8am, 4/1/2021! Course was in good shape!

I played DD this morning with my son and used the golf moose deal, 2 riding for $90. The course is still in good shape. Not sure what all the gripe is about but it wasn't in bad shape at all. The round was quick, teeing off right before 8am and finishing just before 11am. The greens are in decent desert shape. A bit slow as they needed to cut it down more. The rough was super long and we lost a few balls in the thick rough. Putting greens open. Okay to share golf carts... Ended up shooting a 76 today with a 33 on the back nine!!!

This is the maintenance man from this golf course who STOLE my mom's Ipad. If you plan on coming do not trust the front desk people and def do not leave any personal items unattended in your hotel room. I wasn't even staying at this place and he found a way to steal it from my room at Aqua Soleil hotel. It's like the run some theft ring between the hotels. He even admitted to me "there is way more expensive stuff in that shed then this!" The man at the front desk who goes by "juan or jeff" became hostile cussing me out over the phone when I confronted him that I had TRACKED my ipad to this shed location on their property! Please be aware of the theft that goes on by their own employees at this "golf club."

The signature DD hole. Green is doable in 2 shots as long as you can carry 220yrds

Fresh cut greens this morning making for some nice pure putts. Almost nobody on the golf course Friday sunrise. This course gets an extra for the location. If you want serene, quiet, non-pressure desert Golf this is the place to hit!! The course is a little rough around the edges and in need of some more maintenance but the greens are good and par's are easy enough to find. If your not "straight off the tees" bring extra balls. The experience you get is much better than being at one of the resorts in town with resort, home, street, noise. Can't wait to be back! Desert Dunes

Desert Crest Country Club is an outstanding recreational alternative for active seniors. One can…read morecan own a manufactured home at a reasonable price and the park fees are surprisingly low for all the amenities. Desert Crest is one of only three senior parks in the entire Coachella Valley where you also own the land. All streets are owned and maintained by Riverside County. (A street cleaner just went by my house today three times.) There are no additional assessments to maintain street, sewer or water. Buyers in other parks should always inquire about whether there are contractual limitations on fees charged by the park owner. One amenity not found in the posh sections of Coachella Valley is access to natural hot mineral water. Club House staff diligently regulate the different temperatures of the healing waters in the large pool and each of the three "spas." One is indoor and two are outdoor. The adjacent exercise room sports expensive, high grade weight, bike and elliptical machines. Another unique feature is unlimited golf. Homeowners and renters pay no green fees. The course is a small but challenging 9 hole, par 3 course with elevated greens, four ponds, many trees and bushes. Residents often walk on to play solo or in pick-up games when the leagues (mens, women's and mixed leagues) are not playing. The park features the largest indoor shuffleboard court in Coachella Valley. This popular recreational facility has eight lanes. The club is an active participant in the California Shuffleboard Association and hosts the District Five Championship annually. Park residents make daily use of the clubhouse game room, library and entertainment facilities. Desert Crest Fun Club organizes social events with live entertainment throughout the season. The bad news about this unique recreational gem is that you must be 55 years old to live in the park. Personally, I wintered at Desert Crest since 2010. My wife and I choose to live here year-round in 2017 and we purchased a larger home in the park. One of our residents manages the staff of Desert Crest Country Club to maintain the common areas and facilities listed above. Another resident works in the office. The Homeowners Association is an organization of the the home owners and enforces the agreement among homeowners and with the park owner. I am pleased with the leadership shown by many individuals who live here. It well worth the money renting or buying for seasonal living or year-round residency.

