Then after waiting a long time for a hygienist to come do the cleaning, they basically told me I wasn't booked for a cleaning and i had to wait until the hygienist had time between patients to see me or book another appointment. I felt they only wanted to get me in the door to charge my insurance for a bogus visit and X-rays. Total scam. Total waste of time.

I felt very cared for & I really appreciated his help & attention. The receptionist at the front desk was very organized and ran my insurance even before I got there to make sure I had coverage and had all of the payment details ready for me before I left which I really appreciated! When I first called this office, they refused to give me a quote or estimate for the specific billing codes because they said that I had to make an appoint with the dentist to see my situation. They would not even tell me if the cost would be above $1500 which was the price for crown and abutment that I was trying to match, by an oral surgeon who refuses to do the crown because I got the implant done by someone other than himself. So when I arrived for the appointment, it turns out that the Endodontist office did not send the X-rays because it was not time yet for my followup appointment, but Every Smile dental office gave me print out of the "treatment plan" and cost anyhow, when before they said they couldn't. And this is without their dentist examining my mouth. Why could they do this, when before they told me they would not give me an estimate unless I came into the office to see the dentist. Now I told them I wasted my time going there, when they gave me their answer anyhow when I didn't have to SHOW UP IN THEIR OFFICE. Cost is 2 x the oral surgeon's price of $1500, plus a discount cos I am a senior, I get their plan discount free, cost is $2300. Boy, I was NOT SMILING when I walked out their door! The reception was nice, though, so 2 stars instead of 1.

Had my teeth cleaned by Amy today and always love chatting with her. She has a precious rescue and so we always share stories about our rescue dogs. Always go in with dirty teeth and emerge with clean, sparkling ones! We have been patients at this office for about three years now and have never had any challenges or concerns. I love that Dr. Lee takes a wait and watch approach to potential challenges rather than just diving in with "we gotta fix it now and...". Obviously if it was something urgent, he wouldn't take that approach but he has slowly been replacing crowns that are many, many years old and I appreciate the way it is handled. Seriously- they always have a smile on their faces, they remember your previous visits, everyone acts professionally while still being extremely caring and sympathetic to said "fun" dental situations. I found myself with a messy root canal crown issue from a dentist I went to ages ago. It unfortunately resulted in me requiring a bone graft dental implant in my front tooth. Terrific! Ugggggg . Not any people look awesome without a front tooth, lm certainly not one;) I was recommend to Dr. Waring by my current (very good) dentist who swears by Dr. Waring's work. Both facilities communicated efficiently during this entire process... If you're new to implants, get ready to see your dentist a lot- you're gearing up for a year or so with some of these processes. There was never a time I went to either facility where the other doctor wasn't fully looped in on my progress. That's rare in itself! First off I want to say Dr. Hilgers is a very nice man and accomplished dental practitioner I have…read moreno problem with how he practices. My complaint is with how his office bills. I had a very good conversation with Dr. Hilgers and I appreciate the time he took to talk to me and try to explain why his office billed the way they did, I just was not satisfied with the answer that that I got. A number of years ago I had Dr. Hilgers do a root canal on a tooth that was under a crown. The root canal procedure was successful but a few months ago I started having a problem with that tooth. I called Dr. Hilger's office and asked what a visit might cost they instructed me the visit should cost about $267. He first took an x-ray which cost $35 billing code D0220 in addition to the Limited Oral Evaluation billing code D0140 cost of $129. Both of which is a fair price to pay. Since Dr. Hilgers performed the initial root canal procedure, one would expect to be charged something for the service or a dentist that truly cared about the work they performed previously would not charge a patient more then the standard office fee to spend less then 10 minutes to grind off a small area of the crown so the tooth was not as high a.k.a. Occlusal adjustment. I have had these adjustments done in the past by dentists on the east coast which were my family dentists and had previously done the installation of my crowns that needed adjustments. Some years later I had a crown fall off and my family dentist glued it back in for the cost of the standard office visit. I guess maybe over my 67 years I have come to expect too much from my family practitioners and I am just "old school" in my way of thinking. I guess the operative word is "FAMILY" dentist which both my wife and I considered Dr. Hilgers of Desert Dental Associates to be. We always have good conversations between his dental assistant and him. Dr. Hilgers office charged and additional $180 Billing Code D9951 Occlusal adjustment- limit which brought my total to $344. I realize Dr. Hilgers is running a business, he has overhead but I felt this charge was a bit high as I am on medicare and I do't have dental insurance. I called my dentist on the east coast and asked him about the cost, and he agreed it should not have had such an exorbitant price tag. My brother, who is in the medical and dental supply business also asked some of his customers and they agreed that the price was a bit on the high side. We live and work in a free enterprise system and people can charge what they want for their services, but people don't have to continue to pay high prices if they don't want to. Sometimes loyalty does have a price.There are many other good Dentists here in the the valley that would probably like my family's business. I mentioned that I talked to Dr. Hilgers personally about the bill, and I appreciated his time. He stated in all fairness he had to charge me what he charges all patients because of the demand that insurance companies put on his practice. He said he cannot charge me one price and an insured person another price. We all know, the price you pay for medical SERVICES can vary between the cash price and the insurance price. Being on a fixed income and having a bill this high one would hope you could negotiate a better price with cash. I had asked his associate that works at the front desk if there was anything we could do to bring the price down, she stated this was the best she could do, and then sarcastically said "I could charge you $690", which would have been totally unacceptable. We all have choices and I have made mine. I feel it is time to move on. Thank you Dr. Hilgers for your fine work, but it appears that money is more important then trying to work with your patients. I was't looking for a handout, I just wanted to be billed fairly.

