We used Desert Moving Co. & Storage to assist with our move into a new home in Palm Springs. Specifically, we leveraged their receiving, storage, and delivery services to assist as this was a vacation home where we live in Los Angeles full time. Given the logistics involved, timing and coordination were important. As we purchased most of the furniture for the new home, they were shipped, and stored at Desert Moving until we were ready to coordinate the move into our new home. It took two weeks to be able to lock down Desert Moving for an actual date. What was even more frustrating was the fact that they were supposed to be supplying us with a running list/inventory of deliveries received to include inspection for damage etc.. This never happened. It required repeated requests for an inventory of what was received and when. This never came until very late the night before the "scheduled delivery". I took the day off from work, drove to Palm Springs and waited in an empty home for move that never happened. I was told in the afternoon that a crew was not available. It required a significant effort on my part to get them to deliver the next day which required a complete scramble of my work schedule to accommodate their change in availability. (NOTE) A chair that Federal Express had record of delivering to Desert Moving was no where to be found. Desert Moving said that Fed Ex often lie about delivery when they lose merchandise. In turn, we went back to the manufacturer and a new chair delivered directly to our home. During the move in, several outdoor chairs were damaged by the movers when being assembled. A supervisor came on site, we reviewed the chairs together, and he said they would follow up for resolution. Never heard from anyone. Shortly there after we received our bill and I emailed their accounting department and the service rep with whom we had been working to inquire about reimbursement/replacement of the damaged chairs and received no response. Next thing I knew, they charged our card on file for the full amount of the invoice. After several calls and emails, I finally connected with someone who told me our service rep was no longer with the company. This does not explain their accounting department not responding to my inquires. Very long story short. What should have been a very simple fix- replacing the damaged chairs which were actually very inexpensive, turned into weeks of emails and phone calls. I was finally connected to a manager who after giving me the run around for weeks, came up with a solution. The chair that went missing, miraculously appeared and they offered to deliver the chair for me for free in lieu of paying for the damaged chairs. As I shared they lost the chair, we had it replaced over a month ago. Still no offer to make good on the damaged goods that 3 of their employees including a supervisor acknowledged while onsite during our move. Desert Moving seems incredibly unorganized. Poor communication, terrible service, and based on the shady experience with someone at the managerial level, I find them to unethical in their business practices.

This has got to be one of the most difficult lines of work and these guys made my experience and my wife's experience so wonderful. Very negative experience with DFS. Despite a reasonably competitive, upfront estimate for the…read moreshipping of my household goods to Europe, the owner Steve Fleischman found multiple, creative ways to engage in a series of unforeseen charges AFTER he took our belongings hostage. Once he has your valuables, you are literally over a barrel and DFS will do their best to make you sweat while extracting one surprise fee after the next. This includes threatening you with the "potential impounding of all your goods". Strong-arming and preying upon an older, single woman is not beneath these creeps. After many sleepless nights, I ended up paying more than DOUBLE the original estimated price for his "service". There are better, more ethical alternatives in OUR desert than DFS, who are frankly exhausting and treacherous with whom to work. Avoided the snow-job and work exclusively with licensed carriers with no DOT complaints on file. My bad. PS: you can be certain that Steve's response to this review will be to call it "fake" or deny that I was an actual customer. As if anybody has nothing better to do than write fake reviews of a tiny, failure of a business. Caveat emptor!!!

Duane confirmed my appointment a few days in advance which I thought was very professional, however, never showed up on the appointment day, when I called an hour after our confirmed time, he said he was having phone problems and to call his office to reschedule, but I never got confirmation. They had me call the next morning to see if they can fit me in that day. Once I got back on the books two days later, he was 6 hours late and could only do half the job. They didn't bring any tools so they used all of ours we happened to have. We noticed one of our tools was missing when they left. When they arrived the next day to finish the job, we confronted them about the tool and they returned it. A few hours later, we noticed some Airpods were missing, and after using the 'Find My' app, discovered they were in one of the workers pockets. He claimed he picked them up to return them but come on. The owner also left his workers at our house for two hours without water (claiming he's grabbing water) - his workers were asking us for water in 110 degree heat. All around absolutely unacceptable as a business. There's plenty of people who do this in yucca, go somehwhere else

NOT THE CASE WITH DCB. I contacted Dion on a Sunday late afternoon. He said he would be in touch in the next few days. Monday morning, he called to say he was in my area and would this be a convenient time. Absolutely. He showed up with a crew, ready to work. He was fair in his assessment of the pricing and the time it would take. He promised to come back for the extra bits that couldn't fit on the first round. And he did. The job was done in record time. They were friendly, efficient and accommodating. I expect to work with DCB again, for some of the other services they provide- yard work, property maintenance and generally keeping an eye on things. Great experience. Happy to add my review to the others, which is what prompted me to get in touch with him in the first place. All true.

As I have tried communicating with Ross about the missing and damaged items he refused to return my txt and calls. I also did not appreciate his crew being so disrespectful to my handyman and partner . I will be going full force now to not have his license suspended but have him reimburse all damaged/family heirlooms and missing items I forgot to add they got grease in our moms urn !