As it was raining at my house I decided to golf in Coachella valley. I went on a Tuesday afternoon…read more I found I could golf at 1:04 for 59$ cart included. So what the heck, let's check it out. Arriving down their entrance was worrisome as it was looking pretty sad. I parked and went inside to find the club house to be standard. ( at least for me) I'm an average golfer but some days on the lower side of average. As you walk in there is a counter area for having a drink also a restaurant area. The big glass windows offer a beautiful view. The pro shop has the standard gear and the employee was cordial. I purchased a large bucket for 9$ which had 75 balls. I was concerned about the wind as it was blowing pretty good. I picked up my cart 1.5 hours early and headed to the range. There was no one else on the range. It faces right into the wind(west) which gave me practice on how the ball would react. I hear the wind blows slot here but the course was actually fun and I recommend you try it out. The carts do not have a video monitor but they have a car girl who will come by if you want a drink. Nice young lady. Give her a good tip! I asked if she had any hot dogs (6$)which she didn't but she was willing to go get me one! We were starting hole #10 and she brought it before we hit the green. I gave her 10$. She was happy. The majority of the fairways are straightforward with bunkers in the fairway and around the greens. The bunkers are filled with dirt ( bummer) and some have steep sides. The greens are decent shape and fast. Many have draws one way or another so you'll have a challenge. There is a mixture of long and short holes. I love the 18th. It's so picturesque. I used the picture of the saguaro cacti as my phone background. The mountains with snow behind the lake and fairways is truly magnificent. I will go back but try to pick a less windy day. After 4pm the sun was behind clouds and San Jacinto so I was cold even with 4 layers on. Start earlier in the day if you wanna spend more money. I thinks it's like 89$.

I wanted to take a moment to extol my heartfelt appreciation of Indian Canyons Golf Resort…read more My wife and I became full time associates (members) this season after playing three rounds last year because * first, both tracks were in impeccable shape although the greens on the North course had many divots which is actually the fault of players not knowing a divot tool works best when used * secondly, the people working both South AND North sides could not be more gracious. Always generous with their smiles and courtesy; always using our first names which in any business breeds kindness. This year we have gotten to know both Greg Griffin and Gene Mollenkamp and it is more than apparent why the course is run so efficiently, professionally and above all with respect to its members. We play many courses back east that are private and well maintained. We love our membership on Cape Cod. I have no problem comparing the courteous nature and outstanding way Indian Canyons Golf Resort is run. We feel so strongly about this that we purchased a home in Palm Springs because we love Indian Canyons.

I attest this to someone at the top setting an atmosphere of service and friendliness. I have seen some negative comments and they are not our experience at all. The upper management even assisted my husband is pulling off an amazing birthday surprise. We are absolutely looking forward to renewing our membership again next year. Came here on recommendation from a friend. The pools are beautiful and it's not crowded. Few guests, probably intentionally limited. The spas are great. We reserved a wood hot tub and a private tub (free reservations when you stay overnight) but honestly didn't even need it since there were plenty of tubs open. So did we need hot springs when it was 90F out? Not really but it was lovely. Staff friendly, warm welcome at the gate and reception. Much appreciated cold drinks from the bar and limited poolside and from your hot tub drink service. Restaurant served up nice sounding food with good elements but not quite out together well. Like some mushy forbidden rice under fantastically prepared lamb, or rubbery fried Halloumi on a very crisp and perfectly dressed bed of arugula. Not sure why none of it worked together but on paper it looked great. In real life was more unique. Overall a very relaxing stay. It's really close to J tree so pretty far from LA and San Diego which is great if you want / need privacy. Grounds are lovely with a duck and turtle pond. Tons of upsells here ($400 massage? I'll just fly to Thailand thanks). A couple free classes we didn't attend. 7:45 am yoga not happening on a retreat where we sleep in.

SO MANY COCKROACHES…read more There are A LOT of cockroaches here. When the sun goes down, they're running all over the walkways. It's a bit unnerving. They're also in the rooms - we found 3 in our room, told staff, they said they would send someone but never did. They just said "oh no! Apologies for the inconvenience" They're also in the pools. Our last night, sitting in the shallow meditation pool, I felt something on my shoulder, swiped it away and discovered it was the most massive 2.5 inch cockroach on me frantically trying to swim away. It was my worst nightmare. After that, every little thing I felt I kept thinking was another cockroach crawling on me. Really soured our experience here. Yes the grounds are beautiful, the waters are incredible, restaurant food was good, the bed was super comfortable, and our favorite part is the pools are open 22 hours a day (closed from 6-8am for cleaning) which means we can enjoy them late at night when most people are sleeping - a rare thing to do at a resort as most places prevent guests from enjoying any public water therapy after 9 or 10 at night. It has the potential to be a really amazing place but after seeing probably 30+ cockroaches on the property, in our room, and then crawling on me, I just can't really recommend this place as a peaceful sanitary getaway. I mean this place is infested and the resort doesn't seem to really care how much it's negatively impacting their guests. So if they don't care, then I'm certainly not going to be a patron of their business. If they reach out and try to make it right, if they improve then I'll update my review.