The work was sub par and had to be redone multiple times. She ended up selling her practice and I decided to move on. That's what brought me to Dr. Patterson. My entire dental experience has improved since switching providers. Appointment reminders and confirmations are via text. They do have a strict cancellation policy, but who could blame them? There are no long waits because he schedules 1 client at a time. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two from arriving for them to be ready for me. As soon as I step into the office, all focus is on me, and not other clients. That alone is worth the minor hassle of having to confirm my appointment a couple times via text. The office is super clean and the technology he uses is top notch. While I did have to redo most of the work my previous provider did, the experience was so much better. The result of his work is also much much better and my teeth feel better than ever, despite all the work I've had. I also don't mind getting my teeth cleaned because Dr. Patterson is very meticulous and takes his time. He is incredibly thorough and has great bedside manner. I highly recommend this office if you're looking for a new dentist.

She called me to confirm my insurance information. I told her I couldn't talk right now because I had an appointment with the doctor, but she kept calling me over and over! I finally just hung up after she called again because it was obvious she didn't want to understand what I was saying. After a while, I filled out the forms they sent to my phone, including the insurance information. Suddenly, I received a text message saying my appointment was canceled. I called to find out the reason and was told the receptionist didn't like the way I spoke to her. Unbelievable! This is the first time in my life that the receptionist, who was so pushy and rude to me from the start, canceled my appointment on behalf of the doctor! In my opinion, making decisions on behalf of a doctor is absolutely wrong, especially if your initial communication with a potential patient was rude and completely inappropriate.

I came to Tempe Smiles because I wanted to see a Dentist faster than the Dental School could. I…read morealready knew what my problem was which was one screw in my bridge was losing bone around it due to an infection in the area. I also wanted a second opinion on what to do about it without losing my whole bridge.... or worse, my jawbone. The Dr. was friendly enough but seemed to me like he had no clue what to do about it. He was hemming and hawing a lot with no real answers. He then suggested some $2,500 teeth guards to help with my teeth grinding. What? I wasn't even grinding my teeth. The whole visit was a total waste of my time and money. I finally went back to the Dental School and they took care of the problem in about 1.5 hours.
