Dr. S never makes you feel rushed and is totally understanding of the new parent whoas and concerns. The staff at Pediatric Group of WO is also excellent. They keep the office running smoothly and generally on time. The staff does a great job accommodating same day appointments for sick patients. One of the doctors monitors the after-hours answering machine each night until 10pm. After 10pm, a service handles any calls from patients. The waiting room is large -- though there is no separate "sick patient" area.

It used to be when you walked into a doctor's office, they had more than HMO training, more than just the ability to follow HMO rules and regulations, there used to be doctors who actually had knowledge and were intuitive about your body and condition. You will find this once again Elaine. Over eight years ago, after having gone to a myriad of doctors and specialist, all of which were baffled by my condition, it was Elaine who was finally able to pin-point my issues and begin to help me work through them. By the time I had reached her, I was in fairly bad shape, unable to walk on my own and had a lump in my breast, most doctors were penciling in the death certificate but Elaine took a far more positive approach. She worked with my family to help us develop a treatment protocol which centered around my desire to stay as holistic as possible. She was sensitive to my desire to treat the cancer holistically and supported my decision, even though at times, I knew she was concerned. Elaine did not lecture me or try to force me into anything I was not comfortable in doing. They picked up the phone quickly, we're empathetic with my concerns, scheduled an appointment for a me within an hour and, when I arrived, I was taken to the X-ray area right Away. My tech, I think his name is Nish, was professional, put me at ease despite my issues with sharp pain and got the work done in short order. I was really grateful and impressed. Clean rooms, excellent patient service by a sharp, professional staff, quick results ... my doctor called me with the news that I broke one rib but it wasn't a displaced fracture. But if you want the short version, I do not trust their front office. They are incapable of managing appointments correctly and information. Their computer system always has a tendency to go down. Also, they confirmed my SOCIAL SECURITY info by reading it to me WITHOUT asking me to confirming the last 4 digits. Medical offices need to ask the patient for the last four confirm. NOT read it out on the phone!!! Very unprofessional and very risky for identity theft!!! Anyways, I originally made an appointment to see Dr. Ring. Went through all the steps on the phone to provide background info, insurance, etc in order to get the appointment. Great! A few days later, I received a packet in the mail to fill out. Awesome! This should save me time the day of the appointment. The day after that, I get a call the front desk receptionist saying that my ORIGINAL appointment date is no longer available, however, I could come at a NEW date to see the other doctor. That's fine. The next day, I get a call AGAIN from the same front desk receptionist saying "something" had happened to their computer system and they needed to get all my info again. This was odd. But, ok. I spend another 30 minutes providing the SAME information again. Then she said that my appointment was for the ORIGINAL date. And, I said that she just called me yesterday to change my appointment to the NEW date. Oh, on top of that, she asked if I was on "Medicare." I had gone through all my information, so I'm not sure where she got that fact from. The week of my appointment, I get yet again ANOTHER call from the same front desk receptionist. This time, she needed to confirm my Social Security number, so she read it to me. No medical professional does that over the phone. On top of that, she asked if my appointment was to come in for a circumcision. Seriously, WTF. I don't know how that even got into their system. At this point, I said forget it. Cancel my appointment, you don't need my information (as the computer system seems to go down often and you read out my info freely on the phone instead of asking for confirmation) and if I do see the doctor, I may not even get the service that I needed. DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION.
