The next day we explored the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest, which made the trip even more special. This park is definitely up and coming, and you can tell they are putting a lot of effort into making it even better. The dog park was wonderful, and our pup had the best time there! We cannot wait to come back, hopefully for a longer stay, so we can soak in more of those incredible night skies and continue exploring the area. On top of it all, our Starlink worked flawlessly and was blazing fast, so working remotely here would be a dream. Already looking forward to our next visit!

When I got there they told me they didn't have a spot, offered me a spot against a fence with no water or ability to open my slides. The reason they gave me was that several people that were already there decided to extend their stay. I said so you rented them my space that I already booked and paid for? Yes was the answer. They finally set me up outside the property with a water hose and 30 amp plug-in they stretched through their fence, no sewer, not what I paid for, will never use them again.

We stopped at the Crystal Forest Museum, gift shop & RV Park, just outside the West Park Entrance. RV spaces are free. Yes there are no hookups but there are tables and concrete pads. Also the museum was great. What a collection of artifacts, fossils & petrified wood. The next morning we drove into the Park and stopped at the Visitors Center. This stop is a must. The displays are great and a walk among all the petrified trees in the back is amazing. We then continued our journey through the Park and thru the Painted Desert to the East Entrance. I'm old and seen pieces of petrified wood many times in my travels and have run across some pieces while hunting in the West but the quantity and the size of the pieces and trees here is amazing. If your in the area and have an hour or two to drive the 28 mile loop through this Park and are a rock fan or want to marvel at what Mother Nature can do, you should visit this National Park.

The room has everything you may need: mini fridge, microwave, comfy beds, air conditioning, hot water for showering.
