salty watered down version & the shrimp is usually jumbo but this place serves crap shrimp. It consisted of only CARROTS and shrimp. The mango sticky rice ?????? Im not sure if this is a different authentic way to make it but i have never seen this before ? Photos are included . It didnt taste bad but this wasnt what i was craving. The mango & (brown) rice was all cooked and mixed together? Im so lost . You cant just change up popular authentic dishes was not what i was expecting to receive as comfort food late night

Tofu fresh roll is ridiculous with super small piece of tofu. The pho broth is tasty. The spring rolls is good. The pickled carrot/radish is not as good as other places, but considering it is mostly just a garnish (even though I eat it), it's acceptable, I guess. Grilled chicken vermicelli is delicious. The tofu fresh roll is a complete waste of money. Two thick rolls thats filled with noodles, some veg, and a small piece of tofu that's as long as, but HALF as thick as my thumb (about 2inches long, 3/4inch wide, 1/2cm thick), is not worth $10. It's just tofu, it's not steak, either put more tofu or lower the price, because that is ridiculous. Including pic of the tofu fresh roll cut to show the size of the tofu thats actually hidden under all the noodles until I pull it out to the front. When we went in, the whole place smelled like cleaning solution. Not a very appetitizing smell at all. We got the food to go.
