Apparently, they want you to upgrade the package in order to be able to cancel if your child is sick? A fair sick cancellation policy should NOT be dependent on a more expensive package. That's completely ridiculous. Meanwhile, if the instructor 'late cancels', we don't get a refund....instead, we are forced to do a make-up session even when the make-up times/days is not convenient for us. We don't get a refund....they make sure THEY don't lose money, but you are out of luck if your child wakes up sick.

The staff is rude and all they do is just read the policy to you. So if I could give a 0 for service I would. Facilities are poor as well, you walk in every time it smells disgusting and that is not just one time, it is every time. Beyond that, there is no sound proofing at all, you can hear what the student next to you are playing even if is a soft piano, they might as well be in the same room. The only saving grace are the excellence teachers they have.

That gave everyone the chance to view, listen, and even sing a long to their performances. What a way to bring great people together, Ed Z! The band was rocking so loud that we could even hear them outside when my friends and I went to the pumpkin patch and house to snap some photos. The original plan was for them to perform outside. But because of the rain, they had to perform inside. This weather-related change didn't hurt their spirit at all. In fact, they performed without even caring about the rain. This band no doubt has an edge over some of the other bands whom I encountered on my previous 25th cruise, which is based on their performance qualities and professionalism. Based on how they performed, it was quite easy for me to see and hear why they are always booked and only have a very limited amount of time for public events. For this case, the General Yelp Event was a private one. Overall, this is an excellent cover band, and probably the best one that I have ever heard. On another note, the house band came to play at a fundraiser we are very involved in. The talent of these kids was a shock to so many who watched them walk in and didn't know what to expect. The band played for an hour and we must have had 15 people comment to us on how much they sounded like Jimmy Page, Nancy Wilson and so many of the others they covered. They were amazing. 2 of them are national SOR all stars too, so we actually had celebrities on stage! I never had the opportunity to meet the DJ ahead of time---which I found very strange sinmce all other events I have had DJs for previously, I was able to sit down with the DJ ahead of time and discuss details for the party. I was told the DJ would contact me ahead of time---he finally called two days before the party and left a message---I called back that same day, as well as several times over the next two days and was never able to contact him---only a stupid message. Getting nervous, I called Primetime and was told not to worry he was one of their best DJs----While setting up the party, I received a call about an hour before the party was to start saying the original DJ could not come and they were sending a replacement. Guests started arriving at 6:30pm, the DJ showed up at close to 7pm and did not start playing until 7:15---and then the music he played was more appropriate for old people, not the roomful of teenagers present---"muzak" during dinner, and then he didn't have half the music the guests requested---he also brough his son who proceeded to run around the whole party barefoot. People left early, my daughter was in tears, and overall this was a miserable experience that ruined her HS graduation party---NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

This old building probably didn't have to house as much food and merch purchasing back in its day but the multiple concession lines were blocking people from just getting to the theater and accessing their seats. They have tons of low quality junk food for sale. The huge group sitting next to us had chicken fingers, fries, a ketchup smell that wouldn't go away... it was honestly ridiculous the food they allow in people's laps just to turn profits. I was surprised these people were buying full huge meals (that had to cost $40+ each for junk) at 3:30pm to hold it in their laps for a 1.75h kids' show. Whatever. Point is, if you haven't eaten and want to pay $40 for crap that will linger in your body, you will not go hungry here. Clean bathrooms were the right size to allow a packed house to process themselves in the 20min intermission timeframe. This includes the ladies room, which always takes longer, and it was for a kids' show, which adds even more time. I recommend pairing your visit with the Rutgers Zimmerli Art Museum if you have time. They are open until 6pm most nights.

Perfect view of the stage, but I don't think it really matters much where you are seated due to the design of the auditorium. The opener was a rising singer/songwriter named Aniyyah, born and raised in New Jersey. Aniyyah's DJ had some technical issues loading her music at the start of her set, but wow, she has a voice on her. She, along with Raheem DeVaughn and Eric made for a fantastic show. They are all extremely talented vocalists, but Raheem DeVaughn without a doubt stole the show with his stage presence. Eric Benét however truly surprised me. His voice is absolutely incredible live. The State Theatre did a major renovation back in 2020 and the interior was previously renovated in 2004. It's as if we have a piece of Broadway right in the middle of New Brunswick, New Jersey. I felt like I stepped right into the 1920s with their vintage design and architecture. The acoustics inside the theatre are phenomenal. I'm not sure if it was my seating, but the sound was so crisp and well balanced. I can understand why any artist would choose this theatre as their preferred venue to perform in. One important note is their designated passageway to the closest parking deck which would otherwise be a long walk in the freezing cold. We were able to use the enclosed heated hallway as a shortcut which leads directly from the garage to the State Theatre located on Livingston Ave. We almost walked right past the entrance to the passageway, so I wanted to make sure I shared it with anyone who has read this far into my review : ) It's been many years since I've come to see a show here, and I had an enjoyable experience. I look forward to checking out any of their other events in the near future.
